For the last 2/3 years i mostly play AA or indie games. I think they are backbone of the gaming industry.
Isn't baldur's gate 3 technically a AA game cause larian didn't get that much funding from wizards of the coast for its production?

I am too young to have been born and seen the original Robocop but it is one of my favorite movies of all time and this is one of my favorite games. It does so many things right. The fact there was a memory leak issue during the demo and the devs fixed it within 2 days (if that) says something. Peter Weller coming to this was a surprise when I saw the trailer but it made me so happy. Easily one of the best games this year.
For the people that have played and liked RoboCop Rogue City, should really give Terminator Resistance a go as well, since it’s made from the same developers.
The base game along with the expansion, is a must play for any fan of the first two Terminafor Films.
I've been meaning to give it a try, but for now I'll wait because I already have alot of game in my backlog that I need to complete. After that I'll get the game
I agree the terminator game is what made me wanna pick up robocop from this studio.
I'm playing it right now hehehe.
The reason I'm not particularly interested with Terminator Resistance is that I have no interest playing a human soldier I'd rather play as a Terminator
I know there is a T-800 DLC mode but it's not really the main focus of the game.
Also the last few Terminator films kinda ruined the franchise for me and I'm burnt out tbh.

This Game should’ve been nominated at the Game Awards and it’s an Solid 8/10 for me
I think so too, but someone said it didn't make it cause of the cutoff. So maybe next year.

@@route77productions It made it before the cut off date. The journalists on the voting panels just didn't vote the game in for any nominations, in any of the categories. But it was obvious because how the game was reviewed across the board. It's unfortunate because the game is great. Sure it's not AAA, but who cares. The game is extremely fun, great shooting mechanics, really good story, true to the source material, feels similar to Deus Ex in the choice making, and some of the crime solving mechanics. Overall a solid 8 out of 10 for me.
I won't because it's an actual video game, not a movie disguised as one.
I played this on my PS5, it was nice to play a video game that is actually a video game instead of those bloated cinematic experiences with 3rd person action.
And finally an ip that stays true to its core identity and defiling it with identity politics.

Considering they once made an on-rail Rambo shooter, that Angry Joe Reviewed, they have already improved beyond expectations

Rogue City was the first time I legitimately had fun with a modern game since maybe Ghost of Tsushima or Monster Hunter World
Then you should also play Terminator: Resistance if you haven't already, it was made by the same developer and it's great, i'm playing it right now.
This was a great addition to my steam deck. There were 2 or 3 sections where the particle effects caused it to freeze, but a restart fixed it
The moment I fell in love with this game was when I realized ballshots did just as much damage as headshots. Incredible.
Also, the rock music in the game is surprisingly catchy. 'Need it Fluk? Take It Nuke' is a highlight.

It's shocking that it's actually a good game! And it's made from the devs, that did that god awful Rambo video game back in 2013. And that Terminator game was good too! I would love to see them make a Predator game, and I hope it's kind of like Predator: Concrete Jungle from the OG Xbox and PS2. And also I would love to see them do a Evil Dead game.
I didn't consider the Evil Dead as one they could do, but I am now, although it might have to be set in Evil Dead 3 or in-between 2 and 3.
@@chriswihulu I was thinking after Evil Dead 3. And I was going to say, they could do a Die Hard game. But I think that'll be unlikely because of Bruce Willis retired of acting and such.
@@MeatPie95 never got around to watch the Evil dead series, so unsure how much they flesh out the time between Evild Dead 3 and it, but that could also work, for sure.
If it's just Bruce Willis' voice, it may be more likely that they could get him, but even if we didn't get the exact voice, I could see them doing Die Hard.
Other than that, maybe let them make an actual, good Rambo game, which would forever redeem them for that on-rail Rambo game they did, which was pretty bad.
@@chriswihulu Yeah I think a Die Hard game could still work without Bruce Willis. Last good Die Hard game was Die Hard Trilogy from the PS1, god I hope Nightdive Studios remaster that game. And I think Rambo should be a 3rd person shooter. Imagine a True Lies game! with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis doing there voices for the game.
Robocop and Trepang2 has blown AAA games out of the water this year.
Not really they're great games but lies of p, armored core, and Spiderman are arguably better

