@@bestbeekeeper8931 they aren't busted in XX actually, she has even better versions in Reload and she's mid-tier in that game, the thing that really makes her good in this game is that there is not a lot she can't do and has like 3 bad match-ups at best, guard cancels are only one piece of the puzzle here

I miss playing +R baiken. It was so nice finally having a character that put FEAR into players who would just block string you for days otherwise.
I get you, but you say blockstring like it's a dirty word here. It's a part of the game in +R, unless against Baiken, to pressure your opponent with attacks to try and open them up. If you block those attacks, then sure it's a blockstring. But they are trying to hit, not be blocked. They are just playing the game. As is Baiken, just her own game. Then again, it's not as easy as it looks here. Not all Baikens can just do this shit. If you mess it up you get punished. Outside of the highest level, that game was actually pretty well balanced IMO. I know people take shit to extremes these days, but compared to something like 3rd strike, +R is hella balanced.

I mean, +R Baiken is the strongest Baiken so far.
Being able to use her guard specials in neutral with Suzuran made her far more oppressive than before.
all these clips are infinitely more entertaining on phone since the stylized text is replaced with a bunch of X's so it becomes a fun guessing game of proving that time is a flat circle after all

I have never played Plus R before but this seems brutal.
Baiken is just a character with a lot of strong defensive options that forces you to run different offense and think differently which can be difficult and if you slide into any muscle memory you get countered and then put in tatami jail
Baiken is top 3 in +R, easy. She's pretty painful to play against, let me tell you.

@Isaac Steele Dude, you still can mix her up in oki with mixups since she has to block to GUARD CANCEL. Also, Pote destroys her since guard cancels lose against command grabs. And another thing, she has very low life and gets stunned really fast. She is very damn strong but not strong enough to be an easy win.

Baiken's whole thing is that she can counter-attack during blockstun, effectively making it always her turn. It's kinda fucked up

When they brought her back in Rev 2, her block-cancelling attacks now can only be used after a parry (S+HS while blocking) instead of general blocking. The devs at least learned their lesson.
The easy solution is to play like such a madman that the baiken implodes trying to get a read on your nonsense. Trust me, I win like, 15% of my games.

Its a setting in the game option menus. prob Aliasing 2x or something like that
I prefer the pixelated look. I put the game in 1280x960 resolution and disable filtering. It looks really crisp.

Baiken was always a bit of a shortstack in X and beyond. The shift to 3-D just made it a little more pronounced.

Me as a Sailor Moon S player where the entire cast has free guard cancels: "Meh. Uranus guard-cancelled my massively-plus-on-block attack on victory point and stole the whole round back with her infinite. Must be Tuesday."
Granted, I have both an atypical tolerance for guard cancels and an atypical tolerance for BS in fighting games in general. I play not just SMS, but Super Turbo, and love both dearly. I find bullshit more exciting than infuriating, because I always feel like it could work just as well FOR me as AGAINST me.
I also play Kliff in AC+R, so take from that what you will.

@Isaac Steele You can if you pressure her with fast recovery normals and also its pretty hard to actually guard cancel those moves too. There are a lot of ways to approach the MU and she also dies in 3 combos. The thing is that you actually need to learn an unique matchup when playing agaisnt her and you have to change your whole gameplan to do so. I wont deny that she is strong AF but using bandit revolver for pressure like sajam did is just foolish, to say the least.
