Professor of violin Julia Bushkova and her student Lucas Furtado demonstrate the important technique of finger replacements. To contact Professor Bushkova - violinclassusa@gmail.com
Is there a way to notate a Finger Replacement? Would you just label the original fingering and then label the other finger metrically where it would occur on the note?
Do you happen to live in VT.? My cousin lives there and she had a friend that taught college level violin. She hosted parties at her home. Im only asking because your name sounds so familiar. My cousin is Denise.
Great video! Thank you Lucas for allowing us to basically get a 3rd person lesson. And many thanks to Julia for the lesson and knowledge!
Thank you, professor, I do it intuitively without having been taught, but analyzing the steps really helps put it into perspective.
Wonderful Video and Exercise! I am grabbing my violin right now to see if I can demonstrate this skill. Happy Practicing!
I notice Lucas' right thumb is on the leather - I do the same as a viola player (big hands as well).
Thank you for sharing it. When and why should we use this technique?
Very good. I follow each of your videos.
Thanks for this lesson. ❤
Very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you so much.
