2 . Contrast: On the contrary, However.
3 . Give example: For instance, To illustrate.
4 . Give your opinion: From my perspective, From my point of view.
5 . Generalise: Overall, All things considered.
6 . To express certainty: Undoubtedly, Of course.
7 . To express partial agreement: In a way, To some extent.
8 . Show cause: Owing to, Due to.
9 . Show effect: For this reason, Consequently.
10 . Mark time: To begin with, Following this.
11 . Add information: Furthermore, Moreover.
12 . Express condition: Unless, Provided that.
13 . To conclude: In summary, In short.

Great to see you covering writing, Lucy. It's generally the neglected skill and I've certainly found it a struggle to get my writing at C level German and Russian up to the level of my other skills.
As an online writer who majored in English Literature, I found your tips on writing really effective. As an advanced level speaker with good writing skills, I found all your tips relatable. Your points on not checking my work to using complex sentences, they were all so effective, as I am guilty of all quoted mistakes above from time to time. Even, here I've used some complex sentences. A very useful piece of advice! Thank you! I will make a list of key phrases and will learn them by heart. It's so easy. Why haven't I never thought about that?!
I have one more tip. As a teacher I accept only handwritten pieces of writting, not printed ones, as I want my students to think about their spelling and not rely on computer's correction. It takes way more time to check because not everyone's handwriting is easy to decode, but it's really worth doing as it brings great results. Love your videos, Lucy 😘
*Great* ! Number 1 and 4 *go hand in hand* ( = work very well together, exist together) - use easy language and lower the word count, it will get you such higher scores on your IELTS or TOEFL by making it easier to read. *Informative video!*
