LFR FAMILY dope reaction my guy, now remember these drums compared to Moby Dick đđ€đœ
Blink 182 has some bangin songs with some great drums
Deann Dragoun bennett Agreed! We donât need nor want people like that here. We are a family â€ïžâ
Deann Dragoun bennett Absolutely agreed! If I see shit like that, Iâll do the same thing as you did. We all stick together here regardless of who and where weâre from. â€ïž
Deann Dragoun bennett Mutual girl! đđđ
Its 2 singers in this band. The lead vocalist and the guitarist. Their harmonies are unique and legendary.
itâs too bad they donât agree with a lot of things
@@st1nkytree Tru
@Alvaro Aguilar Honestly overall they're not that great live from everything I've heard.
Shavo sings some of the songs
@Alvaro Aguilar daron produced all the albums with rick Ruben and wrote most of the songs. Daron is system
system of a down is a worthy rabbit hole, they're musical, melodic, aggressive, kings of the switch ups and they always have a message.
Next in line is "system of a down - Toxicity" video wouldn't impact your reaction imo. Great reactions man!
Someone on this thread mentioned Toxicity as well!!! I guess Iâm doing that soon! THANK YOU
For a guy who dosn't listen to a ton of rock giving the "scream" credit from a musical stand point. 10 points to you.
Serj Tankian is one of those singer you either love or you hate, I think he is one of greatest front men ever.
They have Serj who is the lead singer and Darren who is doing the harmonies
They sound great together fa sho!
But Daron not Darren. Also Shavo (bass) and John (drums)
Look at the song from this angle: put on a little make up to hide the scars from the shake up (cover your scars from a beating) here comes another fable (lie about the shake up)... I cry when angels deserve to die (innocent victims).. Father why have you forsaken me (Jesus quote from the bible). Pretty deep, right?
yep its a messed up message once you think about what they say. glad Im not the only one who got it.
Actually he said in an interview it's about how people are judged differently if they die by suicide or drug overdose. They wanted to call the song suicide but record company wouldn't allow that.
I've always interpreted "when angels deserve to die" as talking about someone that everyone thinks is a good and caring person (an "angel") but they're secretly abusive and sadistic (which is why they "deserve" to die)
This song has many parallels with the Book of Enoch and how God is going to destroy the fallen angels because they claim they are self righteous. In that case, angels do deserve to die lol
Itâs more of how people put on a front when theyâre depressed and contemplating suicide and pretending theyâre ok when theyâre really hurting inside. âWhyâd you leave the keys up on the tableâ is because when you leave the house to commit suicide, youâre not coming back and donât to take them with you.
System of a Down is a very political band. Everyone of their songs has a very deep meaning. They are a very unique Armenian band. Amazing musicians!!
Reds Fan Iâm not really sure how thatâs a response to anything that was just said
@Reds Fan fuckin simp
political is for example bad religion, the clash or calle 13, but sod not really...
@@seelenwinter6662 oh jeez I sure do hope you don't ever listen to SOAD"S "sugar","toxicity",or "BYOB"
I don't know who told you not to watch the video...But i disagree with them the video is such a GREAT part of the experience but that's just my opinion
I feel you! The advice and requests I get on here is all love but sometimes on opposite sides of tastes. I appreciate u watching though!
@@LFRFAMILY For sure...It's an awesome song and as usual another great reaction...
In general rock songs are better if you just listen and don't get distracted by the music video.
This particular song is a rare exception. The video is really well produced, and compliments the music.
Iâd rather they always watch lyric videos first. So they can grasp the message of the song without being distracted by any visuals. They can always watch the music videos or live versions later on and it gives them more content to put out
@@eldiego68 i would typically agree with you but not on this particular song
"Catering to the ears of ppl who know music".....one of the best ways to describe ANY band that really speaks to you....I only wish it was ME that came up with that line....
The main singer Serj Tankian is a classical/opera trained singer
I can tell you really like the drums on these songs. I'm telling you man, Primus is a 3 man band that is extremely talented with a great drummer Tim "herb
Check out their songs Toxicity, Ariels and BYOB.
The Sparked Brain and Question!
prison song
SOAD is one of my favorite bands. I appreciate your review on them.
You can get lost in a system of a down rabbit hole!
Fantastic reaction!!
When I first heard SOAD even though I've been listening to rock, I had the shock of my life. Turned out, I wasn't the only one. These guys are revolutionary.
Nice reaction to my favorite band. Like your analysis. New subscriber. They have 2 singers by the way, always good harmonies.
Thank You So Much!!!! đȘđœđ„
Great reaction. Bro, you wanna hear a rock singer with some pipes. Check out skid row "wasted time" or "18 and life".... sebastian bach is hands down one of the most underrated rock singers ever. The comment section no doubt will agree. Check out these videos.
Love your comment "they're catering to those who know music." I grew up on rock and metal, all of it even the screamy stuff. As I grew older and learned about all music I can't listen to stuff thats just noise and screaming any more. This is how metal should be done. At least for my tastes.