I love this game. I was 13 when RoBoCop came out. This game really made me feel like I was playing an extension of RoboCop 2. I guess someone who doesn't have a history with the franchise would not love it as much as me, but it was a great trip down memory lane for me.
I still hold my belief that Entropy Effect is the best AA game that released this year, but it is definitely nice to see a legacy movie character like Robocop getting the respect he deserves in the modern age

Considering this game was made by the same devs that made Rambo, it is really surprising. Teyon drastically improved the qualities of their games over the past decade
Terminator was excellent too
Petition for Teyon to remake Rambo now that they seem to have nailed down the formula
This Teyon is not the same because the developers are different. Now we have truly competent, passionate people.
Thats because when you see the *OCP* logo, expect quality. Nothing they make is ever faulty.
I got 100% of the Achievements for RoboCop Rogue City and can’t wait for the DLC
I play more AA games now than AAA just because many of the AA games are just better games with actual game play and not mostly movie cutscenes. Robocop Rogue City is a freaking awesome game. shooting with the classic robocop gun is so satisfying and just everything in the game I literally remember from the original movies. One huge plus is that they got Peter Weller to voice Robocop and Peter Weller was Robocop in the movies.
This is on my wish list. I want to see this dev team or a trustworthy team make a Judge Dredd game.
A really fun game doesn't need to be perfect. Been playing lots of indie games. Most are under $10 on Steam.
Robocop is one of the greatest movies ever made and in my opinion the best of the Paul Verhoeven trilogy movies which also included Total Recall and Starship Troopers.
Just a heads up, if you want all achievements you'll need points in engineering for the ability to hack turrets later in the game
Idea for a video Alex, with Teyon having now made not only a good Terminator game but a good Robocop game as well, which old movie IP should they tackle next? Total Recall, Demolition Man, Escape From NY/LA, The Thing, Screamers, Critters, Death Wish, Die Hard, Big Trouble In Little China, etc?
In the later levels you can hack them via computers. I got the achievement without engineering points.

@@Spr1ggan87 Totally agreed! I figured I’d have to knock it out on my second play through. You can also get the 3 kills with one explosive pretty easy in the same level. (No spoilers). Lol.
I would actually like to see them do an actual Rambo game, which if you know their history, might sound like a really bad idea, but I think they could redeem themselves from the travesty of their on-rail Rambo Shooter.
I kinda want a Predator game from them. The Thing would be cool though too.
Having Dr Peter Weller on board made this game even better imo.
Weller kills it in this game. And having him back is an absolute joy and elevates the game to something truly special. This is now my "official" RoboCop 3.

I knew this game would be good as soon as I saw who was working on it. Their previous Terminator game ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT. You could feel the passion and respect for the series when playing.
I'm so glad this game is getting love. It was one of the most refreshing games I've played in a long while.
I think we still get a lot of those AA diamonds. The media refuses to talk about them, I don't hear much, but for sure some find some success. Think gamepass brings some of these to light from time to time. Very nice video, it made me want to play the game.
Highly recommend playing terminator resistance from the same developer. So much fan service and love putting into it.
You also have to watch the first two movies.

@@DonYoGi8331 Sadly no, but I am hoping they add a + playthrough later. You can go back and replay levels, but you start with those skills you had in that level.
Now if only we could get teyon to make a judge dredd game.
It could be the original Stalone "Judge Dredd" or the 2012 "Dreed". Both of those movies, could be turned into an amazing first person shooter and deserve to, in my opinion.
@@chriswihulu One thing that I love about their approach of making these games is that they take aspects of all existing entries in the franchise instead of ignoring the ones which people don't like as much.
@@KratosisGod true, although that is usually in respect to Sequels and such, while the two Dredd movies are too different fro me to see them blend together, but it'd be interested in seeing them try such a thing.

