  • Walther's Law: The distribution of environments represented by rocks in a vertical stratigraphic column is related to the distribution of those environments laterally. You can also see my lecture notes at dawnssedstrat.blogspot.com/201...

I took this definition from the video: The basic idea of Walther's Law is you can look at vertical sequence of rocks to interpret the environments and make a reasonable assumption to those environments used to be next to each other. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing that with the public. I'm just an occasional amateur fossil hunter, but find sedimentary geology and its related disciplines to be fascinating subjects. Your generosity is deeply appreciated.

Hello..i see you are a very intelligent woman..and how you took the time to talk about why a white woman should not be afraid of a black man..about 10yrs ago I dated a Hispanic woman at my job..her race of men..hated me.. AND they did there best to spread hate to the woman..by telling them I would beat her..but in fact..they were the ones slapping & cursing at there kind..while I was buying her gifts and loving her every weekend..it got so bad to were manager's..were miss treating me..but would leave her along..finally the job was over and we went out separate ways..a few months later..she needed my help.. and wanted to see me..but I decided to move on..my whole understanding of this racial dating is this..you need a lot of family support & blessing from them..to give this team a fighting chance..or you need a woman/nomad that stands apart from outside conflict..or jealous behavior..sometime love is not enough in this world..sometime you have to decide even without saying it out loud..we will stand..we will grow..we will trust..we will share US with OR without the world's blessings..that this is or choice to be together..and to LOVE..2 races and one common goal..2 survive a world bent on destroying itself ..I'm a black man..but I have indian.&.white.blood in me...so I have a open mind on a lot of things..i exspecially love any race on women..this is my take on this matter..**ONE#1**

Walther's law applies to environments with deposition but not to those with erosion because no sediment is left behind. A valley river might deposit sand in the channel and mud and soils in the floodplane. These represent neighboring environments and will be found on top of each other in a vertical section. However, a mountain river that is eroding rock, will not leave behind an unconformity, not sediment, and it removes evidence of previous environments. Walther's law doesn't work.
