I really love MB14’s style of looping, would love if there was a limited effects category to encourage more loopers like that. Though if MB14 came back I definitely think he could win with his best rounds. If sbx did a spacetime loop legends with MB14, Tom Thum and some others that would be amazing (assuming they get more than a minute for rounds).
Gbb23 has separate looping categories, check the new rules
@@j102h Unfortunately the categories only focus on devices, not effects. Since the MK2 allows stuff like pre-inputted melodies and effects that use 0% of the voice input and are only “vocal triggers” loopers still don’t need to use much vocal technique outside basic drums and singing.
The producer category mentions they’ll be penalized for using too many “vocal triggers” that don’t use voice as input, but there’s no indication of if that applies to regular loopstation. I guess we will see if people use more vocals, or if the category still focuses on live music production over vocals.
@@ryansmallwood1178 Probably the former. For better or worse, the trend seems to be in that direction. The purists that want to conserve limitations are going to be the minority, and nobody can really argue that the final product is better for it(for the crowd at least). Look at Inkie!

In Germany, we're shouting "Zugabe" when we want the artist to play an additional Song and I think it's beautiful. :D
at first, i thought they were saying "Zu Wild". then after the second time i realised that was not the case. appreciate this explanation, my german is very limited, so always nice to learn more.

He’s still solo battling and duo battling with Saro but he hasn’t done any Loop-station competitions since 2017. I think he just doesn’t have time to do everything, he already has to write and practice routines for two other competitions every year so he’s probably just tapped out.
He just had to back-out of this years solo competition because he was asked to be on The Voice France Champions which premiered yesterday. He’ll probably use a lot of the songs and routines he was working on for GBB 2021.
You made my day with this video Brez. I love too much MB14 music, i hope he makes a comeback in looping soon. I'm sure i am not the only one who miss him a lot, as you said, his loops are the most authentic and what loopstation is about. ❤️🔥

Ok, MB14 and Robin are vocally way above every other looper I've listened to by a mile... except Tom Thum, whose vocals are just godlike level of awesomeness.

Zugabe = Zu + Gabe. In this case, "Gabe" means gift and the prefix "Zu-" means "extra". So in Germany, we ask for a little extra gift from the artist
I had a time when I used to watch this showcase every day before going to bed. Actually his music helped me a lot through some rough times

Man I love MB 14 but also your style is what hits the spot for me so watching you react to MB being as amazed as I am is pretty dope. The art of loopstation and ya'lls community is something else, I am a complete beginner but I just love what I've heard and follow it on CZcams. I just dig your personality bro, and also every other loopstation artist I've watched, it's all in the name of good music. Modesty is a virtue my friend, I'll still rank you up top for my own favs along with mr. MB14 and Saro, for sure. :)

The accent is likely because he's singing. Some people can speak perfect English if they are singing even if it's not their native tongue.
he speaks pretty accent-less english too. he spoke once about how as a child he loved to imitate sounds. i think that's how he picked it up like watching movies and stuff. actually he's done some very good QUALITY game of thrones impressions. ypu can check it out on his channel
A lot of it has to do with diction or how you pronounce and enunciate words while singing. It’s very different than how you would pronounce them while talking if you do it properly and anyone that’s had good vocal training will tend to do this. When you sing you modify all your vowels to be wide open so that the sound can get out better and be more resonant. American English accents in particular also use a lot of open vowel sounds so it’s mostly a coincidence. 🙂
Seriously MB14 has an amazing voice, his mid tenor tone with the slight rasp he has is so good and smooth...
I actually saw MB14 while watching the Voice France TV show with my ex-wife years before I ever got into beatboxing. Lol
i couldn't agree more. I love MB14's art, voice, looping, musicality. He and Robin are true gods in their art. I love when you do this kind of videos. First of all, thank you for making us, people at home, sing along. I just had to explain to my kids that our cat was, in fact not dying, and that they should go back to bed...
Second of all, although you actually look both envious and in love watching MB14 at work, I have to agree with your comment that the main function of a loop station should be the looping itself. Seeing so many devices being used seems to step away from beatboxing and looping and step more towards whoever can best produce a full EDM track in 3 mins on the spot. Still a very note worthy skill set that deserves recognition and applause, but not what I personally want to see. I'm wondering if future beatbox championships and competitions will start creating more categories, like single device looping only vs full on Bring-your-own-producer-station.

I wish you watched the first round of his LA world cup showcase, it is probably the best vocal looping I've ever heard.
By the way I think Pe4enkata - Rada is a very underappreciated vocal loop track. Its a music video rather than a live performance, but its great to hear her do stuff that showcases her singing abilities, I hope she does more loop tracks in the future.

Au delà de ça, le boulot que vous faites avec le beatbox et la loopstation aura une emprunte sur la musique à long terme comme le sampling en son temps ou le turntabulism. Vous enrichissez la création musicale et c'est vraiment cool

I always choose to hear MB14 play other than all looper with their OP 2nd device, originality with high class vocal something that u cant find anywhere. One of the best, dont worry brez u are still my favorite 😁😁 Love for both of u ❤❤
