He was so talented and charismatic
Danny Kaye has always been one of my favorite people. He brought a lot of joy to every performance.
He's at the TOP of my favorite human beings!! What a MENSCH!!
And the Oscar for best actor in Wide Vibrato is...Danny Kaye!
nothing is more attractive than someone who can make you laugh. i have a crush on a dead man, he is so missed.
Me too!
Me three! I watch any movie he is in when I feel sad he always makes me smile. 🤗
Me too. I have always loved Danny Kaye.
Me too!
My hero!
My 17 year old son said, “I wish TV shows were still like this!” I couldn’t agree more. I grew up watching Danny Kay as well as listening to his reading of children’s stories. What a wonderful talent! He was willing to put in the work and it always showed.
Such talent. The ‘ Golden Age’ of entertainment has long gone.
Talented as can be..and..not a four letter word in sight ! 🤩
So, my Danny Kaye story which I wrote somewhere. Anyway, in 1960, I was an army lieutenant, going from Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Korea. Stopped in Las Vegas, not to gamble because I knew statistics, but maybe see a show. Danny Kaye was there but I could not get in because I was too late, or I did not hand the guy a fin, or I was not on the list, whatever. I was not surprised. So I went to the First Cavalry division, on the DMZ, in Korea, and what to my wondering eyes should appear, on Christmas Eve, 1961, in the gym, but Danny Kaye. So we were all rounded up, and I could hardly believe it but, there he was, with his piano player, and no one else. No Bob Hope show. Just him and the piano player. And he did the crazy Russian, and all the routines, without any straight man, he did both parts, and here we were, on the DMZ, waiting for an alert, everybody loaded with rifles, machine guns and I was hoping nobody dropped one. They didn't, and Danny got a standing ovation (no guns dropped.) So to this day I think that maybe I was not supposed to see him in Las Vegas, but somewhere else, more important. The troops loved him and it made a memory for me, and I guess for them, that we would never have had. I stayed in, retired as a colonel, and like to think that he is up there, in the big USO in the sky, and before I get there I will hear the sounds of laughter.
What a great memory! Thank you for sharing it with us. God sends us what we need when we need it most, all praise to Him!
Brilliant actor, so brilliant.
He was the best....still love listening to Danny
I can't believe it's been so long since he passed. I can't think of anyone who can hold a torch to his all encompassing talent
I agree. Mar. 3, 1987...i know exactly where I was when I learned of his passing. Had to pull off the road because I was crying...He was an ORIGINAL.
@@arcar66 I grew up watching his movies and listening to his songs, I was devistated when I found out, when I was 7, that he passed the year I was born 😣 fred astare too!! The best of entertainers. Real quality!
As a child watching this on tv I was mesmerized by the talented and classy folks of all different genres. It still brings a smile to my heart!❤❤❤
The man was so remarkable. A talented actor, musical, and father. May he rest in peace.
They don't make 'em like Danny anymore. He is a real superstar with real talent. Bet he was a lot of fun in his personal life.
Gosh this is before I was born! What's worse is that's it's funnier than anything I've seen recently!
Look up movies from that time.. especially the musicals, you will find talent and just plain fun abounds there.. Enjoy!!!
Omg. I love this man! Just brilliant! 😂
A gentleman and a Gentle Man, what talent!
He makes me swoon
Great comedian, actor, dancer and singer🎉 Rest in peacr
And I still Crack up as if it is the first time I listen to him. There never was anybody after Danny Kay like he was.
From Buster Keaton to Doris Day we had a whole lot from actors to actresses singers and songwriters they were all great in their own way and they're all gone now I am glad I was around to hear them I laughed and I cried at their performances and I can't help to shed a tear that they are past
Oh, the timing & harmony! Name just one modern act that could achieve the smoothness of this performance, perfect in its simplicity.
Yes, those days are gone. I waste time writing into morning shows telling them how vile their music is and suggest they use the great talent performing in NYC clubs.
Beautiful tune and nice harmonies. New York Voices, Vertical Voices, Manhattan Transfer, The Real Group, Pentatonix, and many others are now like this...this sound... You would like them.
Crossroads, Storm Front, Signature, Taken 4 Granite
The Bobs
Brilliance in this man! Singing is top notch, too!
Hilarious spontaneity is Danny Kaye. I love the number, too!
The man was elegant AND funny. What more could you want? What a Sweetie!
I love hearing Danny Kaye sing with this group
Such a talent!!!!!!he could do anything and everything.......
Love the puffy flip hairdos on the girls. I remember those well. Priceless!🥰
I generally don't feel I've been born in the wrong era, but I'm so very sad I'll never get the chance to see DK live or meet him.
I 'met' him in the Atlanta airport when i was 7 months pregnant....it was magical. we only passed each other in a corridor..i couldn't believe my eyes...when he saw my reaction, he just smiled and walked on...i guess he was used to reactions like that. i'm so sorry i wasn't courageous enough to stop and talk...i was just 19...i could kick myself now.
I absolutely loved him in The Court Jester. Fantastic actor.
Just so jazzy and fun and clean. Good group but Danny still stands out. He always does, because he’s Danny Kaye.
He still stands out even in the choral.
He is possibly the most charming man who ever walked the earth. Yes, he had personal demons galore, but on stage he was simply adorable.
Such Brilliance!
Oh! the women's hairdos of those times! Of course I used to do my hair like that. You needed a lot of hairspray!
What. A. Talent!
Shows like this were truly the best and were the best entertained. All these kind of shows are gone because all the wonderful people who did them are gone. Today there is no one talented enough to do a show like they did.
This kind of close harmony where they all inflect their voices together is so captivating (and so is Danny of course)
Notice how calm television was back then too? Makes it such a more pleasant experience.
Danny Kaye forever remembered❤Kimmi
Such a wonderful wholesome time in entertainment. I wish we could go back to this. We need another Danny Kaye ❤❤❤ But how could that happen?
I don't think I've heard this song before, great one! Wasn't expecting group scatting. Thank you.
Danny Kaye was one of the greatest actors that ever lived. He was a kind and gentle man. He was blessed by HASHEM with many talents. He will come again and be with us in the MESSIANIC AGE.
Ethyl Merman had the widest vibrato I have ever heard.
She had that wide vibrato as she got older but as a young performer she was perfectly centered some singers lose their high notes, some have more vibrato as they age, and some , like Jan Peerce , experience no vocal change as they age.
From Buffalo, N.Y. I remember watching programs like this when I was a kid. TV today is just so awful I don't even watch it.
He is just an AMAZING HUMAN BEING......LOVE HIS VOICE AND ACTING...R.I.P. YOUR VERY MISSED DANNY...😇🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have Loved Danny Kaye since I saw him in the Court Jester and I Will Always Love Him you are Sorely Missed.
The Court Jester (1955) is one of my favourite comedies which starred Danny Kaye.

