    It's not mentioned but you have to take off the skid guard first and also the torque for the engine bolts is 55 NM.. That is from the service manual, 45 Nm is for bolts on the back of the engine, 55 for the front. It's a little dangerous to make a mounting guide that beginner mechanics could use, that does not stress the fact that the engine bolts need to be done with a torque wrench.

      Thanks for your reply. The service manual refers to the OEM torque specs. We supply our own bolts.

      @@Outbackmotortek If Honda specifies 55 nm torque for those bolts, don't you think that it could be important for the long term health of the engine? I'm a little nervous about it either way, either I torque it to 55 nm which is what the engine seems to have been engineered for, but the bolts might fail, or I torque it to 45 nm and it might cause problems with the engine in the long term. Maybe OM should supply bolts that can safely be torqued at 55 nm?

      Thanks for this info Saunas! I was just mounting mine and was missing the info on the torques! It's the main bolt that holds the engine in place and wrong mounting could affect the quarantine of the engine.

    HEAD UP TO EVERYONE. MOTO X V2 full exhaust is not compatible with this crash bar. The braket blocks off where the header goes. Yes i even took the pipe off to make sure and we confirmed they dont work together. Ive spoken to a rep and they are now aware of it. Will be sending pictures to them.

    Another thing I noticed was the right side bracket is rubbing the radiator hose, don't know if this is a alignment issue or anyone else have this problem, 2023 300 rally, and slight rubbing of the mudguard on the cross brace at the bottom

    I just installed mine, Great job. Fit and finish is excellent. I was supplied 2 large washers (same size at the OEM motor mount washers that I used for the install) that I didn’t use. Do those washers go somewhere else?

      I almost had the same issue today and thanks to this comment I checked thoroughly and fixed it. If you had the same "issue" as I did, then the spacers go between the left plate and the frame. From right to left you have bolt head, OEM washer, right plate, long spacer (kit), frame, OEM spacer, engine, OEM spacer, frame, small spacer (kit) plate, OEM washer, nylock nut.
      I almost missed one as well. I don't know if this is critical but you might want to check?

      @@sayuas4293thanks for the question - so important. I’ll be torquing mine to 55Nm and use a torque paint pen on the nuts to watch that everything stays in place.

    Hi Lorry, we would like to understand how it connects and protects the bracket under the front led .....
    all clear the lower part but I don't understand the connection 'pipe' under the headlight, ////// the upper part> connects to the instrument holder of the bike ???? Because there is no upper bracket connection, between left and right of the crash-bar (under the light) ... correct? Thank You Lorry!

      There’s a fairly heavy duty bracket which secures the instrument cluster. That’s the upper mounting point of our crash bars.

    Did you crash test these and does the lower fairing take a hit? Also, with the crash bar attached to the console, what is the risk of damage to that assembly on a hard fall?

      It concerns me a little as well having the bars attached to the front fairing stay bracket. It’s attached to the front of the bike by a pretty thin bracket🤔. I understand it’s there to protect those big a&$ fairings and tank, but I’m glad I have just the 300l version 🤦🏻‍♂️

      The bottom plastic part will get scratched and the upper headlight mounting point will bend as well.

    Adding more weight to an already gutless bike. Owners need to be thinking about shaving off weight rather than adding it. It's a dual sport bike. No harm having battle scars. Heavy adventure bike can use protection because even a small fall can cause a good deal of damage.

    The crash bars that I bought from OM France came without mounting instructions. No paper at all. Is that normal? I maybe have overtightened one of the throught bolts. Can I get a spare one somewhere?

      Not much to protect at the lower end. It’s just plastic, which is pretty flexible. The top end however has the radiator and the turn signals.
      Covering the lower is practically impossible, unless one wouldn’t mind having a scaffolding “masterpiece”. Not to mention it’d weigh so much more.

      @@Outbackmotortek yes, the plastic is flexible...it can also crack and vibrate, and crack the mounting points during a fall, etc. etc. A lower bar assembly hits the ground first keeping the radiator off the dirt anyway.       5.6kg. We supply a set of heavy duty brackets, which add the primary weight, luckily it’s further down low.

      There’s very little space between the fender and the frame. Without our additional cross brace the crash bars would not perform. Make the best effort to adjust the crash bars and the front fender to gain some clearance, please.

      I am not sure but I guess these aren't compatible since the frame on the 250 and 300 is different, I found that out when trying on Acerbis Frame guards for a 250 on my 300 rally.
      But I am also pretty sure these guys have made crash bars for the 250 rally as well

    This is a very bad idea. The design is flawed. The top front connection point is the weak point. The entire assembly that holds the headlight, the speedo and windscreen. It will bend and deform the first time it impacts. I had a a minor hit and deformed the entire front. Expensive part to replace every time you tip over....

      @@Outbackmotortek I've seen the test but that was on level ground not the bike in a rut and impacting directly at that point at the front trust me it will bend and deformed. I'm not banging your product I'm just saying that's a weak point , I'm trying to encourage you to improve on the design . I like that it covers higher on the fairing then some others but just from my experience that exact connection point is weak . Thanks for your products, and Thanks to anyone out there thinking outside the box and creating new products I love it.

      @@adamday6573 thanks for your feedback. It’s even ground, however smashing a CRF300Rally against concrete surface twice in a row is tough to argue about.
      We always improve the designs of our products.

      @@Outbackmotortek I agree with Adam Day. I am currently putting my bike back together after dropping it in a rut and bending the attach point by the headlight. I still like the crash bars. I'm reinstalling the crash bars because I still think they're beneficial. The crash bars deformed my headlight bracket in a drop.

      @@jeffburmester1909 must have been due to significant impact or most of the impact affected the top end of the crash bars. After smashing our bike against concrete twice the cluster bracket is still intact.
      However, it’s still a possibility as there are dozens or hundreds of different crash scenarios.

    Dont buy the quality is not good no other exhaust wil fit. And you need to bent it and then is stil under stress and hitting the plastic

      As per your comment regarding aftermarket exhaust compatibility, we don’t guarantee fitment with aftermarket parts, only the OEM components.

      @@Outbackmotortek with the exhaust yes. But i try and the holes i van not get in alignment. The left side with some stress the right side no. And i believe you that you have a lot of happy costumers. But i if have buyers remors.
