    Narcissist is in Cluster B [dramatic cluster; antisocial, narcissist, histrionic and borderline] - there is so many layers to this, so remember to walk with empathy. When you judge a person, be aware, bc you judge yourself in the same way. As human we are capable of what other human can do, we aren't locked down by anything, other than our beliefs. So let it be as close to the truth as possible for growth and good health.
    As anything else, it's a consistent pattern. Narcs gives me shivers, and psychopaths cold sweat.
    As a borderline [being on the border between reality and psychosis], we can have same expression, sometimes, as the narc - but we have high empathy, and a consciousness of our extreme actions [at least after]. We have a wish for 'togethetness', but don't always know how to express it, or ourselves, the right way.
    Bc when you have a "personality disorder", you've had traumas. Take a breath, it's okay to be human.
    take responsibility, throw the shame away and accept your place in the world.
    You're not stuck there forever, but how can you move the right direction, if you don't know where you are on the map?

    • @donnaroman9310
      @donnaroman9310 Před rokem +3

      Wow.. I appreciate your profound compassion and gentle reminder. I had been married to someone who was very high on the narcissistic spectrum. He was a neglectful narcissist and malignant narcissist. I was terrified of him. And had nightmares about what he could do to our three kids. I'm free from that. And my kids are grown and know how to physically defend themselves. I got an order of protection for me and for them. When they were young.
      He had been brutally traumatized as a kid.
      I often used thst as an excuse and continued with the relationship.
      I enabled him, in other words.
      But I completely understand your comment because myself had been abused growing up. And as a profoundly sensitive person combined with the neglect I grew up with I developed bpd. Now I have traits because I worked hard.
      Ppl with bpd usually don't run from the inner work needed to recover.
      Sadly those with narcissism are terrified of counseling and inner work.
      There doesn't seem to be much hope. Maybe there is hope for some who are lower on the spectrum.

    • @astralydial7533
      @astralydial7533 Před rokem +2

      @@donnaroman9310 There is hope for everyone. Even for the most severe cases - but you shouldn't take responsibility or accountability for another human.
      I'm so sorry that happened to you. That's not okay.
      You didn't know better at that time - and that's okay to. As I can read, you reflect and take action when need be. Be compassionate toward your past self. If there happens to be a next time (no one knows) you know what to look for, within yourself, to set boundaries.
      It can be an explanation to why narcissists are how they are, but never an exuse (as you wrote yourself " i enabled him") understanding should be used for how to do the right (or better) action in the future. But if the other (narc or not) don't respect those boundaries, you have the power and responsibility to take care of yourself. It's scary with physical change, AND mental change within ourselves, we ad a species are not naturally drawn to it.
      If anything else, I'll call us BPD passionate. Be passionate for yourself (not in a narc way, but a truthful way), and the rest will follow.
      Narcs can't see they hurt others, and justify Thier actions. When a person acknowledges their wrong doings, it makes a world of difference.
      "It's not about what you have or do, but what you do with it afterwards"
      I say, I'm proud for what you did for yourself and your kids, as another human. It's inspiring. Truly. Thank you for sharing.
      It was a little rant, i hope it makes sense somehow.
      Lectures from Marsha Linehan (woman who created the program DBT) has help me alot to understand the mechanics of our BPD or oversensitive brain ad behaviors. You're on the right path, keep your eyes on it, and you'll reach highs you never dreamt of.
      I wish and hope all the best for you, and your kids 🤍

      Narcissistic people are 'drawn' to codependency,.. people without Healthy Boundaries. People pleasers because they are compliant, easy to control, and manipulate. Find out what your deal breakers are and develop your Healthy Boundaries. Don't ever break your own boundaries, EVER. Make 'No' your favorite word. Codependents don't know what they want because they have been groomed by a narcissist to be focused only on the Narcissist's wants and needs. Manipulation by affection, or attention withheld, favoritism of another, etc. You are basically looking for affirmation from a parent who is not capable of giving you anything you need, want, or deserve as their child. It's good to know you can do it for yourself through Jesus. Ask Him to give you Healthy Boundaries, because He is great at the 'heavy lifting'. 💌

      calls me a narc for sleeping with it under my pillow, which is an old habit from my days on the streets.
      I have to guard myself, and my behavior around this person....
      as not to set them off.... can't be myself, walk on eggshells.
