  • I was all alone at the John Moulton barn in Grand Teton National Park for sunrise (a rarity to be alone there). A happy cloud arrived over the Tetons and made the shot work wonderfully. A landscape photography vlog.

    Great morning for you, Steve. Every time I come up from Casper I try to stop there. I love the Moulton Barn and photographed it early one morning while up there for our honeymoon 20 years ago.
    I am really enjoying your channel.

    Beautiful Steve, such a gorgeous spot. Hoping to get out there next September if all goes well, I know it might be crowded but at my age I can’t take the cold any more. Thanks so much for all of your vid’s and sharing with us.

    Nicely done and thanks for sharing. My wife and I were at the barn 3 weeks ago and the sky was so smoky that you couldn't see anything except a vey faint outline of the Tetons. I've been here a couple of times when it was clear, but this was her first time to see them. It was also fairly crowded this trip (early August).

    The timelapse around 6:15 is beautiful as is the one around 10:20! Great video Steve

    Just when I think about changing my fall trip to another state, you come up with something like this, and I know that Grand Teton NP has to be included. Of course, I'm usually one of those "30 or so Moulton Barn photographers" that you mentioned. How I envy your private time there.

  • @justahumanblendingin3996

    That's my favorite time to shoot. No one else around. Just quiet and relaxing beautiful time. Awesome work!

    Loved the pics. I love being out by myself too when I am shooting. Also wanted to tell you your audio is great as it is very clear.

    Steve, Just stumbled across your video. Nicely done images and your time lapse looks great too. I'm headed there with the wife at the end of September for 4 days in the Grand Tetons and 2 in Yellowstone. Very psyched to see and photograph these iconic places for myself for the first time.

    Steve man, its really cool to hear how you plan out your creativeness into an amazing picture! If it weren’t for your vlog I wouldn’t believe the picture is real?! It is so beautiful and well done its surreal bro! Can you imagine for a moment back in 1912 when T. A. Moulton stumbled upon that spot, do you think he saw that view with the reverence that you do?? Anyways you continue to be my inspiration, I WILL get as good as you someday, maybe in 20 years?

    • @SteveMattheis
      @SteveMattheis  Před 6 lety

      Yes, the settlers must have loved the views at that spot, because it’s one of the coldest, windiest places in the valley...

    When you shoot in the cold, do you have any problems with your cameras "freezing up" ? Is there some temp below which they start to malfunction?

    • @SteveMattheis
      @SteveMattheis  Před 6 lety

      No problems. I’ve shot in 30below zero Fahrenheit without problems. The lcd screens do get a bit slow and less responsive but that’s about all I’ve noticed.
