‘Leg arms’, a professional knows his limits, knows his stuff, knows his strength , is humble and hardworking (and not afraid to say I screwed up). So in my view you (oke ... also Nick 🤪) and ‘dad’ are the professionals! The three hard working professionals!

Really enjoying the videos. So wish my grandfather was alive to see these machines. He died in the early 60s. My mom told me stories of the steam threshing crews that came to harvest their wheat. This would have been about 100 years ago in central Illinois. She has first hand knowledge of the old saying "that's enough to feed a threshing crew".

We use to have some junk ground back east. Wasnt shale but didn't want to grow grass/hay. Amended the soil with wood chips, old hay, manure. Started growing after several years. Basically made top soil. Now things rot much faster out east so might take a generation out here. The top soil on the rest of the field got there somehow.

Back in the '70's cutting a thousand acres took 10-12 days with our John Deere 95's with 20' headers.
Some folks may not understand that even poor wheat is worth harvesting because it's cheaper to take the grain with a combine than to have to kill the volunteer wheat that comes up from the kernels knocked out by the hail. We normally planted between half and a full bushel of wheat so you can imagine what a field would be like when a hail storm "plants" 20 plus bushels per acre.

Legarms, I like your talks about who is a professional. Why are you a professional? Because you aren't bothered by making errors. If you work you make errors. If you work harder you make more errors. The errors need to be found and corrected. Those that feel they fail on an error then stop. Real professionals then fix the errors. Your quality, your value, isn't in the low number of errors but in the way you deal with the errors.

But they do appreciate the bread they get from their "artisan bakeries" that use the wheat you harvest. Just saying! 👍

Lots of versatility with your new mega bins plus field bags system. Bags for the high yield years to take up the storage slack. Not all that extra work of building or open ground/tarp storage and chance of grain damage. Save on trucking distance costs using bags at land closer to railroad bins.
The hail damage will not be a total loss, all that nutrient goes back into the soil for next year's crop.
Tough grain farming out there in the short grass prairies.
How much longer is this long term drought going to last in the West or is it the new norm?

If you look at the past decades there were periods of very dry and periods of decent rain. Hoping for the decent decade now.

Someone who owns a junk yard or salvage yard that has an old fire truck w a big water tank they can use for fire prevention for them and their neighbors. You’d be doing them a huge solid by hooking them up free or cheaply!

As for you guys screwing up.......Work in progress mate you'll get there eventually, in your own time.... The same as everyone else. And remember above all else. An old Irish saying. The man who didn't make a mistake didn't make very much. Keep going.

I'll be very interested to see how the grain bags hold up over winter. They look like a great idea and alternative to grain tarps.
Any sense of how rodent and bird proof they will be?
    Keep rockin' Welkers!

Awesome video, I like seeing the Case IH colors, and beast bine dumping into the almost huge wagon. I'm glad you guys made a fire truck, and have a good department.

Your channel is a better Case IH advert than Case has. They should keep you'all in the best equipment at all times. Keep up the hard work and love the videos.

We had a tractor that was too good to park we just used at harvest that wasn’t air conditioned. It was a Volvo and had a small sleeper so we put a small house ac and ran it with a gas generator. That became tho to truck.
