Thanks 😊😊😊!!! You can use light glazes of transparent colours; with the brush the process is more controlled and you can place the tone precisely where needed, it's just a bit slower 😉
Lovely job Marco. If we swap out the white paint for dark brown, the thick mix looks like it may work nicely for a WW1 trench style mud......or do you have a good mud mix up your sleeve? Brilliant work as always mate!!!!
Thanks!!! Oh yeah it could be a valid option for mud; I usually use fine clay soil as main texture but the various binding agents can be the same (you can add a good amount of gloss varnish in the mix for a wet mud effect). The application in particular can be almost the same!
Thanks for this Marco. In the video it seems like you're covering a lot of the work underneath the snow effect. If I want a heavy snowed covered base , do you need to have much detail underneath this snow?
It's a pleasure! If you plan to cover most of the base with an heavy snow you don't need a lot of details but just some interesting volumes (a bit of movement underneath instead of a flat surface makes all the difference!) and a very simple and quick paintjob! In this case I had the bases ready from another video and I wanted to show different level of coverage so something more detailed was useful

This one is perfect for a little bit of snow. Do you have any suggestions for a base with a huge amount of snow? Like 30cm or more in real life, with models legs partially sunk under it?
The techniques are cool, but I'm honestly worried at how the sodium bicarbonate will hold out... It has a habit of reacting to atmosphere and other things... Last time I used it with snow effects, it looked great... until it started turning brownish yellow over time...
That's why I added a bunch of white paint inside 😉 I used this recipe for years (even on my old Khador army! So I can guarantee that even after years the snow it's totally the same) : when bicarbonate is sealed inside glue and paint is totally safe 😊

Nei negozi di modellismo costano un occhio, ma su ebay si trovano a prezzi ragionevoli. Ne ho comprati letteralmente una mucchia l'anno scorso come souvenir dalla Corea 😅

Per quell'effetto a seconda di quanto vuoi far sentire la contaminazione con la terra puoi o usare un marrone per definire i volumi (come ho usato blu e viola nel video) o aggiungere una puntina di colore direttamente nell'impasto. In entrambi i casi metterei nel mix anche una bella dose di trasparente lucido e/o più gel acqua per dare l'idea della neve sciolta che torna acquetta

@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Scusa l' O.T. Questa sera stavo provando gli inchiostri Liquitex seguendo un il tuo stile sulla pelle di un Straken. Finiti di fare i vari passaggi sulla pelle ho dato una mano di varnish matte vallejo( la pelle era venuta molto molto lucida prima di questo passaggio). Ho aspettato un pochino che si asciugasse e per curiosità ho provato a dare una mano di reikland flashshade diluito 50% con il lahmian medium. Ho cominciato a stenderlo sulla pelle in maniera delicata e all'improvviso il colore ha cominciato a staccarsi e a sciogliersi formando una poltiglia grigiastra. La pittura era irrecuperabile per cui ho strippato il modello dalla vernice. Peccato era venuto molto bello!!!! Hai qualche idea su cosa possa essere successo??? Io brancolo veramente nel buio. Vorrei evitare che mi risucedesse di nuovo. Magari con gli inchiostri bisogna avere qualche accortezza aggiuntiva Scusami per il Wall of text Grazie mille!!! Scusami il disturbo.

Gli inchiostri ci mettono un pelo di più ad asciugare rispetto ad altri colori e negli strati profondi restano attivi più a lungo anche se in superficie sembrano asciutti; il problema non é tanto l'inchiostro ma più il medium contenuto nel wash che per le sue proprietà e l'umidità che porta va a riattivare il colore sotto. Prova ad aspettare un pelo di più prima del wash (puoi usare l'asciugacapelli, ma meglio a bassa temperatura) e si risolve da solo. La cosa "strana" é che sia successo sopra al protettivo il che mi fa sospettare un po' del primer; cosa usi per quello?
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM come primer ho usato il vallejo bianco, dopodiché ho dato una mano di abbadon black e da li sono partito. Al primo tentativo non mi é venuta benissimo la pelle e al posto che strippare la miniatura gli ho dato sopra una mano di inchiostro nero non diluito e da li sono ripartito. Magari avere un inchiostro sotto tutto ha indebolito la capacità di adesione della vernice? Grazie mille dei consigli!!
@@francescochiappe9495 é un piacere! Potrebbe essere stato il primer Vallejo che é un po' liscio e gommoso, ma sicuramente la causa principale é lo strato di inchiostro non ancora perfettamente solido. Tienimi aggiornato!
Yes it does as part of its oxidation process that's why adding white paint is extremely important! The mix with paint seals the powder (that's only the textural part of the mix) in the acrylic medium and the white pigment makes the colour stable