#1 on the charts 20 years ago to the day. If you were around, you won't ever forget where you were or what you were doing
I really like when people react for first time to soad,i remember that days discovering all that crazy sound, blowing my mind haha, greetings from Mexico!
Love how you pointed out the message along side the progression of the melody. Great review, and pretty proper reaction for the first time hearing the:p
This is reaction gold whoever told you to do a lyric reaction.â€ïžđđ I just love this. Thank you for your reaction I canât wait to see more.â€ïžđđ€đ
Awwwww Youâre AwesomeâŒïžâŒïžđ„
Yessah!! This song is a classic..... I can picture the video while listening to the song.
Amazing drummer for classic rock band Rush just passed away. Neal Peart. He also wrote the lyrics for the songs. If you want to see some amazing drumming, watch the video for Tom Sawyer.
Bro wearing a Dunder Mifflin shirt and listening to SOAD. Thatâs the way to fucking roll yo!!
Great reaction my man. The one song you must check out of theirs is Spiders. It is a vocal masterpiece and the instrumental transitions are crazy. Do the video to it as well. â
Check out some Rush. Their drummer, the late, great Neil Peart will blow your mind
System of a down - âDeer danceâ, âHypnotizeâ or âBombsâ, some of their most political songs with very strong messages. EDIT: Also, if you want some sick SOAD drums, check out âKnowâ and "I-E-A-I-A-I-O". Toxicity is also a good shout, but imo quite overrated. Might be good for getting into the band though. Also some heavy drums on that one. John Dolmayan is a very underrated drummer.
I've watched a ton of your videos today and this one was the one I was most excited for
great reaction!! Great dissection of the themes, the music, and the vocals. There's alot of switch-ups in this song, so it was cool to see u getting into each part
I absolutely love your reactions! You should do Slipknot Duality since you love drums so much!
OMG I started to do Duality instead of The Devil In I! I got you next time.
Both are my favorites
Check out System of a down - Toxicity
Most definitely & Thanks
LFR FAMILY youâll also enjoy Question! By system of a down
You really hit the mail right on the head when you said that itâs like they cater to the ear of people who know music. A lot of people could hear this, and just judge it immediately and put it in the noise category, but this band is amazing. Just the vocal range on the lead singer is ridiculous. Very talented.
mannn i love soad so much makes me so happy when ppl discover them youtube lacks soad reactions thank u! hope u have a nice day
Another comment... I love Van's reaction of all of the people out there. He really dives deep to understand the songs.. Love it.
Youâre right about the fable line, the person is presenting a lie out into the world, but it isnât about makeup or looking good, itâs about hiding depression & masking emotions
Man Iâm so glad this was recommended I been watching all your recent shit and love it
System Of A Down's "Spiders" -- spooky metaphors and imagery abound.
i really appreciate your understanding of music and how well you hear the different parts overlayed in the son.
I love them because they are so unique!
Godsmack- I stand alone
You gotta listen to âAerials â because youâll love it.
do some dream theater bro their drummer is awesome
All of their music has an amazing message if you just listen to it you know theyâre fantastic Iâm glad you listen to this
Amazing reaction, bro. Once you start to listen to system you just cant stop.
You really understood this song!! been a fan of SOAD for yearsss
Man... been binging your reaction videos tonight... started with your Rage Against the Machine videos, and now going more places... really love how you react... and you hit in the head here with "they are catering to people who know music" comment, what you said was just amazing!
Serj has a fenomenal vocal range and Daron is pretty great too (he had his own band for a while where he was the lead vocalist!)
Listen, System Of A Down is an amazing band. They are brilliant on so many levels.
âCatering to people that know musicâ... Great comment... spot on. I love SOAD!!!
Love watching people listen to SOAD for the first time and watching them become fans. I read somewhere that this song is about Jesus and his apostles. The apostles (why'd you leave the keys on the table? here you go create another fable etc.) talking to Jesus, and Jesus replying about his self-righteous suicide. Check out any of their songs mate their all bangers :)
I like you analyse with your musical knowledge , like you notice harmonies , rythm, etc
Love being part of the LFR family! Love your reactions!
Really enjoying your reactions. Real and genuine
The first time I heard this song it was on a DBZ homemade clip downloaded on Kazaa when I was 12yo in 2002.
It was life changing. This is art.
Love you, manđ best reaction ever đ
John Dolmayan is one of my favorite drummers! Met him at a show...and Dave Grohl. Dave is the lead singer of the Foo Fighters but he was also the drummer in Nirvana.
Great reactionđđŻ
đ¶đ Love the reaction. you can tell you was a bit shock on their sound. But they crab you in. The first time I listing to them was in 2005 taking my son to school. He put SOAD in the cd playing. The first song I heard was Hypnotize, I was thrown back. But I got into to it. I said to my son who is that. He told me SOAD. He ask did you like it. I Said I never heard of SOAD, it nothing I ever heard before but its good. So my son introduce me to SOAD. So I went down that rabbit hole with my son and listen to more of their Discography. Thanks this was great for me. Road to 10k subs. đŻđđ§đ”
Respect for respecting good music. You got a new subscriber
Harmony is what you were talking about. They have beautiful harmonies.
the best real commentary on oppressive government and always a banger
Great video my man. You should check out Body Count - There Goes The Neighborhood
My new favorite channel đ€đœ may I request some more Slipknot- Unsainted .... itâs drum heavy and I know You like your drums!
