    Kyle, you’re probably not going to see this, but if you’re still wanting to keep a stock bottom end setup in this Ls literally go to autozone, and tell them you need a “crankshaft rebuild kit” for whatever year truck that motor came out of. I have a stock bottom end 5.3 in my camaro, it made 950 at the tire on a remanned autozone crank. You get a stock crank that is turned and polished, and all the matching main and rod bearings. I think it’s about $350 last one I bought. I believe all other main auto parts stores offer remanned cranks as well.

      @newtonfirefly3584 Před 2 lety

      Actually, Junk is still junk - no matter the manufacturer - also smaller displacement engines are always more vulnerable to the power expansion via boost as any engine
      The N/A power produced compared with the P/A boost is the cause for the greater wear, damage, etc. - especially with 'stock' type engines compared with purpose built racing engines like for F1, Indy, NASCAR, NHRA/IHARA/PDRA, etc. -> and they are also extremely vulnerable due to their designed use is near the limits.
      Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Cadillac, Ferrari, Porsche, Peugeot, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Mopar/Dodge, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Nissan, Subaru, etc. each have their racing engines, drive trains, components too.
      Among the smaller, 4 cylinder, public, commercial version engines, the Japanese, especially Honda and Toyota have developed the best reputation for durability, reliability - which they extended, expanded into their 6 & 8 cylinder engines too - and became their base into the racing engines.
      However, these boosted H, J, K, G, etc. engines engines clearly show their vulnerabilities within durability, reliability - as per the Boostedboiz, PFI Speed, and others - few manage to last through a Drag&Drive event, especially, more so RMRW.
      Sincerely

    As an Aussie when I hear "LS" I automatically think 5.7L as we didn't get the 5.3L. we got the 5.7 and 6L here in our Holden's. Until watching cleetus I didn't realize they got smaller than 5.7, I suppose the 5.3 would rev nicely!! Ive had a 5.7 myself in a VY SS commodore, was fantastic on the highway. I preferred my turbo 4's and rotors though.

Would get another 2 cars in there an then build another one close to the back door just for the truck or your daily have the pad cleared then can practice burnouts an drifting and bee open for when needing to load up cars an parts just need a forklift too

    Bet this will be the beginning of a lot of ls builds in the future when you see how easy they are to build eventually …currently building a .065 over Ly6, forged internals big cam , rings gapped for boost. Easy high revving 600 whp na build pretty much an iron ls3 tbh . Ordered pro charger will be slapping that on soon when I get time. Should be pushing around 800hp (low boost around 8 psi) in my 4th gen Camaro auto cross/roll race build.

  • @jaredrandall80
    @jaredrandall80 Před 2 lety

    You guys should just go head and get a good stock crank and built the bottom end of the ls with a good set of turbo rods, pistons, rings, cam and high volume melling oil pump that way the engine is already good for boost when you get ready to boost it especially while it's already tore down.

  • @gageleonard3442
    @gageleonard3442 Před 2 lety

    A machine shop that works with LS’s can tell you if it’s a 5.3 or a 4.8 just by the crank if you really want to know if it’s a 5.3 or 4.8 see if they can check your stock crank out

    I had an 04 rsx type s in 06. Still pretty new tech then. I went 3 2. Money shifted it. Those transmissions are butter. Triple synchro in 1st and 2nd which is why it was able to go into 2nd I guess. I slapped the shifter down but the leather shift knob rotated and I felt it go into 2nd instead of 4th. So I clutched back in as soon as I let off the clutch. She screamed so loud haha. But it was fine. I was super shocked it didn't scatter right there on the highway. Got her back into gear and still won the race haha
