    This is truly awesome. Something completely different from everything we've already seen in the contest. Completely memorable. Do we have a potential dark horse here? Yes, we do.
    BTW, the lead singer was recovering from a bronchitis in this performance, her vocals are usually way better.

      Same, the song is amazing. I genuinely don't understand some of Rachel's comments. "I'm lost, the melody keeps jumping" is such a bizarre comment given that e.g. Switzerland's melody jumps around far more (the opening verse has nothing to do with the rest of the song) and she has no problems with it. Perhaps the tinnines of the guitar and the weak vocals obscured the melody for her (understandable; the sound mixing and vocals were pretty bad in the live performance, but in the studio version they're a lot better), but there's still definitely a melody in there, and it's really good. Calling it pastiche is also very weird given it literally mixes existing genres (rock, punk, pop, flamenco) and is unlike any other song in this Eurovision. I'd love to see Rachel's reaction to the studio version of the song; I'm sure it will be very different.

Also, the fact megara are representing San Marino this year and nebulossa are representing Spain when they competed in the other contests previously 😁.
    I think given the lack of punk rock this year, this is cool to have and I’d like it to qualify, but semi 2 is now equally as stacked as semi 1.

    I liked their song last year way better than this one, but I'm happy they made their way into the contest. This song feels like it's been rushed in order to have something ready for this year's qualifiers, and I agree it lacks something. The sanmarinese audio quality and camera work doesn't help, but I think they could do way better. Still enjoy them, but I understand your opinion.

  • @TheFloon
    @TheFloon Před 3 měsíci +1

    Always appreciate your honesty. This one lands at a similar place for me. The chorus sounds kinda like Gwen Stefani "What You Waiting For" but worse. I've heard this probably 6 or more times now and I still can't really remember how it goes. If it weren't for the little spanish guitar section I don't think I'd like anything about it. On a side note, it's so weird to me that in a fully jury voted system, a song that was a 2nd chance entry ended up winning the whole thing.

  • @HPelao
    @HPelao Před 2 měsíci

    • @triadafillos1
      @triadafillos1 Před 2 měsíci

      this flamenco guitar bit is for me the worst element of this song, it sounds coming out of the blue, it has no coherence to the vibe of the song and it sounds like "let's put a traditional sound to the song just to give an ethnic touch...", but for me that does not really work, it makes the song sound like a big mess

  • @kennet7837

    Considering it's San Marino, this is surprisingly high quality, and certainly a huge step up from last year (though compared to "Arcadia" it's a downgrade). Just to point out, I think it is a bit unfair comparing life performances with studio versions where everything sounds perfect and then in real life... 😬 Plus San Marino doesn't organise the best national selection in terms of technical resources! I really enjoyed Arcadia. This is a weaker song. And even though I kind of like the visuals in the live performance, the live sound seems kind of flat and not too interesting. It's true that her voice needs to be emphasized more in Malmø. But now it turnes out that semi 2 is quite strong as well. So even from a starting point in the second half of the second semi I think San Marino might struggle. But Spain is voting in their semi, so I guess Megara will at least get a good score from their home country. Will it be enough though?

  • @nick3805
    @nick3805 Před 2 měsíci

    I personally like 11:11, through I do have to admit that the NF-Performance was indeed on the weaker Side. I suspect that the Mixing was an Issue, this happens in NFs all the Time and sometimes even in Eurovision itself (Samo Mi se Spava is a prime Example - we know that Luke Black can sing well, his NF Performance was vocally solid, but both of his Eurovision Stages were an utter Desaster because the Vocals were too quiet and overpowered by the Instrumental). Someone also mentioned that she was sick when performing, so this may have also played Part in this.
    What we also shouldn't forget is that San Marino's NF doesn't exactly have the biggest Funding.
    But overall, not liking an Entry is totally okay. I can't say to understand in the slightest what the Hype for "La Noia" is about too, for example - for me it sounds a bit half-baked and as if it never reached it's full Potential.

      @@Justjus__ 2021 and 2022 are more unique compared to normal Eurovision, maybe because of the coronovirus there was more songs to choose from. 2021 for instance had entrants come back after the cancelled 2020 with better songs. By 2023 I think it was more back to normal.

    I'm into alt music but really can't love this, as much as I try! There's something just.....missing for me. Despite the band clearly being talented, I just can't vibe with it

    Doesn’t really vibe with me either. After a tight battle with Austria this went to the last place on my list. Sorry San Marino.

    I like this song - and not just because it was by far the best song at the longest and most harrowing national final I put myself through this season (what. is. San Marino. FOR?). It's been living at #10 in my rankings for the last couple weeks, and we're almost out of songs.
