Karnataka and Kannadigas were pioneers of culinary skills and art in earlier ages also
Manasollasa the great epic written during the reign of the great Kannada Emperor Chalukya Someshwara III contains major chapters devoted to most culinary preparations in use today in Karnataka and these were sunsequetly abrogated by Maharastra Andhra Tamilnadu peoples.
Vaddaradhane ,another book written during Kannada Hoysala empire time has very earliest mentioned of idly dose vade shavige sandige Holige etc
Soopa shastra another karnataka origin early cook book contains descriptions of what is called soup today
Karnataka and KannDugas had specialized books devoted only to culinary arts at least two centuries before the first exclusive culinary book came up in France Europe
The karnataka origin Vijaynagara empire encompassed andhra Tamil nadu and most of the common food items were taken from karnataka to those areas
Even today Udipi Mangalore Mysuru Bengaluru Tumkur Bidadi Davangere Hubli Dharwad Belgaum are great innovators and originators of delicious food items popular all over India