I most certainly WILL Do it! & THANK YOU!
@@LFRFAMILY Yeah, Unsainted is really great
My favorite sing of theirs!
*Fun fact* Serj Tanken (the main singer) used to be an opera singer xx
Love your positive attitude. Subbed
LOVE the harmony on the line talking about 'self-righteous suicide" Love catching the religious symbolism in the lyrics. I read they are all Armenian American, and maybe it's all in my head, but some of their harmonies have the feel of the Middle East.
... and I'm j glad you caught that!
This song is Party in the front, emotions in the back.
The way the song is built is a reflection of the message it brings. (In my opinion).
Putting on a front to disguise what's behind. They got that super hyped up first half, they hit you with the slow parts in between as if to let the emotions seep out. The last parts are the true face, how you really feel.
Omg! This is my friends and my song! Since it came out. We did this at karaoke in a Mexican restaurant, hahahaa, they thought we were crazy and we were shocked they even had it in the song list, hahahaha! So many memories to this song and to that whole album! Video would have been a better experience though. Thank you !
đ„đ„ One of my favs, dope group đ€
The switch ups are crazy!
Great reaction, man! Like you say, System Of A Down was not your run of the mill band. They had a unique sound, and you can tell that they love to play music and make beautiful songs. The vocal harmonies are just gorgeous, and the songs very memorable. Also, as you said, they really shine in their use of dynamics - playing soft as a whisper in one part and then jumping right into very heavy, staccato sections. Armenian scales in there as well because I believe at least two of the guys have Armenian heritage. Bottom line is S.O.A.D. was one of the most unique bands to emerge from the 90s.
I subbed after the first reaction video I watched from you because I could tell you have a good ear for music and rhythm.
SOAD has next level musicianship with some deep, deep lyrics.
The harmony on the chorus you like is the guitarist (who is main song writer) singing with lead vocalist
If you want vocal range you, Pisces by Jinjer (live session) will blow your mind. Probably the most reacted to song on the internet.
The song is about violence against women - using makeup to hide the bruises, telling lies to cover the fact that they've been beaten to begin with, and in the end killing themselves. Their suicides being self-righteous because it's (from their point of view) an escape. "When angels deserve to die" is a reference to an old religious saying, that an angel dies every time someone kills themselves. He's crying because he understands the pain these women go through that drive them to ending their own lives.
The original song title was " suicide " ,but they preferred to switch it into a word play and chopped half the word... hence " chop(ped) suey ". Love your reactions!!
Damn good one!!!
âOh wellziesâ đ€Łđ€Łâ ïž Almost at 6k đ€âïž
BOL Almost!!! Thanks for being so DOPE!
LFR FAMILY â€ïžđ€ We got you fam!
Great reaction.
One of the most important songs in Rock history.
LOVE that intro spit!!!!
Sounded like u said system of a damn! Lol đ love that you are doin rock.
âCatering to the people who know musicâ. Yes! Exactly! So many people gave me the side eye when they heard me listening to SOAD but I made them sit down and LISTEN. Grew up on Zeppelin, Pink FloydâŠInstruments are the emotions, the words are the truth. Metallica also did thisâŠTool, Slipknot etc
i dont care if is it your 1st time watch or not. But i enjoyed your reaction bruh. Keep it up.
Youâre good at interpreting lyrics đ€
Damn, thats a solid interpretation there.....i know people who have been fans of this group for 20 years who cant put a finger on what the song is about!
Enjoyed your reaction to Toxicity! I'll wait for the video version of Toxicity which is highly recommended.
Oops ... video version of Chop Suey
"Father, why hast thou forsaken me?" ~ said god Jr. to God Senior.
i thought he'd figure out who committed self-righteous suicide and created a fable at that point
Hahaha, you were fake screaming at exactly the moment the singer screamed in the same manor.. No idea, lucked out completely and the surprise on your face.. Priceless.
4:40. Fable is a word that has wildly different meaning depending on who you ask, and how itâs used.
gotta watch all of ur SOAD vids - my favs Soad songs is Deff: byob - chop suey - forest - soldier - IEAIAIO - Bounce - Sugar - Old school hollywood- lost in hollywood - shimmy - prison song < so good - NĂŒguns - pictures - science - Aerials
Dude you're cool as fuck!! Nuff respect from the UK!!đ
This song...reminds me of the days going crazy on the dansfloor đGood timesđ
I hear them pipes, man. Let us know if we should hear something from you soon.
Youre very open minded. Love your perspective in the lyrics. Good reaction. You should react to painkiller by judas priest if you havent already.
New subscriber, love your car rides!! Would love to hear some stone temple pilots, but not the stuff they play on the radio, they have such a great discography!! And they have the most amazing live shows!!
