  • This interview was conducted as a part of the “Global Mining and Materials Research” project focusing on key transitions in technology, policy, and geopolitics that have brought mining to its current state worldwide. Betty Gibbs has been involved in the minerals industry for more than 40 years. As an engineer, author, university professor and consultant, Ms. Gibbs has been at the forefront of technology development and adaptation for the mining industry. The interview was conducted by Paul Burnett in 2015, Oral History Center of the Bancroft Library, The Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley, 2015.
