- Van Wesley Stephenson (November 4, 1953 - April 8, 2001) was an American singer-songwriter. He scored two US Billboard Hot 100 hits in the 1980s as a solo artist, and later became tenor vocalist in the country music band BlackHawk in the 1990s. In addition, Van co-wrote several singles for other artists, such as Restless Heart. Van died of melanoma in 2001.

Never heard this song until today and instantly loved it! Born in 1981 so I couldn't appreciate the 80's until my teens. Others were listening to current hits and I was rocking the 80's.
Even my grandkids know this song...lol can't escape the 80's in my family.

Van Stephenson co-wrote a bunch of hits for the country/pop group Restless Heart. He would later join the country group BlackHawk in the early '90s.

been looking for it for 2 years now, they only seem to have his 2nd album, Suspicious Heart, on there. Then again, there are a SLEW of artists who aren't on Spotify it seems, or have missing cuts from their catalog.

The rarest artists are miles better than popular artists.....I love this stuff sounds like 1979 aor rock.....shampoo in a song lyric! So cool. That guitar riff is like a steel cutting chainsaw....he sounds like Lou Gramm of Foriegner.....Kiss has a song called Modern Day Delilah.....it's crap.
