This method worked for me in 2020 on a Panasonic DP-UB450 Blu ray 4k player with the latest firmware update installed 1.15. You get to the region lock screen of the movie. You press the blue STOP/SQUARE button. And then TOP MENU and 1 and OK. You are a lifesaver and I love you!
I watched a couple of your other videos and followed the steps but they didn’t work, unfortunately. However, the method shown in this video worked for me before completing the whole process. I did this: 1. With the ‘wrong region’ screen displayed I pressed the Functions button; 2. When the menu appeared I pressed the Functions button again; 3. When the menu disappeared I pressed the Top Menu button - and the BluRay started playing. Many thanks 😊
This trick can also work by using the top menu button to get you back to the Panasonic home screen. Is there another button on your remote that brings up the functions? I'm unfamiliar with your model so I'm unsure as to whether this would work for you. My player is 6yrs old now. Hope this has been of help.
Hi mate, do you still have the same player or have you upgraded now, just wondering if you have worked out any more codes or does this code work an most Kino discs.
The region A locked Blu ray I use in this video is the MGM release of Road House. If anyone else tries this trick please post any other totles that definatly play.
Stephen ryder I'm not sure to be honest. Do you have a region A title to experiment with? If so it could just be trial and error. Basically it is just a way to get you away from the "wrong region" screen so you could just press "stop". The button you will need for this trick is "top menu". Although I'm unsure as to whether you player is compatible. If it's a newer model things could be different. Hope this has been of help.
eddyw1978 - at this time I only have a region A blu-ray from scream, and from what you say they won't work using your method. My Panasonic blu-ray player is from 2015. Thanks anyway.
I don't see why not as long as you have all the buttons used on this video on your remote. There are other workarounds I have listed too. Remember not all region A Blu rays work though unfortunately

eddy, do you know if this works with 'shout factory' blu-rays?
No sorry, no Shout Factory release I own works with this trick.
Also eddy, I don't have "function" on my Panasonic remote control, so do I press option instead?

Would this work on the DMP-BD75 which I have?

Did you ever get it to work?
Yes - no problem at all now
@@Robbbo6 thanks. I wonder if it will work on a dmp-BD85.
Doesn't work on my Panasonic
can you do this on ps3/ps4?
No sorry. This as far as I know only works on Panasonic equipment.
