Visited the distilleries at Oban and Blair Athol in the summer of 2018. The whiskey at Blair Athol was unique in that the barley was not smoked with peat, more like an Irish single malt, but excellent nonetheless. The whiskies at Oban we’re also excellent; hell, every whiskey I tasted in Scotland was excellent. Even the haggis was good, of course the whiskey helped with that. Darlington, South Carolina USA

Islay peated, smoky scotch. Very good stuff. Something special about a single malt that has compliments of the earthy tones and tannins found in the process of creating a solid and enjoyable experience for the drinker. I really appreciate the oaky and woody flavors that carry campfire-like tones, seaweed taste and iodine in the back to add more flavor to the palate.

That is, if it is okay for you to make a snide comment about us Scots and the way we speak Scots English, then by your own standards of action, it is also perfectly acceptable for non-Indians to admit that Indian speakers of English are notoriously difficult to understand. And since most BT and Vodafone support calls are routed through Bangalore and Hyderabad, it is also a perfectly legitimate observation that those calls are often difficult to follow. Racist would be if I ordered a curry to go with it!

Go to a large liquor store and buy the small " airline" bottles of all the different kinds of scotch........ try them out before buying a large bottle of what you like ........... this is what I did .. Johnny walker works for me

  • @baddriversofmoosejaw8681

Greetings from Canada. Scotch whisky is good. I tried Ruffled Grouse. Might have to try Johnnie Walker someday. Scotch is much better than Crown Royal, a Canadian whisky.

    Hello and Greetings!
I want to discuss something that is practical and necessary.
What if I asked you and your team to invent the next generation of truly advanced wines, beers, and liquors? What would you say after giving it some really serious contemplation?
These are the features that you could go after --- utilizing science, experimentation, teamwork, dialogue, and patience:
    1. No liver damage.
    2. No fatty liver. You can learn about how fat gets stored and removed from the liver by watching Dr. Eric Berg's CZcams videos on this topic.
    3. No bloating or flatulence or burping. That means a change in carbonation or the elimination of carbonation, and possibly other factors I currently have no knowledge on.
    4. No sugar or carbohydrates (sugars, starches, and fibers).
    5. No disruption in the human microbiome in terms of creating an imbalance in bacteria or fungi. Alcohol appears to be a strong contributor to oral thrush (oral candidiasis), seborrheic dermatitis, and other versions of excess in malevolent fungi. There are scientific papers on this topic, and non-scientific literature that could point you in the right direction.
    6. Add extra packaging protection to prevent "dirty handling" by merchants and transportation mediums.
    7. Nuanced flavors never before discovered or released to the public.
    8. International access/distribution.
    9. You don't have to "guarantee" these items to customers or anyone else. These are achievable goals that may gradually achieve fruition over weeks, months, years, and yes - even decades.
    10. Some forms of alcohol consumption, especially among alcoholics, can deplete very specific vitamins and minerals, including salt, magnesium, and potassium. Alcohol, just like so-called "energy shots," can almost certainly be fortified with vitamins and minerals to off-set this very vital imbalance. The vitamins that are probably most likely to be needed are C, the entire B series of vitamins, and D.
    11. No depletion of Hydrochloric Acid in the stomach.
    12. Invite consumers to share their knowledge. Especially alcoholics. Safeguard their privacy while treating them with dignity and respect - with the hope that they will reciprocate equally.
    Cheers!

Last year {2014} I returned to Scotland and made a point of return to my birthplace. This was Auchentoshin distillery in Dalmuir. On my birth certificate is i s recorded as Auchentoshin distillery cottages Feb 20 1939. We did not manage to visit the distillery due to lack of time. I wonder if the cottages still stand there?. Joe, go to Google Street View and type in Dalmuir, Auchentoshin. It will take you to the distillery and you can look around to see if the cottage still stands.

Can someone in simple layman terms explain the difference between Single Malt/Scotch Whisky/Bourbon. Thank You. Your help is much appreciated.

    • @MrDhillon24
      @MrDhillon24 Před 4 lety +1

Single Malt means One type of Barley or any other grain which is steeped, germinated then dried for brewing, distilling n also to make vinegar...Hence Single Malt whisky = One type of Grain + other ingredients + process of making + aging it..Hope it should clear ur doubt.

Single malt are made from malted barley from a single distillery ,scotch whiskies are those whiskies which are distilled and matured in Scotland for at least three years and lastly, bourbon whiskey are distilled and matured in US and should contain 61% corn .
