EU4 but EUROPE is PRIMITIVE

- In this Europa Universalis IV (EU4) video I have sent Europe back to the Dark Ages with the institution of feudalism not being present on the continent. Meanwhile, Asian nations from Japan to China and India will be thriving with the institutions of Renaissance, Colonialism, and Printing Press all but guaranteed to spawn near them.

#EU4
i think if u wanna nerf europe u have to change trade. Like make the end nodes Canton/Hangzhou, Gujarat/Coromandel and Malacca/Nippon
exactly, trade is such a vital part of the game but often overlooked at how much impact it can have over the course of the game.extra income effectively is extra mana through advisors and extra manpower via mercs.
Yeah I absolutely despise the fact that end nodes are predetermined... Makes the game totally eurocentric
@@Exedra9 well it was historical true.
Following discovery of America.. Europe was flooded with silver and gold giving them purchasing power..(Italians acted as middle men between Muslims and Christians following Ottoman sanctions over conquest of Granada etc)
While discovery of potato and other things from new world and increased health spending through new money and emancipation ultimately resulted in population boom in Europe and thus made it a consumption economic power with much purchasing power..
@@Real_Gigachaddi i just wish they were dinamic. You can't even steer trade from North america to Iberia or from europe in general to the americas. I know its supposed to be historical and the engine problably doesn't support this, but would open so many new scenarios
@@Real_Gigachaddi this is not a history game, this is an alt history game. Hence why the trade flow makes no sense for this purpose.
the reason why Europeans will always do well despite nerfs is trade. all trade nodes end in europe which will ultimatley make them rich. switch the flow of trade and see what happens
Switching trade flow would be really interesting
Do you think a mod like this would work if you didn't want to bother trying to change trade directions and just gave massive trade debuffs to every country? It'd be the easy way out but you'd be taking trade out of the game pretty much. Maybe it'd balance things out.
@@spencerbuck1074 thats would just make everyone poorer. switching trade flows incentivizes eastern contries to conquer west and increase trade. i dont know how much the AI considers this when planning but it would be cool to see if it changes anything
E
@@KofteG61 There is a mod called Reverse Trade Nodes that does exactly that fyi
Chewy: Hmm an Asiacentric world shuld be cool!
Ottoblob: But what about the me-centric world?
Sadly we can’t escape them
EU4 is made by turkish nationalists anyway, Byzantium and Armenia should be the strongest nations in 1444 historically
@@ramp597 lol shut up dude
E
Anatolia is in Asia
Have you done a run a with every single tag independent at the start? As in No HRE, No Daimios, No vassals and every single releasable tag having been released and independent. If not, that might be a fun idea. A true free for all
Chaos chaos
RIP his computer
I think Luca got Renaissance from an event! Definitely helped Europe catch up quicker than they otherwise would have
It's scenarios like these where I wish eu4's trade system was more dynamic. Even with the institution and idea buffs, trade flow messes with AI behavior and flushes Europe with cash, even if they're in the gutter.
Yeah the best way to nerf europe in the game is to purposely make sure they are as decentralized as possible so they cant monopolize trade. Its weird. I agree that trade needs to be more dynamic like if some of the missions changed the flow of trade, made new trade regions, or made certain nodes into end nodes personally that would create a much better roleplay/historical as well as a-historical play
8:14 I love how those polish borders look a lot like the modern ones
I think it would be nicer if you showed where the last three institutions spawned.
Chewbert: *Nerfs Europe*
Europe to Asia: "So you think you have friends in high places, with the power to put us on the run..."
Finally, an accurate 1444
europe was so primitive it colonised the world 😭 we wuz kangs
Exactly, Europe wasn’t so advanced as we think.
@@johnyg1939 literally conquered 90% planet
@@mithea6946 Legit, the Europeans don't have enough resources so they went colonial. Starting with trading ofc.
@@mithea6946 In that time they were pretty weak, what made them strong were the resources from the new world.
Should’ve also changed every european country’s government to tribal so they start with 1adm 1dip and 1mil tech
Definitely need to change trade to in order to properly achieve the goal of making Asia the centre of power.
