After graduating, I did one year of the Research Master in Law (LL.M.), as well as one year of the B.A. in Philsophy of a Specific Scientific Field at the University of Groningen (RUG). After that, I did the General LL.M. at the George Washington University Law School (GW). I finished my General LL.M. at GW with the focus on Philosophy of Law, First Amendment/Consitutional Law & International Human Rights for Women in 2018.

You didn’t attend law school. You completed a masters program in legal studies. This is very disrespectful towards law school students who actually took the LSAT and earned their J.D.
I disagree. It’s true that in the American sense of the term law school people think of a 3 year JD programme. However, just because the US has a different system than the rest of the world, does not mean LLM is not considered law school. The Netherlands has different test requirements than the US to get into a Master’s programme, so even though it’s not the LSAT, that doesn’t make it any easier. In addition, a LLM also enables you to take the bar. So I think your comment has a very American perspective, not taking into account other legal education systems. Lastly, I did not complete a master programme in Legal Studies btw, but an LLM in General Law.
LilyLikecom LLM is a masters program that you completed in the US... you openly say “when I was in law school” when you clearly should be saying “my LLM program” as you just stated in your comment. You’re giving your American audience the wrong impression. You can only take the bar exam in a few states and you still won’t be recognized as a traditional law school graduate. Your homeland may consider it as a “law degree” but here in the US it’s just a graduate program. You’ll never have the j.d. acronym after your name like 98% of practicing attorneys do ... even after the bar exam.
Sandra Aguirre Again, like I said in my previous comment, you have a sole American perspective on the term law school, while I use law school in the broader sense of the word, which aligns with my international audience, and the fact I studied in two different countries with different educational systems.
