At the end of the 1990s, the method was popular in Budapest. But even then it wasn't legal. However, action could only be taken against him if the authorities were notified of the two types of prices. After the reports were made, it was possible to eliminate this fraud with constant checks, so-called test purchases, large fines, and forced closures.
Frauds cannot be completely ruled out, but this is only good for the fraudster.
The authorities take action against such people, but only if they know about it.
The price is always questionable in places with undisclosed prices. Even as a Hungarian, I'm not sure that they're not fooling me.
Knowledge of the given language is always an advantage. We know that our language is unique and difficult, so we value those who learn it.

    Hey, a Hungarian here.
This face tax is true with the menu but I think it just happened in Budapest, I've never heard something like this happened somewhere else.
And Budapest is veeeeeery different from the rest of the country, they live in their own little bubble.
But there are always people who want to exploit situations.
About the language, I think if you move to a foreign country it should be a basic thing to learn the language at least a little bit.

In Hungary you have to learn Hungarian! That is the biggest tax :D :D
Just move to Spain, Spanish is easier and you will have a nicer life!
