i`ve had 2 of them.they are the best.i broke the stud going down the road antenna fell off and i ran it over in my Peterbuilt,it was flat.changed the stud, pulled the coils apart (more diamond than oval )at this point.but still worked great.
If you're doing 60 watts or above then this is a good antenna. I was a bedbugger ,in the trees all the time this antenna never broke. Going down the road I seen a lot of bent predator 10k antennas. The k40 version of this is to thin also to be durable.....kind of miss keying up at the truckstop and walking on people but life goes on. Local driver now, home every night
My Monkey Made is 16 years old, company trucks were Peterbuilt now Freightliners Cascadias. I need to speak with Drivers who have this Antenna on a Cascadia Big Truck. Question has anyone purchased Money Made extension shaft to extend coil away from vehicle. Need to know how long whip was cut for optimum SWR.
Cool antenna just curious how much does it weigh. Have a tram bigcat 9 on my car been looking at getting a better one. Have looked at the Predator 10k antennas for a while.
try calibrating ur cb at channel 20 instead of channel 1 and 40. since I'm assuming u use channel 19 like a majority of us do. your tuning will be closer aligned for the mid channel section. I'm running 5ft firestick and just recently converted to this mm9 and haven't put it on yet but I don't push less than 1 swr.. dunno if that will help but I had a 3ft one on prior to that and was pushing 2.5 swr.. sucked
saltyventures channel 22 would be more recommended for set tuning for 11 meters. You must remember the frequencies in-between 3 & 4, 7 & 8, 11 & 12, 15 & 16, 19 & 20.
Having a "Flat match" isn't necessary but, you can change the impedance of the antenna at the feed point by using a ground plane, which may have a positive or negative effect in altering the standing waves. Also your coax length should be cut in increments of 3' i.e. 1, 3, 6 ,9, 12 etc...
these antennas all brag about 2000-3000-5000 watts handling power... makes an amateur cb operator think that the antenna gets out better cause of it.. well it doesn't, it just means it can handle more power into it! a 5/8 wave antenna will perform the same if it can handle 5 watts or 5000 watts, you will still get out the exact same range with your stock 4 watts that the radio puts out, out of these antennas... hope this helps
no, just making it look like its better, and would help (get your signal out farther) if you get it.. its like buying a car where your speed is governed at 55mph.. BUT selling you tires that can do 200 mph! and another antenna is good for 300 mph.. MEANWHILE your car only goes 55 tops...
The "Coil" has nothing to do with watts, it's an inductance load. By adding, subtracting, increasing, or decreasing the coil demension, that will determine the bandwidth and antenna resonance.

I got a mm-9 long shaft 2 hand today for $15.00 works good so far
Been using this type of monkey made for 16yrs with no problems
looks cool and how does this perform compare to the predator 10k

That is cool
How much did you have to cut off the stinger to get a good sir?
Hey Man, whats the distance limits you can comunicante with that antenna?

Sorry, SWR
why do people buy this.. the big coil is for the high wattage.. your stock radio pushes 4 watts..
do yourself a favor and buy a Wilson 1000
nope.. just sounds good (5000 watts handling) and looks good ;)

Who Has A Stock Radio Now Days?

Big deal
