    As someone who doesn't bar, it's really surprising to find out that Kyle Ward plays (at least doubles/full) barless as well.

    Nice video but I always wondered why Konami hasn't sued this company into oblivion? It's clearly a DDR clone.

    • @isskaymakesvideos
      @isskaymakesvideos Před rokem +18

      I'm pretty sure it has to do with the layout of the pad. Konami owns the patent to a pad with four panels and not five. This is why games like Pump it Up (another popular dance game) can exist since it has five button panels. Also the creator has gotten sued in the past due to a game called "In the Groove" which was much more of a direct clone and a predecessor to Step ManiaX. The game was around in the early-mid 2000's.

    • @TheBigExclusive
      @TheBigExclusive Před rokem +3

      @@isskaymakesvideos - Thanks for the info about lawsuits. I did not know that.
      This arcade cabinet looks extremely similar to DDR. I'm not saying they are breaking any laws, but I wish they made this cabinet more unique looking to set it apart.
      I would mistake it for DDR at first glance if I was in arcades.

      @DisgruntledDoomer Před rokem +19

      All racing games look the same too, IMO, but that's never been a problem. You can clearly see the name at the top of the cabinet anyway. @@TheBigExclusive

      @ZeroX252 Před rokem +9

      Because Kyle has gone down that road before. See the Roxor Games vs Konami lawsuit where they lost their IP (In The Groove) to Konami. It was mostly related to the offering of kits to upgrade actual DDR machines to ITG, which started with ITG2. That said, this go around - Kyle flew himself to Japan and had meetings with Konami before the release of this game, presumably to iron those sorts of things out officially.

    • @TheBigExclusive
      @TheBigExclusive Před rokem +1

      @@DisgruntledDoomer - Racing games didn't invent cars or a steering wheel. But Konami were the first ones that invented this specific "dance pad format" with arrows, a screen, and the handle bars behind you. No one came close until Konami did made DDR. Then a bunch of DDR clones came out.
      As an average consumer (who doesn't follow the gaming Dance scene), if I go into an arcade I will immediately think of DDR when I see this cabinet. It's incredibly close to Konami's design.
      The creator of this game clearly loves DDR. That's why I said he needs to make his game look more unique instead of cloning DDR's look.
      Look at some other new Rhythm games like "Dance Rush" with the light up LED floor. It's still a dance game, but it's a unique design that looks very different from DDR. Dance Rush was very original looking, and sets itself apart from the DDR design.
      That's why I hope this person would try to make something more unique to set this game apart from DDR.

      Hi. I just wanted to chime in and say that this isn’t Stepmania, it is StepManiaX which is a new dance game from StepRevolution. The same guys that previously made In The Groove. It is a completely new game and is not affiliated with Stepmania, despite the name.

    • @LargeHadronAnusCollider

      @@SymBiotiX i know that but seeing the new stepmaniaX cabs brings me much nostalgia for the good old days. And in the community if you can get your hands on of the stepmaniax pads its usually paired with Stepmania.
