  • Today we’re going to talk about the Glide Max Trail shoes. Personally I have tended to stay away from high cushion shoes because I haven’t really liked any that I have tried. That was until I ran in these. I have run well over 100 miles in these shoes and I almost ran a 75K trail race in them. Let’s talk about why I was considering them, and why I ultimately decided to go with a different shoe.

Picked these up couple weeks ago and as a larger runner, I sure wish I had these back when I ran the Squamish 50. The cushion and grip would have been perfect. We ran on a dry day and If it was wet I am not sure I'd trust them on the steep downhills. I have never ran a Salamon because my feet are to wide. I order my shoes normally in 4E and currently run the Hoka Bondi 8 X-wide.
So not only did they use regular shoe laces, they are wider because I bought them off the shelf. That said, they are not 4E wide and I wear a thinner sock.
I am used to regular tongues and laces. so I do not know how good you all have it! Ignorance is bliss!
Thanks for the great vid and honesty.

I totally agree with you about the pros and cons, this shoe has a lot of good things to be considered a great option to run long distances if the terrain isn't too technical. Yes, the tongue is awful and uncomfortable, they need to improve it.

So, what shoes did you run your event in?
