You're allowed to not like open world games. But pretending everyone else feels the same as you is inaccurate. I love the AC series and I quite enjoyed my time with Odyssey. It's not linear like the old games, it evolved into something different. The RPG formula resonates more with generic gamers than the old stealth formula. This is particularly relevant when we consider raw sales--the RPGs sell better. Not to mention AC Odyssey was nominated for 2018 GotY alongside masterpieces like Red Dead Redemption 2 & God of War.

i think this game was fire. people just hate on the game as its not assassins creed despite there being loads more to play , for me i love greek style games and this was perfect im only lvl 15 yet still love this game. im not saying there is no issues but claiming it is terrible is out of line play it how its meant to be played and you would love it
Nah out of the rpg acs this is by far the worst one, the only thing it did right is have a beautiful map decent mythological bossfights and good music. The story is dogshit, voice acting i can do better myself, quests are boring and repetitive and worst of all combat isnt even fun
Also it even sucks at being an rpg lmao you do 3 milion damage with epic items and the cool looking legendary items that are hard to get are useless later in the game, you have to use shitty epic items you find after clearing camps for the 300th time if you dont wanna use cheat engine
Plus you cant even assassinate people in an ac game , also i couldnt even play the atlantis dlc i got so fucking bored of it. Tbh I wanted to play this game for so long, I had issues with it and spent like 12hours getting it to run and I had my fun with it back in the day but its objectively a bad game, its only good as an open world exploration game with decent bossfights and if you like mythology

Its a copy of origins, with superpowers, bad story, bigger map and you cant even use a shield. It's not about beeing and AC, because it is an Assassin's Creed only for the isu and the animus, but is just an awful game. Graphically is sometimes worss than origins.

Tbh I got bored by AC after brotherhood, and couldn't play anything of the series until odyssey.
Though I agree about the choice part, but I don't really consider it an RPG, so I didn't have expectations about it.

AcO was a breath of fresh air. It literally is a prequel to all AC games and wouldn’t be a traditional AC game. It is super good. Such a great rpg.
