Hey guys, welcome or welcome back to our channel! So a lot of you wanted us to react to “Who is BTS?: The Seven Members of Bangtan (INTRODUCTION)” by SUGA and Spice, so we obviously followed through! This gave us more of an insight as to who the members are as individuals! We have to split this video into two parts because our camera space is pretty much full, so you can expect the part two next!

Since you talked about Suga's struggles, I need to mention this. One of the part time jobs he had was a delivery guy, which he did when he was a trainee for BTS' company. During one of his runs he had an accident, got dragged under a car and injured his shoulder. He was worried that the company would terminate his contract, so he lied about it and underplayed the severity of his injury. His shoulder caused him issues over the years and it got a bit worse lately and after some advice from doctors he finally decided to undergo a sugery to have it fixed. The sugery was 3 days ago, I think. He's good now and resting, but he won't be able to do promo stuff and such for some time, so the shoulder could heal completely. If you see #GetWellSoonYoongi trending on Twitter, this is what it's about. It just imediatelly came to my mind when the part-time jobs were mentioned, since we got the news about his surgery earlier today.

Jin was scouted getting off the bus as he was a “pretty boy” and in K-Pop thee is a position of “Visual” - basically a good looking person. I believe they also tricked him into thinking he was going for a casting as an actor(he was a theatre student).
Following a successful casting audition you become a trainee where they teach you to dance, sing etc. Then you can debut either as a soloist or a part of the group. Jin has amazing vocals now and is an inspiration to all of us to work hard and that you can learn a new skill at any time in your life ! He has the purest heart and really cares for all the members (they all do care for each other deeply) x
Bts is technically KPOP but army’s say they aren’t because there so versatile and of many different genres so there “in there own lane” 😊
Even jungkook said "the genre is BTS" they don't like being boxed into just one genre 😁

yes jin had literally no background in singing he acheived wt he is today with his pure dedication and hardwork he faced so much criticism about not being able to dance and sing which is not true because from the moment they debuted he was never a weak dancer in the group he just practised more time than the other members do and his singing is incredibly improved , in the bts BURN THE STAGE CZcams SERIES all the members said jin is incredibly improved in singing and not only jin all the other 6 mebers also worked so hard to get this position i love them so much.

The whole BTS and kpop thing is pretty nuanced. Kpop community never really embraced BTS and ARMY and now that BTS has evolved beyond kpop, the members say that their genre is BTS.

He started out as an underground rapper
He has no support even from his parents
At a young age of 17 he undergone depression anxiety issues and he is very poor he had to choose between meal or bus ticket for practice
In 2012 he got hit by a car when he was a part time delivery worker and got his arm permenantly injured but he didnt tell his parents or his company cause hr feared that they will kick out him from bighit
He had no friends to talk freely abt his depression
After joining bts his depression got higher in the early days of bts from 2013 to 2017 because of hate from korea and also internationally now he is recovering

Btw BTS has a new album coming out November 20th so I suggest u learn more about them and their names, since they are going to be promoting a lot. Also suga might not promote with them due to health problems. He got in a car accident in 2012 which left his shoulders to be dislocated, he had to get surgery for it and it’s been eight years now. The pain got worse so he recently got another surgery and now he needs time to heal. I hope u can understand if u don’t see him with the others. he has been dealing with the pain for so long, we just hope he gets better.

the way people claim bts are not kpop is so weird to me. bts are kpop idols and have been since their debut. the fact that they are currently the peak of kpop doesn’t change this. they also finally feel comfortable and proud with the label, so i think it’s just counterproductive and basically equal to throwing away all their hard work towards self love and acceptance to argue otherwise. i also feel like the people who claim bts are not kpop usually have very toxic tendencies towards other kpop groups in that they constantly compare them to bts and put them down :,(

I think partially it's also because of the image of K-pop a lot of people from the west have. BTS literally are K-pop by Korean standards, but I think some people are worried about the connotations the word has in the west. I think it's kind of the same thing like people shying away from the word "boyband" being used, because it creates a certain picture of them in people's minds. I don't really like not calling things by their real name either though. BTS is a K-pop boyband even though they might not necessarily be what people tend to imagine behind these words. On the other hand, there are people who miss out on them because of the stereotypes connected to these words. So, I understand why some fans are doing it even if I don't agree with it.