@@KratosisGod I did have an idea for a rogue like game mode, based on that movie's setup and concept, where you balance stealth, tactics and ambushes, to survive the 200 floors between you and MaMa.
Since it practically only takes place inside the Peachtree Housing Block, there would have to be a lot of gameplay variety, as you progress upwards, but I can see it working.
I bought this for xbox and just finished it over the weekend. If you are a robocop fan this is definitely a throw back. Loved it. What a great game.
I completed Robocop in 4 or 5 days. Couldn’t stop. It was reliving the movies for me, but the third movie Robocop deserved.

I was kind of expecting this to be a low key banger. You could tell from those initial trailers that they nailed the atmosphere, which is half the battle. Glad they gave it some depth too.

Alex, great review! I totally agree with everything you've said here. Regardless of Rogue City's rough edges it has earned my personal game of the year. It does so much more right than wrong, and the best part is it is fun from the opening sequence until the credits roll. Certified AA banger.
I've ordered Terminator: Resistance on the back of how much i really enjoyed Robocop: Rouge City.

I have to recommend this video for some “Robocop” newbs….so many people slept on this franchise it’s crazy…I’ve watched reactors to the movies say they didn’t think it was gonna be that good, or that they thought it would be silly…😂 im like it literally was a movie that if you liked Terminator youd like robocop back then they delivered on there fronts…a recent reactor was just watching the first film and i told him watch the second movie and play the game sense he seems to be into it deeply now
Its actually wholesome to see Alexx so happy and smiling about a game. This game is amazing and i hope as a side dlc we get a "simulation" horde mode/wave survival just for fun
I will be grabbing this on PC in the near future. Given their previous love letter to the Terminator's future war, I'd love to see the developer give us some 'Robocop Vs Terminator' action too.... 🤨 Something similar to the Infiltrator mode in Terminator: Resistance. A full game may be a bit much but a short and sweet take on the old comic/game could be fun.

I like how they focus more on the 80s Robocop and not the newer RoboCop that was weird
As a lifelong Robocop fan I can’t say enough about this game. I’m 43 years old and this makes me feel like a kid again. It’s absolutely incredible and I’m blown away. They captured what I dreamed about as a little boy. I’m excited for my second play though. It’s not without its faults but the good parts outweigh the faults.

I was I could do a mind-wipe ahead of the upcoming new game plus. This game was such a good time. I went back and re-watched Robocop and then watched 2 for first time. The sequel isn’t bad but the original is such a great movie. Such efficient film making and smart in unexpected ways.
But I hope this gets DLC and then a sequel.
I’m torn, I like that the game design is a bit of a throw back to mission based games with a main hub. But I also wonder how cool it would be if there was a semi open map (not huge, just packed with crime stopping opportunities)where you drove your car around and stop incidents.
But it seems sometimes games lose focus when they’re open. But I think there’s a middle ground somewhere where you can have a sort of expanded version of the downtown Detroit but with a very curated experience

Released in a broken state. My FPS on XSX is constantly suddenly dipping into the teens, then suddenly it gets smooth again. The game is fun, but the current broken state of the game is starting to make it less so by the hour. Would be nice if game devs went back to the 80's and 90's mind set, where games were THOROUGHLY TESTED before release. Today's motto is, release first and fix later if people start complaining. FACEPALM!
I have seen some complaining about slow moving Robocop and bad weapon handling. Did they even watch any Robocop movie before reviewing the game?
Did they expect Robocop to jump around like a rabbit in COD? Robocop is easily one of the best movie licensed games ever made.

Damn, the gunplay looks so much faster here, so I'm assuming it's played on PC. Pity, the demo ran like shit on my laptop, so I got it on console. Still having fun, but it looks even more fun in this video.
I want my entire franchise to be mainly AA games as AAA costs too much in literally everything, not just money.
I want it bad, it looks extremely fun, but I'm nervous it doesn't have replayability. I don't have the chance to buy games often so it kinda matters to me I can play it 3/4 times over.laat game I got was elden ring and that definitely did it's job, but I guess it wouldn't be far to compare the two
