I did not know that world corruption was even a thing, let alone that it was dependent on size. Then again i am terrible at committing to one world. I usually have 3 or 4 going at once based on what I'm doing in that particular world. But, if this is a thing, it would seem i now have a new goal. Also, Toycat casually mentioning ugly scars from adolescent self-harm struck quite the chord. Never wanted to hug a CZcamsr out of empathy before. You'll probably never read this, but for what it's worth, I'm glad you're still here and you found your place making lovely Minecraft content. I enjoy every bit. ❤️

One of the cool things about 1.18 is that they didnt move the location of mega ravines. So if you have a ravine that was generated 1.17 and before, and then updated to 1.18, then that ravine should continue down to -60. If you remove the lava/deepslate around y: 0-12, then in the end you should have a ravine that is 120 blocks deep!
This is exactly what I did in my MCPE world, and its cool to jump down with a slow falling potion. However, it doesnt work all the time, so you would need to check out several deep ravines and dig underneath them to make sure it worked!

I plan on going past the the map too. it’s completely legit too because I can earn achievements! Only thing that sucks is I have to go so far out to get the new stuff. But I don’t mind just build a portal in the nether away from the nether spawn then you’ll more than likely find the new stuff easy. Some people may not that though.

So that pillager outpost is a bug that still frustrates me immensely. So what happened is that some of that outpost was previously generated but not all of it. Then in 1.18, they changed world generation and at the time promised that all old chunks would be preserved. However, this was not the case. On Java, it was the new chunks that got blended to match the old chunks that tey were touching. Yet, on Bedrock, they decided that they would blend the old chunks into the new chunks that were generated. Therefore, when you loaded the chunks around the outpost that had not been generated before, Bedrock attempted to blend that old chunk into the new chunk that got loaded, making that disgusting thing. It has happened with all structures, and would also happen if you decided to trim your world and generate new chunks. So this does not happen on Java, only on bedrock and it’s just dumb. Thanks Mojang for not keeping your promise and making more disparities between versions.

    • @masahirosakurai64
      @masahirosakurai64 Před 10 měsíci +5

Not only that, but Java edition avoids altering structures and will still attempt to generate them normally, whereas Bedrock warps them if they on old chunks or cuts them off if they're from new chunks.

I actually kind of like the results of "biome blending" had on structures. I ran across an ocean monument that was the most bizarre thing I had ever seen the game generate. Because of the blending, there were only two sections (the center and part of one arm/wing), and a single Elder Guardian was stuck in a room barely large enough to hold it.

I just passed 4 years on my survival world, and I've used the program Amulet to reset my Nether after the release of 1.16 and to prune away a bunch of chunks after the release of 1.18 so that I could appreciate the new terrain generation without having to travel too far. I'm really glad I did the world pruning as it allowed me to do a lot of exploring within 3,000-6,000 blocks of spawn and generate new structures in 1.20 (along with Sus Gravel and Sand and Trail Ruins). I too am having issues finding enough Jungle Temples to try and find the Wild trim, and I haven't yet done the long trip its going to take to find a Woodland Mansion. For existing world players, I think that world pruning is the only long-term solution to keeping up with new updates.
I don't have any of the world generation issues you have, but I have seen the issue where structures get in the way of chunk blending that they implemented in 1.18. It used to be that you would have a hard edge at the chunk border if world generation changed, but with 1.18 they implemented chunk blending where the game creates a 1-chunk buffer between old and newly generate chunks and attempts to slope the world up or down as necessary to provide a smooth transition. If a structure happens to be in that transition chunk, then it gets blended along with the terrain. I actually reported this as a bug while 1.18 was in Beta/Preview, but it was never addressed as far as I can tell.

