- Now that the Akuma gameplay trailer has been released, it's time to do our in-depth breakdown. We go through all the footage frame by frame, talking about everything we see and theorizing how powerful he will be. It turns out Akuma has a ton of new tools to explore in Street Fighter 6, and we can expect to see more updates very soon. Very exciting.

I'm spooked of Akuma getting a Juri style st mk,
if you hit it close he connects with the knee and can cancel it into specials, but from afar he extends his foot forward and it works as a poke.
Also I wonder what the heck all of these Target Combos are about, I get a feeling they're emphasizing hit confirms with him which could be HUGE since he'll come out with the Season 2 patch, it could signify what direction they're going with the update
I think you might be right actually. Replaying the video he does stick out his knee FIRST then the foot out for the poke. That's probably what they'll do

Facts which is my favorite version of akuma and the streets fighter 6 is few years after 3rd strike.....the dude on the CZcams channel must be not a true street fighter fan...and he even complained about him being "tOo bEefY" akuma supposed to be big look he most of forgot about the streets fighter alpha days and etc smh while Ryu have to look up at akuma 😒🍵.....

@@GinkgoPete watch the streets fighter alpha anime...and besides akuma is a demon warrior which means he's supposed to be intimidating...if a akuma is small and short... he will look less threatening and to be honest, boring to play with...

14:34 An explanation on the fireballs. If you pay attention they show 3 versions. Normal is without charge. Then you can charge it a little bit by holding the button and it has 2 hits. We see in the sequence when he is on the right side how he blows a normal fireball from Ryu and hits him once, the charge happens once, it just goes red. The third time we see it against the denjin fireball he charges longer, there is a second charge when his hands are back and it pops off into the molten fireball. This one has 3 hits, so naturally ate the 2 hits from the Denjin and then hit once more on Ryu.

They did everything I can think of visually and a lot of the moves aswell, I somehow wanted a little more but he is hype don't get me wrong, I bet his pressure and setup are gonna me fuxced. wanted stuff like a Air demon but I'm happy

We may not be looking at the full version of his level 3. A lot of ppl are hating on it saying it’s a copy like the one Luke got. Lily’s level 3 wasn’t the full version when we first saw it. I could be wrong, but we’ll see.

The blog says demon is his CA, but that would imply that he either loses the normal super input or demon doesn't have the infamous lp lp > lk hp input

There are some speculations about Akuma having a “perfect” fireball, releasing the button at a specific timming, similar to Luke and Rashid, this will be the red fireball.
The normal fireball is 14f at startup and the fully charged is 34f, the red one will be the middle ground. The OD version maybe ignores that.
Akuma is moving like a demon as well in this game, so good.

What if Akuma can vary the timing of when he cancels back teleport into the teleport grab? If he can do it earlier than the timing in the video, that will be nuts.

The extended medium kick and the knee I think are the same move. It looks like if the kick kits close enough it just ends with the knee. If the kick is a bit farther it finishes the whole kick animation. Making it an easier button to whiff punish without removing the knee animation

Akumas classic outfit is referencing his sf3 look with the grey hair so technically there is a sf3 character in the game

I know it's the name of the move that stuck with him ever since Street Fighter 3 but if you look closely again, he's no longer flipping while doing the demon flip. It's just a jump with a twirl LOL😅

I’m sure that red fireball is charge now is to free up inputs for modern control. I wonder what he will lose for modern controls. Probably the one character it’s a hard nope to play modern controls since he will lose too many moves.
Akuma's trailer at normal speed is like x1.25 for me
His Drive impact reminds me Ryu's counter move from OMEGA sf4 🤔
1:15 this move is really reminiscent of Oni's f + lk in sf4, I think its the same move.

When Akuma does the OD are Fireball I'm not sure if the fireball hit him before he hits the ground or the OD version causes some type of explosion when it hits the ground
In the od version he throws 2 fire balls

Every reveal trailer showed the character's parry animation except for Akuma. Maybe his teleport is his parry?
I would assume there might be changes to parry on this build and they don’t want to show it yet.

I'm trying to figure out how Akuma's new punching move is being compared to the Hashogeki (short rangr energy blast) or the palm strike thing from his world tour reveal.... Like... They're clearly punches.....

Will modern player have to do light light forward light heavy for Raging demon? Or will they have a shortcut?

As a Akuma main, I don't like that they brought back the heavy tatsu from SFV. It's cool but it is very situational

I could be wrong but he looks really slow in this game and why is his demon flip now a Monkey hop like he's Rajang from Monster Hunter. 👀 Another thing there's no way he's the last character for the entire year right? 👀 👀
The thing is Ryu is that he struggled with Satsui no Hado for however many years, goes through all this strife and turmoil but comes out the other end with no development or gameplay changes. Why even bother having him take a higher path “power of nothing” opposite of Satsui no Hado just to not use any of it in the sequel. The most gameplay development he has had is hop kick from Kage (f+HK), Ryu had cooler gameplay options in SF5.
If it's not obvious to you Capcom is trying to replace ryu his story is effectively done in sf5 the only thing left is ryu vs akuma and that may be in akumas sf6 ending I think ryu has found his path and is at peace only fighting for leisure or hobby in his eyes he has reached the top and doesn't need to go further akuma is thematically the opposite and that's the point akuma has given everything in pursuit of power and I feel if you sell your soul for power you better be stronger than anyone else
The stand medium kick is gonna be the same as Evil Ryu's, where its a proximity that does the full extend from afar but the knee up close. We see this in the trailer
Sf6 doesn't have proximity normals though

@21Handguns why would they start adding in a mechanic they removed for good in SFV (after expirment with it being gone 3) more likely he's going to have a command normal where his leg is fully extended.
I'm taking a guess that its a f + mk command normal, as sf6 doesn't have close/far distinctions on normals

I'm talking CvS 2 Shin Akuma health. Giefs CA > all the Akuma Hype. ESPECIALLY if they buff Gief. It might not be all good for Akuma like we think.
