Carga Animal (Animal Transport)
Dir: Iván Bustinduy
Centred around a truck driver, Hernán, tasked with delivering a trio of animals, we’re about four-minutes into the short’s 19-minute duration when we start to get an indication that something isn’t quite right with his cargo. A film with little dialogue, from this point Bustinduy builds the tension through a patient edit, subtle sound design and an imposing performance from lead actor Héctor Bordoni. The reveal, around the six-minute mark, stands out as a strikingly simple yet profoundly unsettling moment. One you won’t be able to stop thinking about, long after the film is finished. - S/W Curator, Rob Munday

Ooo that last look at the dog😢😢😢
Not everyone can be a hero.
Bro just lets the human trafficking happen?
What does he mean he couldn’t see? It looked like a human child to me?
Im confused. The driver sees that’s it’s not what he expects and does nothing?
How do you think the world is in the state it’s in now? Millions of people trying to survive ignoring the suffering their work causes because just for today, it’s not them.
He couldnt just call the police? I guess thats how things like this happen, i guess i understand he didnt know what to do and people let stuff happen all the time and do nothing.
El empleo del personaje en off es sublime. Gran corto. Felicitaciones grandes
The most unsettling bit for me was all the smoking. I've been off the sticks for 41-ish days. Seems like the script was just like: "Man drives. Pulls over. Looks in the back of his truck. Has a smoke. Reflects. Wash. Rinse. Repeat." I appreciate the sound design, tho. That was visceral. Maybe a little too heavy-handed, but as a sound designer myself, I know I always paint with too much color, veer off the cliff and need my director to pull me back to solid ground.
Truly amazing! One of the most unsettling things I've seen. Hope there is a sequel to this
What was unsettling about it?*
Yeah what was so unsettling about it?
I believe the “drug mule” was a child which is why it fit in the cage and why they took it away at the drop off location anyway. I say “drug mule” because if wasn’t easy to tell (at first) what was in the larger cage, plus a mule is an animal, but he did feed it a sandwich so we saw a hand reach out, not a dog snout or anything else that would indicate it was anything other than human. Also we see him stop at times and assume he stopped several more, to check on his “delivery”.
Also he was only expecting a dog or possibly another animal, and upon realizing it wasn’t, tried to talk in a way that wouldn’t imply that he knew that he knew what was going on. Obviously realizing he was more concerned about the situation than his employers were would make one feel very unsettled.
He was probably wondering how many times he may have been party to something similar, what kind of people he had been working with, and once this was confirmed by the last call (and the final delivery), who would he go to? The police? He was probably stuck in the job for fear of the life of his family members, etc.
Again, I assume it was a young drug mule only because they died, and the people were still going to take their body inside nonetheless? Plus mule implies animal and that was his job to deliver animals - which sort of implies how much dealers value the lives of people desperate enough to try to get out of a horrifying situation to an unknown but hopefully better one?!
Very well done!
Probably one of the most confusing ones i’ve seen yet
Well what happened and what I missed? Didn't understand anything.
05:50 it was not he actually he is a metaphor!let you see they're human too like emetions,organism.....don't trade on or by animals....this is the state of proposal
Watch it again.
@@sequelance you watch it. One time is enough
What? Emetions organism? Idk about what short you saw. I saw no emotion organism. I saw was a bad story line.
What would I watch it again? You think if I saw again my opinion would be different? If I saw it and million times my opinion would be the same. Furthermore I might add the vernacular that it is whack or rotten or and it stinks
Glad I fast forwarded most of it cause there was a lot of nothing going on
Delete TikTok, your attention span is awful
Me too
A whole lot of nothing. And when I thought I found something worth seeing again nothing.
This isn’t good