my name is Caroline I've grown up loving the fun and laughs from the films with Danny Kaye I've just retired from working with the NHS here in the UK xxx
dena if you are behind this your dad was a huge influence one by his movies and two by actually meeting him.
in 1984 I was in a children's home for behavior problems. most other kids were orphans in there and those were the ones Kaye came to visit but, most were too damaged or timid to go to Kaye, but me as a behavior Fwit I didn't give an F! More over I was a fan! at 10 years old and I was ready to do what he wanted me to do and, that was the Inchworm song from the movie Hans Christian Anderson I knew it by heart so he pointed his attention completely to me also I was the only Dutch kid there that could speak English so I conducted my fellow inmates to sing the song by basically making it phonetic.
kaye was a father of children I still feel his heartfelt hug when he left I kissed him on the cheek with power and he grabbed me hard in response I miss you, Daddy, Danny!
I made a real friend those 2 days!
Danny Kay was a treasure

He did a skit I just can't find. He jumped up and down off a bench. It was hilarious. I wish I could see it again. Wonderful man.
I can eatch White Christmas every season. Can't imagine it without Danny
Always brilliant whatever he does! My favourite comedian along with Norman Wisdom.
My own love is so thoughtless. Thinking of you is my bug in a rug right before bed. Love is so GRAND. Brian Koller
I saw him on Broadway in "Two by Two." It will always be one of my best theater memories

This should never have been mentioned to him - it hit him so hard, I'm amazed he could sign in the end. Such acting, though!!!

Okay, who's the odd one out? I mean, who's the guy or gal responsible for that number one thumbs down up there?
El enorme Danny Kaye.
Those harmonies aren't easy at all.
WOW!!
How do you top this style of entertainment? About 20 years ago I realized that current-day TV wasn't just a phase... that it was here to stay - and so I threw mine out, and haven't had one in my house since. Should actual entertainment ever return to television, I'll be the first in line at Best Buy.
Es tan bueno!!!
Love
