  • We are dusting off the old Bridgeport milling machine to put the finishing touches on my homemade set of extra heavy-duty jack stands. Getting the front axle out from under the Mack is now going to be much easier and safer. I have been cruising the web trying to find a suitable set of jack stands that were tall enough and heavy enough to do the job. I have finally concluded that to get what I want without breaking the bank, A set will have to be made. A good friend of mine did the fabrication and welding on these stands, and I finish them off by drilling the holes needed to adjust them to the desired height.

Looks like a robust set of jack stands; I saw a set like these for sale and they were described as "train Jacks"! Keep up the good content combining 2 of favorites Fab work& Macks. My neighbor is an old time machinist whom owns Bridgport and has helped me make a few things to keep my old backhoe digging.