5:19 I saw some diamond ore in that hole in the darkness, just wanted to mention it.
My PC screen is so dark you can't see a thing, but my TV screen (which is connected to my laptop) has a brighter screen, so I can see things in the dark much better and clearly on my TV than on my laptop, and I barely even need torches to see if there's diamonds or iron in a dark cave (though I still prefer torches coz it's still really dark).
Also that random bedrock staircase is hilarious XD
Also, in my most recent survival world, I found not one, not two, but THREE floating islands not too far away from my spawn - one is actually almost right next to my spawn, and that one had a lava source flowing down, so I decided to use that as an infinite lava source with dripstone and a cauldron, while maintaining its floatyness.
The second one is a very nice-looking typical shaped floating island, with a relatively flat top and cone-shaped underneath, almost like Angel Island from Sonic. Except it's pretty small, and also pretty close to the ground, but far up in the air enough that from afar you can see it floats (that's how I discovered it, from like hundreds of blocks away in the distance).
The third one I think is pretty big but also weird shaped like the first one, basically just a chunk of rock/mountain that seems like it got loose and is very close to the ground, but just enough that you can see it floats.
Naturally generated floating islands in survival (not even Skyblock!) are so cool and interesting, and it would be really cool if there was a seed that spawns you on top of a floating island, so you'd be making your base IN THE SKY!!!!
Of course, getting up and down without ruining the island's status of floating is a bit tricky without the means to fly yet...
Guess gotta do some parkour like in Skyblock Parkour!

The reason, I believe, why the Pillager Outpost is all messed up is because of the 1.18 chunk blending. When old worlds were updated to 1.18, they added a mechanic in which the old Minecraft terrain would blend seamlessly with the new, and not make a hard chunk border like in the old days, and that Outpost was right on the border, and Minecraft didn't distinguish between what is part of a structure and what is part of the terrain, and just ripped up the Outpost along with the terrain, only the mountain it was trying to blend it into didn't end up generating due to some other anomaly, so it just did that. It's the same with the birch trees too.

It is really cool to come to the edge of a land and have a wall of water, you basically have a natural aquarium. It's like being on the buttom of the lake and watching the fish and other sea life while still being on dry land. An Acient City with a small lake generated through the center portal, the room under the portal completly flooded. It also had stone cubes cutting off parts of the city and basically removing most of the chests. Oh the joy. I found two desert tempels mostly burried in sand and half loaded. Personally, I enjoy it when the Minecraft world gets completely bugged out like that. Just saying that empty chunk wall, theoretically, could be a wither killer. The empty hole going to the void that you have. Quite literally could be an entire chunks worth mind out from the center all the way up. And you could have like powdered snow with vines, or some thing to make ghost blocks. Troll your friends. Or I could just be a monument.

I have a world that's not nearly as old as yours, I started it in the 1.16 days, but it's the oldest world I still have, and when I walk through it today, there are still things that I did where I'm just like, 'What was I thinking!!!?'. Right behind my mansion, there's a place where I once wanted to build giant statues of my favorite creators, but decided midway that I wanted to spend my time doing something else in the world, so all that's there are just a bunch of cobblestone cores on pedestals that I was going to place the colourful blocks around. And the whole thing was a stupid idea to begin with because it completely ruins the view I had from my mansion.

10:48 i think that's because of the chunk blending, maybe it was in between chunks, you generated it in one update, then you returned in a newer version that generates differently, so it blended the chunks weirdly. i cant understand the empty chest though.

  • @daydariftwalker

4:26 I have one of those holes in a creative world i probably made in 1.13. I had made a chicken farm at bedrock level(don’t ask…) and put glow stone at bedrock level. When i generated the world in post-1.18, there was a non-square-shaped hole reaching all the way down into the void. Weird.
For you, something probably generated at the bottom of the world and punched a hole through the bedrock, which carried over in 1.18 as a giant hole to the void.
EDIT: never mind, the mystery of why bedrock did not generate there was explained 2 seconds later in the video

Since 1.19, Bedrock chunk blending has been in parity with Java, though the "blended" structures will never happen anymore but instead they will just get harshly cut off because structure generation is not in parity yet.

when a world update to i think 1.14 they would try and blend the train with new train that meant that all of the train was made to blend even if it was a structure or tree making these have leaves that were on the floor or half the structure looking like it is falling apart. this was to stop missive chunk walls that you got in old versions but this made these chunks look very odd. this was fixed with 1.18 i think

  • @WardenIsAngry

I've seen random holes like that in my 1.16 world after the release of 1.18 even with chunk blending. I might have broke through the void before 1.18 (bc it was in creative) and when they added 1.18 to the game, it continued the hole all the way through the deepslate area and into the void.
so basically the same thing happened to me.
