    Just has type 3 dengue fever 2 weeks ago, on the first four days I had symptoms like headache, dehydration, loss of appetite, migraine behind my eyes, skin rashes, waited too long and on day five I was woken up at 4am by excruciating pain in my upper torso and joint aches all over my body, I profusely sweat overnight through my pyjamas and my bed mattress was soaked, 5 minutes after waking up I threw up an ungodly amount of fluids, that's when I decided to call an ambulance. I arrived at the hospital with severe dehydration at the molecular level (their words), I also had low potassium levels so they hooked me up to fluids, further tests revealed that it was type 3 dengue fever, a type that hadn't been seen where I live in many years, we usually get type 2 here during summer, so the local health authority called me a few days later to inquire about my habits, they are likely looking for the local source of that particular type of dengue before it spreads further.

    I still wonder if I might have had this a few years ago. I got SO sick back in 2014. It was July, which is obviously an unusual time to get sick or to get the flu. Plus, I was sure it wasn't the flu because I didn't have any respiratory symptoms whatsoever (no sore throat, cough, or runny/stuffy nose at all) and even though the flu is bad, whatever this was was ten times worse. The malaise and fatigue I felt was just unbelievable. I couldn't even get out of bed, and was literally crawling and dragging myself on the floor when I needed to get to the bathroom. It all started out with just this slight pain behind my eyes, which I just thought was weird. I get headaches sometimes, but this just felt different because they're never specifically just behind my eyes. Then over the next couple of days, I rapidly got worse. I started just feeling so weak and unable to get out of bed, and I'd have fevers coming and going. They got as high as 104 Fahrenheit (40 celsius). I remember just shaking and sweating uncontrollably. My headache got unbearable and painkillers really didn't help. I went to an urgent care clinic and the first thing they found was that I had a low platelet count. The doctor just told me to go home and rest, but to go to the ER if I got any worse. I did end up going to the ER, when my fevers just didn't stop, and I had also started being unable to keep anything down (even water). They found that my liver enzymes were extremely elevated and were surprised that I didn't have jaundice. I got tested for a few different things. They tested for the flu and mono...both of those seemed unlikely since I had no sore throat or other respiratory issues, and they did come back negative. They did think my symptoms sounded like they could be from a mosquito-borne virus, but they only tested me for West Nile and Chikungunya (both came back negative). I honestly hadn't even heard of Dengue Fever at that time. I only learned about it later, after I had recovered but someone told me that the symptoms I had had sounded a lot like Dengue. I was skeptical though, because I hadn't traveled to another country where Dengue and other mosquito-borne illnesses are typically contracted. The only place I had recently been was Disney World in Florida, about six weeks before I got sick. And I do live in the southern United States (Alabama to be exact), where bugs and mosquitos are everywhere, and getting bitten is pretty much just a part of life in the summer. But it definitely is very rare to contract Dengue anywhere in the US, so I don't know. I also didn't ever get a rash, and even though I had malaise and fatigue, I didn't really actually have joint pain, which is a common symptom of Dengue. All the doctors I saw were definitely perplexed and they never even figured out what I had. Thankfully, whatever it was, I did make a full recovery after about a week and a half. It was definitely the most awful illness I've ever experienced in my life, and I hope to never experience anything like it again!

      Every single thing you wrote is exactly what I experienced. I was backpacking in Guatemala and abrupty fell sick, it was out of this world...the pain, the fever, I was paralysed in my bed, crawling to the toilet, lost all muscle strength, could barely eat. Throughout the day I would shift between asleep and awake states, not knowing what is reality. At night I would have hypnotic dreams, hallucinating nightmares like I was on drugs. The worst state I've experienced in my life. I am almost positive it is Dengue fever. But I never got tested because I was in a remote village on the pacific coast, 8h away by bus from the nearest hospital. To this day (3 years later) I still don't know what took over my body and made me suffer that way. I survived it without any medical help, no medicine, suffered excruciating pain.....I was afraid to lose my life there. Since then I have had a low count of white blood cells (leukopenia). My immune system weakened and has never recovered.