The reason a lot of us avoid calling them kpop is kind of political. ARMYs don't have a great relationship with kpop fans (in fact we were officially "kicked out" of the kpop community in Oct of 2018--a day we now refer to as "ARMY Independence Day) and BTS has been historically mistreated by the kpop industry at large. Plus in the west where BTS thrives, a lot of the gp and media tend to have a negative impression of "kpop" and apply all of those stereotypes (lack of freedom, artificiality, superficiality) to BTS. Also they attribute all of BTS' success to the kpop industry saying things like "kpop is making history..." when it's really just BTS on the charts and in the news and making those achievements. Plus it would be weird to call Justin Beiber "Canadian-pop" right? At this point, BTS have solidified themselves as mainstream artists--the "k" is superfluous and generally used only to put them in a box or separate them from their rightful peers at the top of the industry. Last year the VMAs created a whole new "kpop" category and put BTS in there along with artists who combined didn't have the achievements BTS did instead of putting BTS in a main category. Anyway, that's sort of the politics behind most of us choosing not referring to them as "kpop." Also, a lot of ARMY aren't really into kpop. I think a sizable minority are ARMY-multis who like BTS and kpop groups but most of us are just here for BTS and have explored the industry but don't really stan anyone else. I think it's fine to refer to them as kpop as long as you're not trying (or even unconsciously) using it to be reductive (though you'll win bonus points from ARMY if you learn to just consider them pop or hip hop and not lump them in with other k-groups if you choose to start reacting to them). They're true, sincere artists and musicians who happen to be Korean. It's really that simple.

For your future videos...(if you're going to be reacting to their music) can you please not watch lyric videos from Lemoring and Jaeguchi? (There are other channels, too, that aren't trustworthy but these two are the ones I can name at the top of my head.) There are multiple problems with them:

One, they 'steal' money from artists. Please watch ZaerApolloの事件簿's videos for more details: [czcams.com/video/W1Bvb4KCKLE/video.html and czcams.com/video/HhKgErLRlzM/video.html]
Two, they're not well produced. It's quite obvious, really. The videos are uploaded literally not even a minute after the release (may it either be a single or a whole freaking album). Also, if you know the group members' voices, you'll notice that the video sometimes (let's make it real--all the time) gets it wrong. For example, Jung Kook is actually the one singing, but the video says it's Jimin singing. If you want to learn their voices, their videos are certainly not the place to go.
Three, their translations of the lyrics are not the best ones. I know that sometimes, there are no direct translations for certain expressions, phrases, etc., but I have heard other people (including stans of other groups and idols) say that their translations caused some...fights.
You can listen to their music using official audios from their official CZcams channel BANGTANTV, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. This helps us increase streams, too. You can get translations of their lyrics from genius.com, doolsetbangtan.wordpress.com, or even from ARMYs on Twitter (just please make sure they're actual ARMYs and not trolls).
If you want to watch BTS lyric videos, though, BBTS9717 is where I go. The videos and translations are from ARMYs and the art is very pretty. For line distribution(?) (I still don't know how to call it), is very much almost always accurate (j-hope is the one rapping and the video says j-hope is rapping). You can also go to Moonlight 52 Hz, but they have, what? Five videos up? They might start uploading more in the future, so it's best to take note of them. ARMYs own that channel, too.
When reacting to BTS's MVs, if they were uploaded in the Big Hit Labels channel, you can show us your whole reaction to them. They don't copyright just as long as you include the 7-second 'BigHit Entertainment' intro. You can watch their Japanese MVs on your own because the channels they were uploaded on (UNIVERSAL MUSIC JAPAN and BTS JAPAN OFFICIAL) are really strict with copyright. Although 'Stay Gold' is an exception. It’s a Japanese song, but the MV was uploaded on the Big Hit Labels channel, so it's safe.
Also, you should know by now that their MVs (that were uploaded in the Big Hit Labels channel) have English captions so you won’t need to find lyric videos/translations for those particular songs.
