hey man, I just brought the mic today. Great review man and I realized that you are actually in Hong Kong right now. I'm starting on youtube as well, should get some coffee n catch up! I would love to learn more about your experience :D
Hi, my friend! Sorry, I don't have that microphone anymore, I used to have it but gave it to a friend. If quality is something you're worried about, they're pretty much the same. Just different in loudness by maybe -1 to -2 decibels!
Hi! I bought this mic because of your review😅 I just have a question. Is it possible to use this as a mic on an imac? Our imac has an audio in and audio out port however it only works when I plug it into the audio out port (the same port for earphones). I kinda need this mic to work as a mic only, then use the imac's internal speakers because it will be used for my kid's online class and I also need to hear what the teacher is saying. If I plug it in the earphone port, I won't be able to listen in on her classes. Nice review btw!
Mark I bought this lav mic and my recordings produce a distinct background noise, which is very clear whenever I don't speak. I have plugged it right into my desktop / smartphone. Your sound is great tho, how come?
Hey, Andreas! It's because your phone/desktop is probably on auto gain. I was using a camera here with manual gain settings so I was able to control hissing noises.
@@markfriday is this something I can somehow adjust on a desktop? My purpose was to enhance my zoom calls audio with this mic :) if not, do you suggest another piece of equipment that handles this issue with better results?
I might have a specific question, if it's not a problem. Can M1 be used directly with Android phone (Redmi Note 9 Pro), so let's say when I record a video with my phone, will I be able to have the audio recorded with M1, instead of the phone's factory mic? Will there be any interferences or bugs like "You're already using your audio" etc.
Hey, Goran! It's a plug-and-play microphone so you'll have no problems here. The moment you plug it in, your phone will automatically treat it like a "headset" and will default all incoming audio to be inputted into plugged microphone.
@@markfriday correct! the batt was already in it. worried that i might break it AND it's not in any tutorials nor the official help guide. 0dB and -10dB has great differences now. thanks again! ^_^
Hi Mark I have a question I am still in preparation to become a CZcamsr, but I don’t know Which microphone is better for household clips, such as question and answer clips, tips, and so on Do I use (By mm1 +) or (By m1 pro)? Knowing that I am filming with my smart phone
@@markfriday No problem, thanks for the reply, my friend Mark! I own a boya by mm1 + microphone and bought it after seeing your awesome clips about it Boya M1 Pro caught my eye, and I think it is suitable for clips inside the house for filming on the phone, such as sarcastic comment clips and so on. My question is which of these two is better for filming the parody clips inside the house ?? Knowing that I record the clips with my Android mobile phone, and is there a microphone that others recommend to me ?? Thank you
Judging from your description on what you want to use it for, you're gonna be better off with either the MM1 or the MM1+. Having to use a lavalier for videos like what you want to do will be very difficult because your movement will be very limited because of being tethered to a cable.
@@markfriday I just canceled the M1 and ordered the M1 Pro. I think the newer probably better. I like new one has better build quality and you can switch it to -10DB.
@@markfriday In your review, can you please try recording something very loud? I can't find the max SPL. I'd want to use this for recording exhaust notes from a motorcycle or car. So it'd have to withstand at least 100+ dB(A). Thanks.
Hey, Umar! Your M1 broke? How? What's wrong with it? Maybe it's just the cable. Mine has lasted me since 2018 and so far only the cable gave in because of overuse so I just bought a new TRS to TRS cable.
Nice video! Sounds like a great purchase! The audio sounds great:)
Glad you think so, Derek! Thanks for sharing your input!
the large connector is a 1/4 audio connector not XLR.
It's been awhile since I visited your channel. Time to go on a Mark Friday Marathon, lol. Great great video, as always!
Great video man. Thx for the Review. Looking into something like this.
Hey, David! My pleasure! Cheers!
-10 is a preamp that Boya M1 doesnt have? I think you could post image from settings onde câmera to see where is the notch. Thanks for the vídeo.
I like your accent also sound.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Amir!

Hi, Mark. Any chance you’ll review the M1 Pro mark ii?

Hi do you know how to fix when there is a cracking up background noise ?
i was just waiting for it
Thanks for your patience! How's it going? Did you make any new crafts videos?
@@markfriday yes i just uploaded
Good review. However you named the 6.3mm adaptor an XLR, which is not correct.

Hi. Great review👍 Which one will you recommend for Discord ( Just going to use it to chat with my friends while I'm going to game ) ?
Hey, Marco! Thanks for dropping a comment! Are you looking for a microphone to use with a smartphone or a camera?

@@cricket4life249 Go for it it's awesome.
Why i must purchase the pro than the previous version? Help me please.
Hey there, if you need the attenuation (less db gain) then I'd definitely go for the Pro and if not, just the old M1 will be enough!
Thanks sir!
@@markfriday i already purchase one and the mic safely arrived just now. Thanks for ur video👍
@@fathisyauqi8046 So how is it sound?
Make a video, Fathi!

By m1 vs By m1pro .. is the difference is great in sound quality or no difference in sound quality ?
is there some kind of thin transparent plastic at the battery part? not sure if it's there to cover the battery, or i should remove it....
Hi there! It may be there when it's brand new to prevent the battery from being drained, you can remove it when you open the package.

Nice men . I will buy one
this week.
You're gonna love it!
Hey Mark, I purchased one but can't get the live audio monitoring to work. Is there a certain way that you did it?
Brother my skin toon getting yellowes while shoot video can you please suggest me tips and tik to remove it🙏💓
Check your white balance.
Also, try using sunlight instead of artificial lighting.
