I agree!! I’d love to try out their true color vari ND sometime, the results look amazing, it’s a bit pricey for my budget, but eventually I might have to pick one up! 🙌
Does the regular VND have haptic feedback (a "click" feel) at each stop like the VND+Mist filter? Are there female threads on the VND to stack something in front of it, or would this have to be the last in a stack?
Great question! the regular ends don't have any clicks at any stop, it's smooth throughout rotation. and no female threads so the vnd will have to be the last to stack
Thanks for the advice about the filters, I will check out the freewell ND filter, my cheap no name filter creates some strange rainbow effect sometimes 😅
Of course I’m glad to help! :) Nice, it’s definitely worth the investment in my opinion! I get you, that would happen on my Gobe filter and I wouldn’t notice much until looking at the footage on my laptop haha!
Hey thanks so much for watching Fabian I appreciate it! :) And that’s awesome I’m happy to help, I definitely feel like the Freewell is one of the best price and value nd filters on the market! 🙌
I need to upgrade my variable ND 😭 I have a pro master which isn’t terrible for photo but it’s not ideal for video. Especially since I’ve been doing more video lately.
I'm thinking of buying the Freewell 2-5 stop VND for video on my Sony RX10IV. Is this filter compatible with a lens hood? And is it possible to adjust the VND without having to take off the lens hood? Im using the stock lens hood which is a tulip shaped one.
Hello! I believe you would need to shoot without the lens hood for the filter to fit since the vnd is two pieces of glass, it's a bit thicker than smaller uv filters. However I never shoot with a lens hood so it hasn't been an issue for me. Let me know if this helps!
@@Koensol No problem! Personally, I don’t feel like it negatively impacts my image and sometimes if I do get a lens flare I try to embrace it as long as it’s not too distracting!
hi, if you put both filter on the lens like you did at the end of the video, and assuming the first filter on top of your lens (mist) is a 82mm diameter, does the external (nd) filter have to be the same diameter as the mist (82mm) or 1 size bigger? Or shortcut, are both filters the same diameter? Thank you!!
Hello! I just recived my first camera, Sony ZV E10 with the 11 mm Sony lens. I want go avoid vignetting, i heard that is difficult with wide lenses.. maybe of i get a big stepup ring, maybe from 55 to 77mm? One person told me is better to buy fixed ND filters, maybe i can get 3 stop, 6 and 10. What do you recommend? Thanks!
Fixed nd filters don’t vignette at all so if you do want to avoid I’d recommend fixed nd’s :) However variable nd’s are incredibly convenient and even on a wide like an 11mm you shouldn’t experience terrible vignetting that will ruin your shot. Hope this helps!
Nisi is killing it! Even their solid ND's, basically zero colourshift! :)

Question: Are these Stackable? Does the NISI Have front threading for the Freewell ND? You have them stacked but I want to confirm.
Yeah they are stackable! I use both majority of the time and the nisi black mist does have front threading :)
@@victor.melchorfilm Thank you so sooo much, I'm ordering mine now yahooo
@@flyfastmedia Of course and that’s awesome, have fun shooting!! 🙌
Such a good video as always. Especially for me because I'm looking for an new nd filter, Thanks Victor ✌🏻

Keep up the great content, man!
Thanks so much Jerry! 🙌
Great review! I use Gobe, Moment and Tiffen and will check these out as well! Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching Dionne! :) Nice, yes freewell and Nisi are great I’m happy to help! 🙌

Hi! Nisi creates a lot blix ? Flare ?
Yeah It does make the flare look a bit more! :)
thinking to buy the nice bm 1/8. anyway, subscribed😉
Nice!! It’s been a great filter for me so far!

Hey, great video! May I ask if you tested the Freewell VND filter on a wide angle lens and if so how did it perform in terms of any vignetting please?
Thanks for watching! :) I have used it on my tamron 17-28 and while there was a little, it wasn’t overwhelming nor did it ruin my shots!
@@victor.melchorfilm Great, thanks. You meant it while using only the VND on 17mm, i.e not stacked with the mist as well, right?
@@hejlsberg Oh no even with my filters stacked at 17 there is no vignette :) slightly darker corners but nothing out of the ordinary with any vnd!

Does the Nisi filters use with lens cap without taking off them 🤔️
Not sure I understand the question what do you mean? Happy to help!
You put it together on the lens?
Yep!
@@victor.melchorfilmdo you put mist filter on first then nd filter , is that the correct way to do it ? I would prefer that
is that freewell vnd with mist in it? so is it vnd + mist together or can be used without mist as well?
This is the regular freewell vnd but they do offer a vnd mist as well! But the regular one which is what I have can be used without mist :)
i tried stacking my freewell vnd filter to my NiSi mist filter but the vnd filter doesnt get tight. do you have any advice on how to fix it? Thanks.
Did you put your mist filter first?
I typically just screw them and keep rotating until it’s tight enough. Just don’t screw it too tight because if you do it may be difficult to take off
@@victor.melchorfilm mine just keeps turning and doesnt even get tight.
@@WhatsCarlUpTo Hmm that’s weird, are you using a step up ring or screwing it directly onto the lens?
@@victor.melchorfilm directly on the lens
