  • This video covers the steps for adding an expression pedal to the NeuralDSP Quad Cortex digital guitar processor
    This video is intended for those that may have some familiarity with the Quad Cortex but may not have used an expression pedal before, or need a refresher on the configuration steps.
    The video references information listed in the Quad Cortex User Manual. This video was made in November 2021 with CorOS 1.0.3. Other firmware versions may have differences. Check the NeuralDSP User Manual for more information.

    This was exactly the video I needed! Thank you! And my OCD thanks you for making the matching pedals for both my Kemper AND my new Quad Cortex! 🙌🏻

    Pro tip from me, if you just got it today like me and don't have a TRS cable at hand because Thomann didn't feel the need to tell you. You can use an Aux Cable with 6.3 mm adapter jacks as a provisional cable. Don't know though if it makes a difference.

    So basically every parameter of any effect blocks can be assigned to an expression pedal or LFO generator like copilot broadcast?? Most of the parameters of wet effects like reverbs delays choruses etc? Right? Thnx❤

    How long do the trs cables need to be to reach between the pedal and the unit?

    I have a mission pedal and the QC. Can I run the pedal as an Octave Sweep and a Wah but switch between the two so I can run the Octave sweep without the Wah engaging & vice versa? I haven’t figured it out yet.

    • @tjhall9377
      @tjhall9377 Před 2 lety

      What you could do is set two scenes - one where the Octave Sweep parameters are set to do nothing (like set heel position to do 0 semitones, and toe position to do 0 semitones...then the effect will do nothing. Or, you can set the blend to be 0 percent for that scene) even though the pedal will "act" on that effect) and then one where the Wah does nothing, effectively bypassing each one depending on what effect you *don't* want to use and even though the blocks will turn on and off at the same time, you can switch between scenes to determine which one will actually perform the effect.

      Which Mission pedal model are you using? The SP1-ND in this video has one expression function and one switch function. Can you explain more about what you are trying to do and what exactly is not working?

    I've an issue where 1 is mid way through pressing the expression pedal, it goes 0 to 1 then back to 0. Using Van Damme TRS Cables.

    Does it work as wah and volume at the same time?

  • @somebassdude
    @somebassdude Před 2 lety

    I've got a strange issue. When I press the toe switch, the position jumps to 0. When I release it, it slowly climbs to 1 again. This way, I can't use it as a switch since it always ends back at 1.

    • @JamesLebihan
      @JamesLebihan  Před 2 lety

      Are you using the Mission SP1-ND or a different expression pedal? Make sure that you are using two TRS (stereo) cables, normal TS instrument cables won't work. Make sure to calibrate both as in the video. For the SP1-ND, latch emulation should be turned OFF.

    Can you use the expression pedal as a volume and then engage the toe switch to turn on the wah and use it as a wah pedal.
    I think the kemper does this

    • @JamesLebihan
      @JamesLebihan  Před 2 lety

      someone can correct me if I am wrong but I don't think a 'wah to volume' toggle such as on the Kemper Profiler is available on the QC yet.

    • @mbadge2477
      @mbadge2477 Před 2 lety

      @@JamesLebihan I was given this advise on the QC discord channel.
      add a gain block, and a wah block. Map the pedal sweep (EXP 1 if that's where you plugged it in) to both as you wish (you'll need to adjust the max sweep on the volume block to avoid it being a boost at full toe). Connect the switch to EXP 2 and assign it to the bypass functions of the volume and wah blocks but invert one of them that will switch one "on" and the other "off" each time you hit the switch. You'll need to change the mode of operation to switch when you assign it. but it should make sense once you're in there.
      Not sure if the above works as I don't own the pedal
