  • This video looks at how geography has shaped the life of the United States. It looks at four of the main regions and how they have developed in relationship to the rest of the country; their history and cultural impact and some of their sites of interest.

Something clearly missing from this video was the inclusion of Indigenous peoples, Latinos and Asian people. They were barely mentioned in this video and deserved a bigger part. This video, like many others, have continued to paint the "White" America and "Black" America narrative and completely ignores or barely mentions any other demographic in the United Staes. Indigenous peoples have been on the continent for thousands of years, barely gets mentioned. Latinos have been on the continent for hundreds of years yet still gets the same the label of "newcomers" and the same is true for Asian Americans. All three groups have contributed to the United States political and Cultural geography but are under-represented in the nearly everything.

I said newcomers, because that's who I was talking about. Not the people that have been here for 100s of years, those were already part of the cultural imprint in the West, especially Hawaii and California.

@CronicaPanamericana The cultural imprint was barely anything besides a few food items. No mention of music and clothing or anything else. All that was done for Haiwaii in your video was a mention of the state, nothing else.

@@youngarchivest9092 that's because this is a less than 15 minute video that was not meant to be exhaustive. I encourage you to make your own videos and then you can include whatever you'd like.
