This re-edit really demonstrates how unnatural the original clip order was: Shadow arrives in the city, aliens appear from the portal and fight soldiers, then shadow arrives in the city AGAIN, then aliens appear from the portal AGAIN. In this version, aliens arrive, soldiers fight them, and then Shadow finally appears to take the aliens on. The flashback explains Shadow's history with GUN before you see him actually take them on. Brilliant work making this into a much more coherent story!
Years go by and they never remaster the game, and no remaster is made by the fans.... maybe we will have a remaster or adaptation of the game in about 50 years.👍

During Generation VI and VII of the Gaming industry, there were many titles that would intentionally have unique cutscenes produced to represent the same thing in different versions: Planetary Pieces (Unleashed) did this in at least Three instances (Classic Sonic running in the corner while Trophies were loaded, as well as the Havok logo before the Title Screen and the Spinning Sun and Moon Emblem during the Day to Night Menu Transition are all only present in the PlayStation 03 version), and what you have done here with Shadow the Hedgehog (2005)'s CG Cutscenes to deliver a more linear and coherent opening feels like something that Sonic Team would've done had the game gotten a Multi~Generational release to better present the narrative in its Upper Version for the Generation VII release; in the event that we ever see any mods to deliver all of the unused material or a port done in a similar vein to ChaosX's P~06 with a hefty amount of optimizations, I could easily envision this version of the cutscene and maybe even a third incarnation loading up dependent on one's game save, having different ones produced for when the previous play session ended on a specific mission alignment (Hero, Neutral, or Dark) would definitely be fitting and easily fits the direction that the game went for and in a way would feel like a callback to Adventure II's handling of Custom Themes that it'll deliver a solid uplift over what the original game already delivered.
Istg a remake/reimagined ver of this game would go so hard. I hate that they haven’t even tried. All bc of “a hEdGehOg wIt a gUn iS duMb”, Sega prob one of the only companies that gets burned for trying something new and it’s sad.
Things like this make me want shadow to get his own spin off series more and more. Just notch up the rating a bit to m or higher and I’m sure sega can pull it off.
Someone needs to do a fan remake with this as the intro and give Shadow a aimimg mode for using his gun where the camera pans behind him and a reticle and get rid of that Heroes-like slipperyness while giving it a fluid full main story to follow. That would be nice. More likely to come from the fans at this point than Sega themselves.
This new opening is awesome, I loved the part where the lightning strikes behind shadown and at the end he walks with the city exploding behind him while his spiked hair moves, beautiful. I didn't like that they removed the sonic and his friends part, but it leaves a gap for a third opening with the lightning part and the explosion with shadow, along with the sonic and his friends part, cool, sonic is one of the series and franchises that But I love games, comics and the first cartoon from the decade, I think the nineties. Waiting for a new sonic game in adventure action style like arcade or 3d blast, platform and racing multiplayer online with the characters sonic, talis, amy, spio, bee, croc, big, cream, Sally, scourge team, jet team, mighty, mina, ray, knuckles, honey, more one flyng male animal, shadown, rouge, robot, silver, blaze, more one flyng male animal, a new monkey like in the film 3d animation with the participation of sega sonic designers but who knows a version with tribal tattoo gold eyes a kusarigama and maybe the power of magic with jenny jellyfish pirate on the team is a grasshopper mantis or cricket something like that and one or two more trios of villains and powers and symbols that are more well thought out than the Switch racing game, more faithful to the game as well and special features specific to each character, I think it would be awesome. Dude, this was HIGHLY impressive, *_very_* well done. Some of those scenes I remember, some I don't, but it was put together _amazingly._ I think the only note I possibly have is that I would've kept that outro where Sonic falls, as it was the *perfect* way to convey to the player/audience that this is NOT a Sonic game, and that they are NOT fucking around this time. Best way to say that this is Shadow's turn now, and he's coming for whoever is in his way!
Don’t care what the naysayers say, this game was freaking awesome. Janky gameplay? Sure. Ugly as sin? Not gonna debate it. Edgy to the point of being ridiculous? Oh yeah, and that’s what makes it so freaking fun to watch and play. It’s unapologetically confident and stylish in its glorious E10+ rating.
