- Who remembers when you could go to an ice cream van on a British summer's day afternoon and buy a mr whippy cone for 99P?
Well we can remember these days, but they seem to be a distant memory.
we often find that in london or manchester city centres ice cream vans can be charging as much as £4 for a humble mr whippy ice cream.
ice creams should still be 99p in our opinion, so we are taking on the challenge of searching the whole of the UK for a mr whippy ice cream that is sold for 99p.
do you think we will be able to find one?
this is the third installment of this fun youtube series.
we travel to liverpool in the north west of england to see if we can find some 99p 99 mr whippy walls ice cream along their docks.
in this video we head on a road trip of the north of england.
we start in a town outside leeds, head to leeds city centre, we hit up morcombe (the how town of tyson fury), the lake district (lake windermere, bowness on windermere and rydal) and finally end up inn manchester (heaton park).
We also find some strawberry sauce too.

I remember them being 99p. Definitely not gonna find it for that price in lake District. I did buy one for £2 a couple of months ago, in Prestwich. So not too far for you guys to go.

I remember the street vans being £1 until about 10~ years ago. Having said that the local van that stops outside my home does a proper ice cream cone (not whippy) for £1.60. I believe which is good value considering inflation etc (south Manchester). There used to be 2 mr whippys that would also come round but I haven’t seen them for years!
i saw a shop in weymouth which a mr whippy was 99p without a flake in may

Yo I know a place in the uk taht have a mr whippy for 99p in Armagh in Northern Ireland in a shop called cup and cone and if you ask for a kids 99 for 99p they give you basically a full size whippy.

Surely the best bet would be some random van in the middle of some random poor suburb somewhere. Anywhere touristy or beachy is going to charge more.
There's loads of ice cream vans in Leeds about over 100 vans atleast over their some are £2 and £1.50 or 3.50 I am from frome somerset my family are from Leeds so I'm always visiting up there and I also have family in folkestone aswell they have ice cream vans selling 99flake for £1 and vans where live in frome still sell at £1.50 used to be 50p when I was little then 99p and then £1 then £1.20 and now 1.50/£2 they where ice cream vans selling at 50p 80p 99p and £1 some are still today but not many left that still do so that ice cream man is wrong they have bean cheaper before and some still are £1 £1.50 today
You can get it in India for like 20-30p
That is if you go with a local to buy one🤝🏻
In leeds, try go up near the core shopping centre! Theres an ice cream van up there x
You probably won't find one for 99p but in Whitley bay which is a bit up from Newcastle there's plenty of ice cream shops and vans if you know where to look
I found one for £2 on the Norfolk Cost, Walcott Beach. There is an ice-cream van there selling them. Very good quality ❤ lowest I have seen in a long time
You can get different flaavour whippys in cromer up the road
When I was younger in hithe at the beach there was an ice cream van called mrs Rio’s and they are either 99p or a little bit more not sure so would love if you could check

Go to Lowestoft as they have very cheap ice creams, it is also the most Eastern point in the UK

Have you tried the Riverside Park in Chester Le Street, Co Durham as the Kings Cafe ice cream is gorgeous and their vans used to come down my old street in Consett, Co Durham just 13 miles west of Chester Le Street
