The smashed winged eagle was smashed by the genius (Macho Man Randy Savage's IRL Brother) was dual plated and is now in the hands of BeltFanDan, THE belt guy and current beltmaker for the NWA (also has the WCW belts on license from J-Mar)
A replica of the WE, I believe was smashed up and taped back together to make the original hardcore belt.

Mr Percect smashed the original dual plated winged eagle on Saturday nights main even in 1989 after a segment with Hulk Hogan that belt was then sold to a private collector. The original hardcore belt was an entirely new belt made and wrecked specifically to be the hardcore belt

Not gonna lie I love/hate that wwe did this. I spent 10 years look for a Hardcore title because they stopped making them. And I finally got my hands on one. Everything is Origonal and say WWF on the plates, the tape, and the wwf stamp in the back. So I'm greatful for that. But now what I felt was some what of a holy grail hard to find rare piece. Isnt anymore (unless you specifically looking for wwf) Love the new thick plated belts but idk...maybe it's just me.
