Big Cat touched on another piece of black L.A. history : there were a lot of rich black real estate brokers and mortgage bankers in Baldwin Hills in the 60s and 70s ( along with big dope dealers, bookies, police captains, black doctors and lawyers , etc.)....Them niggas up there was banging cuz they WANTED TO not Because they HAD TO. Ray Charles junior and Ike & Tina Turners sons came up in the hills back then too. Ike Turner also had a recording studio down the hill from Ladera park on La brea...Bolic sound.

Big Cat, man let me just say thank you for shedding some light on how things went from small Sets to uniting as one to form the Rollin 60s. Willis Vaughn and Big Snoop put the Rollin 60s together and as they say? The rest is history.
Plus when he spent time in Angola there was politics back then with New Orleans vs Batton Rouge and the like, Big Cat stayed 60s and held that Cali card. I just appreciate all of the great jewels Big Cat provided and it gives us maniacs a better idea of how the Rollin 60s formed.
Tbh i look at all La Sets differently now and its thanks to all of the OGs on the Big Kev Mac platform.

Cat is basically giving the history of the far back of the hood, which is not just west of Crenshaw but further west and the link to Arlington Ave. There’s several other subsets or pre-Rollin 60 sets that’s he also left out because they weren’t up the hill.
Though i put a disclaimer on the Tyrone tribute stating it is not to be confused with Rollin 60 history Mumpy and Bad News mention the Bishops as one of those group of guys in the area.

Sometimes you have to do that to either check the consistencies or to draw out certain information. I usually ask a question and move on but when I did Hiram Clarke Family I found myself doing the exact same-thing. I conclude he did a great job.
