I just wanna thank Connie for being as open as she is about her struggles with shit from drugs to mental health. It’s nice to be reminded people struggle with the same exact things you do with the same outlook on things. It’s kind of validating and doesn’t make me feel so alone.
as a trans guy whos only really only out as trans online and with my friends, it makes me so emotional in a really good way to see a trans woman in heavy music whos open about her identity like its kinda almost crazy to me . i love trans ppl so much queers forever

When i was first introduced to Seeyouspacecowboy I was not a fan. Not that it was bad. Just not for me. That was years ago. A few months ago I went back and listened to it all again. And I really liked it. Point is, hell yeah.
sometimes you just ain't got the taste developed for it. i know there's quite a few bands out there that bounced off me initially but when i came back 'round to em after a few years they became some of my favorites. however you discover your love for the music doesn't matter, just as long as you love the music
Saw SYSC w/ Counterparts and Connie did a part with the opener and her voice FLOOOOORED me. Unhinged in the absolute best way possible. Fan ever since. Endlessly fascinating episode!

I love that you have Connie on the Podcast! She's kinda making me feel more comfortable being openly trans in the core scene wich is hard tbh. But I love SYSC! Saw them with The Amity Affliction in Hamburg earlier this year and it was so cool!
You didn't feel comfortable in the core scene? I feel sorry for you. I'm in quite a big local scene and everyone is open to anything.
@@therealcleany Sorry for reviving an old comment, but felt like commenting on this. I think it depends where the person is from. Not just where in the US or whatever, but overall. I am from Eastern Europe, and you would think that metalcore or hardcore shows would have more open minded people, but not really. The whole country overall is pretty hostile towards trans people and LGBT.
You are pretty much guaranteed to get harassed at shows and stuff. I skip out on some shows sometimes because I simply do not have the energy to deal with that. Hell, even the booking agencies organizing the shows here are transphobic. x.x
I've been to hundreds of shows, plenty with trans people. I don't know how you can argue that shows are, on average, hostile towards people who are LGBT.

I can definitely remember the bass aerial trick, so it's for sure working lmao. I actually bought tickets to a show because of Dayseeker, and then looked up SYSC because the name was so out there, and then became a fan right then. Fantastic show!

Was a fantastic intimate gig, the venue went off and their performance was killer!

Really enjoy the pod and SYSC - saw them open for Knocked Loose in late 2019 and they smashed it. Connie seems cool, but I'm just totally lost and mystified at the crowd killing stuff. Seems kind of nuts to be bragging about breaking other people's noses. Otherwise, good stuff.
Love Hardcore music, hate seeing crowd kills or spin kicks....dumb shit usually. I get it , I get it, it's part of the scene. It adds nothing to the sound though.
