Said from Game 1, on your day one season video that this was play in team, nothing more..
I agree 100% on this one. The play in tournament celebrates mediocrity.
For Bulls yes but its a good addition to the league overall
Yea for the bulls in the east. The west is good
@@emilfrederiksen.1622 I disagree. If there was no play in is LeBron taking all those days off for no reason?? It allows bad behavior robbing fans of seeing top players compete on a nightly basis
Tbh im actually so pissed off at the bulls cause if they would have out of the play in last season they would have secured a lottery pick in the 2023 draft which was so top heavy. I mean the mavs saw the writing on the wall, tanked despite having luka and the samw shot to go into the playin, got their man derek livley and that was enough to push them from being a bottom seed to being in contention for top 4th in the wild west in just 1 year
and had a healthy Luka... and had a largely healthy Kyrie... and took a shot at Grant Williams, flipping him for Gafford... Lively was nice in the early season but has been very injury prone the 2nd half this season
I personally think the play in shouldn’t include the 7 and 10 seed. As for 8 and 9 it should only be a thing if 9 is within at least 2-3 games.
Why punish the 7th seed?
Why help the 10th seed? 15 teams in a conference and you want 10 in the playoffs based off one game?
The 7th seed would have to lose both play in games, at home, to not make the playoffs. I'd say they would have earned that punishment.
If you Lose both play in games at Home as the 7th seed you don’t deserve the post season
I get what both of you are saying, but why should they have to participate in a play-in game in the first place? They aren’t last. Keep it between 8 and 9.
The play-in isn't the issue. It's ownership only caring about $$$. Tickets sell, so just keep the same mediocre team. When tickets dropped they finally got rid of Garpax and allowed for the signing of Caruso, Demar, and Zo. The team is still mediocre but tickets sell so they won't blow it up until ppl stop going to the games
I love the play-in. The NBA needed the one game, high stakes type atmosphere and has playoff energy and effort. It also discourages tanking so it’s a win for the competitiveness of the NBA. Unfortunately the Bulls are experiencing the downside of that competitiveness
I've said it before and I'll say it again Jerry Reinsdorf is one of the worst owners in all of professional sports
100% The worst in my opinion
Does losing the play-in increase the Bull’s draft lottery odd? Because if it does… I’m going to be cheering for the Hawks. Atlanta vs Boston should also be a good series to watch.
I like an underdog story so I like the idea of the play in tournament.
I've already accepted the reality that we're going to lose and not make the playoffs somehow the bulls are going to blow it
The play in makes sense when it helps young teams who are struggling to put it together get some play-off experience. Or in a stacked conference like the West where a team that is 11 would be out of the playoffs. Not so much when it's two teams missing any real reason to even show up playing for the chance to get swept out of the first round.
It is a win win with the play-in too, because if they drop out then they have a lottery pick this year and if they make it in then they will get to test the squad in a playoff scenario. I am sure some will argue that nothing will be gleaned from a 4-0 series vs the celtics, but there is a silver lining.
The play in tournament is a bad idea, there's no true value added other than putting dollars in the pocket of the NBA for extra games at the end of the year. The in season tournament is actually a great idea though. A lucky game can put a 36-46 team in over a 41-41 team. It's not fair or sensible.
Now, if there was a single game elimination tournament for the teams ranked 9th and 10th in each conference for the top 2 picks, I'd be cool with that, and everyone else falls in by record.
lol tell the mia heat that last year
@@AreaO Last year the Heat had a playoff record, they would have been 7th if not for a fluke loss in the play-in dropping them to 8th. The Hawks got lucky, and had the Bulls not collapsed, the Heat would have been on the outside looking in when they were actually good enough to go to the finals. THAT' is why the Play-In is stupid.
EXACTLY I’ve always hated the play in tournament. Like for the bubble sure but as a permanent thing no. If a team doesn’t make it it just shouldn’t make it.
I liked the play-in when it was initially installed because i thought it brung out a different level of competitiveness, but now the Bulls are making me hate it...............because they act like clinching the play-in is some sort of celebration. Little do they know they know that they'd be eliminated from playoff contention for two straight years, if it wasn't for the play-in. I want the play-in scrapped, so the Bulls can no longer use that as an outlet to potentially excuse them from giving themselves a chance to make the playoffs the non-traditional way.......they've officially ruined the play-in for me.
On point. You are right.
I agree with you on that.. it is important to be healthy. Love to see Bitim more mins.
Yea I love the playin too, its the FO fault were here. If this was a team led by Coby and Ayo with a majority of young players I would be happy to be in the playin.
THE PLAY IN SHOULDNT EXIST!
It should
The problem isn’t the play-in, the problem is our management and ownership. And unfortunately, there’s no home court advantage at the UC
I would say the home record has more to do with the team success, rather than the UC
Its really all about revenue like you said. I dont hate the play-in but I definitely it gives false hope from being the 9th and getting in to making the finals. If they really wanted shake things up (but wont because of money) they'd do a 3-5-7-7 format for the playoffs (think of the upsets and the chaos it causes) and a tournament for the lottery, which I've said before. The winner takes the #1 pick and everything else falls in line according to who lost (with the 2 worst teams getting a bye for the first round). THAT could possibly make up any lost money from shortening the playoff format and could also stop tanking.
I agree with limiting their minutes, especially Demar. Rest doesn’t have an effect on this team. If my memory serves me well, they take tough more Ls after getting more than 2 days off. LOL 😂
It’s not ideal and this season been ugly, but we all gotta remember how we turned some things around without three of our biggest dudes including our meant to be super star. Proud of what the bench was able to do and how the team has played with each other through all the transitions and losses. Still wish it was a winning season. But it could have beeen way worse.
Javonte Green signed and Terry Taylor waived let’s gooo
5 Javontes and 5 ACs will make it worth watching. Lottery pick or playoff basketball. We still got something to play for lol would love beat the Knicks 3 times. Come on let's go Bulls 🤗
At least we know that changes will have to be made this off-season. There's no way to run it back without going into the luxury tax.
There is if you let Demar go ans keep everything Else the same. Plus you Can get off Lonzos contract via insurance.
Bulls talk starts at 1:50
They need to shoot for the 10 seed just for the better pick odds
i think the bulls front office woulda dis what they did regardless, this team has been languishing for the better part of a decade, the playin only like 3 yrs old. the front office is terrible at adjusting
Ouffff 🔥🔥🔥
The only point of the play in is to have more games for the NBA to make money off of.
There's just no way they will beat Boston either way. They can't even win games at home. So this play off push will be meaningless.
Fire AKME!!!
There's seems to be no plan to try and win the championship, what motivation do the reindorfs have, they can rest on their laurels even though it has been nearly 30 years ago, still not many NBA teams has more championships. Bulls are in the top 5 market, as long as they are making money, not having to pay the luxury tax, mediocrity is enough for them, at least that is what it feels like since they have done nothing to prove otherwise.
Bro i swear i was just thinking this, i hope the start of the new season we dont extend derozan cause i never liked him for the bulls and we need to move on
just lose it’s not like we’re gonna do anything i’m so tired of this team
Reason number 900 I hate the play in
Why lavine is not playing?
He had surgery if I am not mistaken.
Hmm - they should send Lavine and extend Caruso - he should replace Lavine - give him 20mln and build the team slowly again - Caruse will implement that tough / dog mentality to the entire team
Ok but in the west, the play on actually makes a lot of sense. In the east with losing records, it sure does feel like a participation event party. The 7,8 seeds sitting tight in the east
Can we blame management or bulls fans? They beat good teams at a decent percentage, they just lose to bad teams which doesn’t make sense
