    Great quick review video, appreciate the small details and info you are showing everyone to for more technically minded people what sort of problems these thing might have 10 years down the road. Smaller battery is nice for replacement cost I wonder how much these things brand new right now from toyota? Also are the poles of the cells bolted to terminals or spot welded together?

    Hi, mabe you stil read this posting. I am curious as I have also a YARIS Cross. A couple of Qs.
    By disconnecting everything to be able to test it, do you have to reset the car afterwards using GTS? Afterwards or just reconnect everything and that is it. Here in Europe I was told that a reset is needed. Last but not least. As my Yaris Cross does not have a rear roof headliner dom light, and that car on yourTest has. Can you recall if there was a special molded cutaway on the healiner in order to fit that light dom? It looks like the ones used in the CH-R. What about cabling for that? Is it easy to pull a cable from the front interior lights? Thank you for your help. Best wishes

    Thank you very much for sharing this extremely well made and technical insight to the new Yaris Cross High Voltage Traction Battery. I have a Toyota Yaris Cross and it is only 5 months old so the HV battery air intake filter should be ok at the moment but is it possible to be cleaned my myself or only by a main Toyota service agent?
    My last question is about the air exhaust outlet from the HV battery. Can this become blocked a it looks from your video that it is down facing into the floor pan of the vehicle. If this becomes blocked then a guess the battery will overheat and stop working. How can we make certain that the expelled hot air from the HV battery is not blocked? Thank you and a very excellent video production, well done.

    • @hybridsolutiondiagnostics
      @hybridsolutiondiagnostics  Před rokem +2

      Air outlet is pretty wide so getting clogged will be very very hard… but cleaning the intake and fan often definitely is a must do at least every once a year

    Hi, do you have any idea whether if it is possible to use the high voltage system with dc to ac inverter? With a non hybrid car, people usually use the 12V system with an dc to ac inverter.

      @MooseOnEarth Před 5 měsíci

      See the video at 16:30 - Toyota integrated a high-voltage DC to AC 120V converter in the car and provides a nice outlet. For efficiency, they connected to the high DC voltage of the battery directly.

      No clutch between engine and hybrid transmission (Power Split Device), no clutch fluid => no clutch fliud actuator. Also: no charging inlet. This car's battery can not be charged from the grid by customers.

      @MooseOnEarth Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@sevastoskoumtzis5401Yes, you are right: no heat pump function of the A/C system. But I guess, there is an electric PTC heater in the air vents of about 1000 W. So it can provide some warmness to the cabin without running the engine.

    Hi, I have a question regarding a yaris cross. I am planning to buy one soon, however, I have heard from reviews that if you don't drive the car in a timeframe of 5 days, the hybrid battery goes flat to 0%. Is this a myth or a reality?

    • @stevelitchfield
      @stevelitchfield Před 2 dny

      It’s the 12V battery that goes flat. If you need to leave the car for a week then you have to get someone to put it in Ready mode at least every few days to charge the 12V from the hybrid etc. Or have a jump start gadget ready! 😊

    • @ssr003

      Lithium ion is more energy dense than NiMH (fitted in older prius, aqua, prius c, fielder, axio) thats why they went with smaller battery.
