    Drove this as a rental for a week in Florida. Great power. Pulls really well. Do not hit corners in this. You will feel that body roll. Very very comfortable vehicle. Felt like the windows were a bit small to get that premium visibility all around the vehicle. Sits pretty high but the front and rear camera really helps out.

    • @boss290t
      @boss290t Před 4 lety +2

      Matthew Moscotto interesting. Rented one last week and I was able to push it through mountain corners in anger and it retained its composure. The engine when revved had more than enough pull. My only complaint was the brakes , the car exhibited bad brake fade towards the end of the rental. I had by then covered 3000 miles, many of them mountainous and at over 110mph, so I guess they held up decently

    before anyone gets salty, its S.H.O. This is an acronym for Super High Output. in 1989, Ford worked with the S.H.O. sporting a 3.0L Yamaha built engine with a 0-60 of under 7 seconds. the third generation changed things up with a 3.4L V8 which had some problems. then, in 2010, the Taurus S.H.O. was back with AWD, Super High Output 2 turbo 6 Cylinder and a 0-60 time of about 6 seconds. it later progressed into the base model mustang as the base naturally used a V6. the S.H.O. can also be associated with the FPI Taurus(ford Police Interceptor) and the FPIU (Ford Police Interceptor Utility). the Utility is a Explorer Sport and the FPI is a Taurus S.H.O.. Now that Ford has discontinued their Sedans, they will be dropping the S.H.O. and using the 360hp engine for other automobiles. the only reason the engine was out in the Mustang was for the new laws that forced Economic versions of sports and muscle cars produced in america paramount over the larger engine models. my overall point is, it is not pronounce SHO (Sh Ow), bot S. H. O.

A class-action lawsuit was filed last year and finalized. please make sure you accelerate and test to make sure yours does not have the issue. plenty of info online about these problems. Good luck.

    Wife had minor issue with radio display in her 2016 Edge SEL and long story short when took to dealer ended up trading for new 2017 Explorer Limited Black 2.3 with Ecoboost. Great vehicle plenty of power! At least I thought it did. It had a minor crack in turn signal lens and they ordered one so when we took it back for repair we were just on lot looking while they were working on it. Jokingly I said to our sales rep if he made me a good enough deal would trade my 2015 Ford Edge Titanium which I love and only had 17,000 miles for a new 2017 Explorer Sport. Drove home a Silver one that day. Owned a lot of vehicles in my life never one as nice as this one and for an SUV the power is amazing. One of those vehicle you just want to get out and drive. Because employer provides a vehicle don’t drive my personal one much and am gonna hate that with this one. Had back surgery last week and worst news was I can’t drive for at least two weeks so went out and started it today just to hear it run. Both vehicles are amazing but my Sport has a Sport feel. Now this is the family line up of Explorers...parent 2016 Platinum....sister 2015 Limited...wife 2017 Limited...niece 2017 Limited...and of course mine which is the best. You might say we don’t care much for Explorers in our family...yeah right

      Slapp no issues at all. Really like them both. I did trade my Sport a few months back for a 2020 Limited. Went to just drive one didn’t intend to trade but they made me too good a deal. The 2020 has a 2:3 4 cylinder eco boost with more horsepower than the Sport. Great vehicles.

You are forgetting how Ford rip off people in the 90's and 2000's with they poorly made products, timing chain, engine running rough and stalling for unknow reason, the Ford 555rs transmission use on the stupid Exploder those were great lemons.

  • @jamesdewer
    @jamesdewer Před 5 lety +1

    I rented one a 2019 3.6 with the twin turbo over the weekend the 4th of July weekend I own an Infiniti 2017 qx50 with about equal power. The Ford actually felt more more powerful. I was doing runs to 100mph in nothing. It would cruise at 100 and you wouldn't even feel it, it felt like 70. Considering its size and heft it cornered flat. Brakes were totally solid
    Quality was what you would expect. Feel? There was none. Dead and insulated from even the biggest potholes detached is a good description. But it gathered it's bulk and moved like JJ in Wats Happening. Hankook tires.

    • @Tigeron1a
      @Tigeron1a Před 4 lety

      jamesdewer I have one and I can say the same, it’s surprisingly quick for such a beast of a car BUT it’s planted, does more that you would expect, it is light years ahead of its former versions as far as handling. The steering is exactly what I’d expect being an suv, it’s num at best. BUT that’s not necessarily a bad or good thing for this car as it’s meant for being a highway cruiser that it’s supposed to be. So with that said it’s very comfortable. You can take this on long drives and not feel all beat up with overly taught suspension, or feedback that will translate to you with every single pebble on the road. I’ve had those cars before. Having sports cars before yes there fun sure, but on a long drive they leave you tired.

    It's a attractive suv and specs are interesting but it's not a reliable one and it is very fragile

    To use the voice command you used "I'm hungry" were you connected to Siri? It seems the navigation without Siri has a lot of steps to go through.

      For the money and long term care i would take the explorer

    • @FireR53
      @FireR53 Před 6 lety +1

      Your cost of ownership is cheaper with the sport, more value, cheaper to repair and maintain

    • @robbiehernandez8019
      @robbiehernandez8019 Před 6 lety +1

      They don't compare at all, no one buying a brand new Range Rover Sport is going to be looking at an Explorer. The Ford will be more reliable and cost less to maintain but if you can afford a RRS you wouldn't care.

    I like the sport and the xlt blacktop package..other then that i don't like the look..and here is the problem.
    the look of the inside with the blacktop package looks bad on the seats. and the sport package is less packed and more money then the limited which is better.