The way it was done here Europe still has the powerful nodes and end nodes and all that.
I've always had a similar idea to this video in my head. Having the tech and institutions changed was just the top of the iceberg however.
This is shown with how quickly the Europeans caught up even with their disadvantage, still ending up with many top great powers at the end.
You can complain about the ottomans but they bordered multiple nations that had feudalism that they naturally want to expand into or ally before the tech difference matters.
Meaning they get to absolutely crush the eastern europeans
As for franceeurope staying relatively low tech and the early eco means no one around them had the economy tech or ideas to defend themselves and you see a similar situation as the ottomans esp with the franco otto alliance giving france access to institutions earlier than theur neighbours as well
when he said "It's Tonkin Time" my life felt complete
also can you make the hre all daimyos?
or make uberbuffed nations for the lost cultures?
hre and japan swapped seems fun
Morocco forming andalusia is just ... Beautiful
No, the Ottomans made Andalusia.
@@holysayrus the ottobros help morocco form it
It seems like the AI almost certainly find its way to screw up when the crisis of the Ming dynasty triggered.
Lol never underestimate the AIs ability to destroy themselves
Drew Durnil sounds different
EU4 but Ming remains the dominant technological power forever and finally starts using gunpowder for guns
This is honestly an amazing piece of work, very unique!
I think Lucca was able to spawn the Renaissance because there are a few Italian events that force spread the Renaissance in Italy
Asia Universalis, amazing
and 2/3 of the top 3 people in AU, were from europe...
I think there are events to spread institutions around. thats why lucca got renesance
Ming is the biggest 50/50 ever.
I wonder how much more the nations in Asia would have conquered if the direction of trade flow had been changed in their favour as well.
Other than national missions, or rarely incentivised by leader traits, territorial expansion doesn't happen when it is not economically advantageous to do so.
Could you make all the old world trade nodes go the other way? See if that changes anything.
Well i gotta say this time youve outdone yourself
That is actually fucking genius to fuck with institutions and technologies
Like as usual
"Vijayanagar has Icelandic Ideas"
we need eastern rome to be like this in ck well like the ottomans
Granada be like: what about me???
This Korea is truly the Best Korea.
Europe when France still end up in 2nd: All that for a drop of blood
did I see the purple phoenix rise and fall in the timeline?
lucca getting the renaissance might be from cardinals spreading institutions papal thing
Institution spread does not spawn institutions, it probably got it from an event
YOU GOTTA MAKE THIS A MOD WE CAN DOWNLOAD
"If they could do it..
they'd be here"
How about europe where everyone is a migratory tribal country?
America has no tribes however, they are reformed monarchies instead (most are OPMs)
Europe still has much better trade routing, better terrain for development and trade goods than Asia. You would probably have to completely overhaul the game mechanics for Europe to actually be nerfed.
OK, one thing: The printing press was made in China before 1000 CE.
I like this video a whole lot. It was nice to see Korea get big and beefy.
Hmm yes the lore of what if asia is the dominant Continent
MOST ACCURATE EU4
Looks like Moroccans made a Re-Reconquista in Iberia with the aid of Ottomans. Btw I like to see Korea having China :D
This video :
Me : *holding tears*
What about a game where all the smaller post colonial tags (including stuff like Vermont and Paraguay but not like the US) exist in 1444?
I hate to see Ottomans and France still being the strongest even when europe was nerfed significantly
There's a damn good reason
@@kami6401 no
@@nubnubdubdeh Yes
this is the truth my friend🤷🏼♂️
Can you do the same but with High American tech natives vs primitive Old World?
Can you do one where everyone starts out as a single territory tribe? Unless that's not possible.
Kasanje double emperor when!?We need to show the world our true FLAG
We must make Kansanje great again!
Maybe write a script to give the ottomans big instability and unrest like a custom disaster to help change things up from them always dominating
just one game i want to see a big strong denmark. just one game XD
Korea is croasia
10:40 I see what you did there
is there a modpack for this? this sounds interesting.
The people with the purple hair in California are pooping on the streets

Did byzantium win against Venice?
You should reverse the trade flow
Mamluks still died to Ottomans 😂😂