    Tested positive for dengue with fever, swollen lymph nodes in neck and head, dehydration and headache and the rash. But what has remained for two months and counting is the inflammation in the muscles in my neck that feels like whiplash from a bad car accident, along with muscle inflammation in the heels of my feet, and joint pain and inflammation in the knuckles of my hands and at hips. Taking paracetamol or ibuprofen does not help. I've been consistently exercising lifting weights, using the pool and jacuzzi, getting massages and jogging. I had this last 2021. Had fever, chills, enlarged neck lymph nodes, low WBC and platelets almost below 150k. WORST experience of my life. Good thing we have this herbal med in my country, tawa-tawa (euphorbia hirta) which saved me from bleeding. As soon as i took it my platelets went up and normalized.

    Had Dengue in 2015. Original fever was 106 then a couple of days later I couldn't get out of bed and was puking blood which I think was coming from my teeth and sinuses.
    Spent most of the next 2 years barely functioning which ironically wasn't from the Dengue at all but was a reaction to the antibiotics I was given called Fluoroquinolone Toxicity. The cure was worse than the disease....

    I am so sick right now doctor came and thinks maybe it's Dengue fever but still gave me a corona test to do.
    Day 1 : Woke up with a very very strong headache, mild aches in shoulders and back and a bit of nausea. Took 1g paracetamol. I felt better and went on with my day. At night I started getting fever 38.5 and the aches in my back became very strong + small headache. Took 1 mg paracetamol made my fever go down, but back aches still hurt a bit.
    Day 2 : Woke up with fever 38.5. That when I called the doctor. Back aches were strong + slight nausea. Took 1mg paracetamol and felt much better. I was very tired. I slept when o woke up from my nap, I started crying because of the aches. Going from the shoulders all the way down my back and it had extended to my arms. My elbow joints particularly painful. Took 1g paracetamol. Got my fever down but I was still hurting everywhere. Felt pains in chest like painfull points in different part of my chest last from a few seconds to a few minutes.
    Day 3 : today, woke up with fever again. The aches are so bad they just got me tearing. Am switching to paracetamol 500mg + codeine 30mg. I called my doctor up and he said no more than 2g of paracetamol per day it can cause some kind of shock taking more she said i didnt inderstand well but she insisted sonc take more. But the pain is so strong is why am switching to codeine.

    • @Tanouuuu
      @Tanouuuu Před 2 lety +1

      @@ChristianHernandez-wt3zy Well no I didnt get tested cause well he knew right away it was dengue, and we had (at that time) a real bad dengue outbreak and almost zero covid, also my neighbors had dengue as well because there was a construction site in our street, they had built a pool and there was rain water at the bottom, like a freaking moskito factory😡 We had to do several complaints.
      I did get covid 6 months later, and honestly it was a walk in the park compared to dengue. I'd rather get covid 100%. I only got very mild muscle ache in my back for 2 days and a bit tired 2 extra days and I was back to normal.
      In the end I was sick for 5 full days with the dengue, and I mean can't get out of bed type of sick and suffering A LOT. Then it got me so weak I stayed in bed 2 extra days because I had vertigo. Maybe it was so severe cause it's the second time I got it, I'd had it like 10 years before and this virus can be worse the second time around.

    Ok so, I got eaten alive by mosquitos in the Peruvian Andes at about 1800m, biked to the next town to rest, and then vomited two nights later, just once, with chills and fever. I have had diarrhea for weeks due to antibiotics I took for another infection. Last night I smoked a very small amount of cannabis and stood up, felt dizzy, vision going, ears ringing, sat back down and LOST CONSCIOUSNESS in the middle of the park. I'm worried that I have Dengue Shock and that I'm going to die (or the weed was laced??? Been smoking the same batch for weeks no issues, very experienced long time user)
