- To jest test, któryś kiedyś przesądził o tym, że kupiłem Mondeo mk3 :)
Mondeo uzyskało czas o 2 sekundy lepszy od BMW i Mercedesa! O reszcie samochodów nawet nie wspominam :D
Dodam, że BMW było traktowane jako faworyt z dobrym rozkładem masy i tylnym napędem, a Mercedes do tego miał o 20 KM mocniejszy silnik. A mimo to Mondeo mk3 (2.0 145 KM) pokazało, jak samochód powinien się prowadzić. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
What a car that mondeo is, my dad has owned 4 of them over the past I think decade and a half, sadly he’s scrapping what will probably be the last one he’ll ever own, but still, long live the king, mondeo mk3

Mine it's 2.2l 155hp tdci titanium 2007
Done 100k km's now with our Mk.3 and all I can say it is a very nice car to drive. A few things broke but nothing really expensive. Drove us to the other side of Europe, over the Alps, on bumpy Polish country roads, everywhere. The check engine light has never gone off, it's an old Ford in the end.., but it runs just fine every morning.

Many criticize the X type because it has a modified chassis derived from the Mondeo, but this video proves that it's a good thing.
In my opinion i think this test is a bit fictionalized.
The Jaguar X Type doesn't seem be the Sport version so is a useless test.
However, the Jaguar X Type is 4x4 and set for long journeys with elegant power delivery so obviously, especially in short track it suffers.
However, I prefer the Jaguat to all the others because it can be fast enough but at the same time very comfortable.
Its correct, the mk3 mondeo is a sports car.

@@aidagjinoshi6847 No, its bigger than the BMW3 and has the same suspension as the jaguar that is alot heavyer than the mondeo. The other cars are in the same Middle class and the 3 and Jags price are comparable in some trims, lower trims with higher trims od the mondeo.

Jesus, you just gotta love that laguna. Man it is such a cool car, I have one and it is really a beaut. Even coming 4th it still pack a punch.

hubgear xD seryjne padaja, ale sa na to 4 rozwiazania. 1) lejesz dobry olej 5W50 2) wymiana panewek na king'a 3) zmiana lokalizacji katalizatorow 4) dolozenie chlodnicy oleju. Oczywiscie najlepiej zrobic wszystkie opcje, ale 2 pierwsze to obowiazek.

@chrishart: This fact alone is a clue on how biased Top Gear was when they tested these cars, them clearly favouring the Ford Mondeo.

I still use mondeo, only increase was necessary, yes evolution was necessary and I changed it.

@@Bondarel7 you have never been in a newer car or you don't have a mondeo mk3, the original seats, in the mk3, kinda suck, they are not very adjustable, mainly manual and very stiff.
@@blackwei3299 the seats are indeed terible. With no lateral support and to big for my taste. But the position for driving is not that bad. I was only talking about the position. Everything else is kinda rubish indeed.It could be lower but it s ok. I m only 1.7 m height and i see the hood very well with the seat in the lowest position. But imagine how i "dance" on curves in that big seat LOL. Yet, i stilll adore the car. Superb chassis, handling and very torqy engine my TDCI. THE brakes are not bad either. Long traveling pedal but you can modulate them very good and you have a lot of control. Stops quite well with good tiers.
I have a mk4.5 mondeo and love the driving position. Did ford improve it.

Yeah, I doubt this test is accurate. Top Gear was very biased sometimes. The Merc and Bimmer eat the rest for desert, no way those are faster cars than the former ones.
Sounds like you are biased actually, the mondeo in the same engine capacity as the Merc and Beamer is faster in a track but on a normal public road the only thing faster is the Merc the Beamer falls behind because of its drivetrain loss being a RWD Car, but 1 thing is for sure the Mondeo ST220 cant compare to the M3 or the AMG Version of this Merc its just completely different worlds of engine power, also the ST220 was compared to a 330i and the 330i lost in a drag race because of the Mondeo ST220's gearing despite the fact it was lacking power compared to the 330i Beamers, hope that clears your mind.
@@alevoulas2338 I think you should do some research before saying that someone is biased. 1. Both 330i E46 and Mondeo ST 220 have similar power, the BMW has like 3 hp more, that's negligible, not like you say "extra power". 2. the Mercedes is also a RWD car. 3. Top Gear track is not a real track for setting comparisons, more for the show actually. Hockenheim is also a shitty track, 1 minute laps shows it is very short and not concludent. 4. Last but not least, I checked videos with acceleration times of both 330i and ST220, and they are pretty even, ~ 14.5s 0 - 160 km/h and around 24 seconds for 0 - 200 km/h. Even so, considering what chassis and setup the BMW has, I'll take it anyday over the Ford Mondeo. It's just superior engineering in the BMW, the way it rides, the way it takes corners, the way you can accelerate in corners, the engine l6 is a strong engine etc. Even if the Ford Mondeo is similar with the BMW 330i acceleration-wise in straight line, it's still not better than the BMW. It takes way more to outperform the bimmer.

@@alevoulas2338 Yeah, maybe. I doubt it is faster on Nürburgring or other fast track for that matter. As I said, you have much more engineering going on in the bimmer, engine, gearbox, chassis & suspension. Far more ballanced car. But hey, you like the Mondeo, that's ok with me.

@@radolw Gdybym miał wozić 3-4 osoby i miałbym do wyboru BMW 3 vs Mondeo to bez zastanowienia biorę Mondeo. Tam z tyłu jest tyle miejsca, że jeszcze można tańczyć. W BMW 3 tak samo jak w A4, Focusie itd jest zwyczajnie ciasno.
