This was by far the hardest video to shoot and edit up to date! It took an entire day to shoot and I didn't even cover the whole campus. Look how big is it and how is it hidden in the forest! Editing was a nightmare too because the footage was too much and I didn't know what to include and what to not include. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video.
Standing ovation!!
@@rickshearer Thank you so much! 🙏 What's your name by the way?
@@CampusMania I'm Rick Shearer is my name wheras rixSHEARERism is my "branding/production" title. Thanks for asking! 🎶🎨
It's always enjoyable watching you videos.
@@enosbundi2124 Thank you Enos! 🙏
A university campus in a redwood forest. I think that makes it the coolest campus anywhere.
Yes... except for that mountain lion warning sign! I'd run away for my life!
My cousin will be attending this school for fall of 2023. He applied to 6 UC schools: UCSC, UCR, UCM, UCD, UCSD and UCSB. He got accepted into UCM, UCR and UCSC but got rejected by UCD, UCSD and UCSB. He got into this school with a 3.95 weighted GPA (took many Honors and AP classes during his high school career [and passed a couple of AP Exams including AP US History (11th grade), AP Human Geography (10th grade), AP Art History (11th grade), AP Statistics (12th grade), AP Government and Politics (12th grade) and AP Environmental Science (12th grade)]. Plus, he was an Eagle scout and was Vice President of his Chess Club and Math Club at his high school and did three science projects that made it into the county science fair and came from a low-income family. Plus, he went to Cosmos at UCSC in summer of 2022 before his Senior Year. He is majoring in Mathematics. He will be taking Math 19A/Calculus 1, Writing 1 and Chem 3A this fall. He is glad he got into UCSC because if he did not, he would have flip-flopped between attending UCR or community college. Wish my cousin luck.
WOW! Thank you for this detailed story. Good luck to him! Hopefully these details will be useful for prospective students who are watching this!
@@CampusMania --- Thank you. Sorry for writing long but I wanted to share a story. That being said, UCSC is a nice campus to attend but prospective students are going to have to work their ass off (like my cousin) in order to get into this school.
@@123ucr Yes, it's very competitive to get in any university in the university of California system.
@@CampusMania --- Agreed. Even the three lower tier UC's (UCM, UCR and UCSC) are getting hard to get into. If you do not have a weighted GPA near a 4.0 (3.7-3.8 or better) and you do not have strong extracurricular activities and other factors (e.g., low income, first generation to attend college, campus connection [For my cousin's case, science summer school/Cosmos at UCSC], I would not even bother applying to any of the UC schools (even UC Merced which is the simplest UC to get into). The UC schools are the new Ivy League Universities.
@@123ucr Agreed. UC schools are prestigious and getting more selective every day.
Seeing it 7 years after graduating still makes you feel at home. No Joe’s anymore!
Glad the video brought back the good memories to you! What did you study there? I also have to ask, did you encounter a mountain lion at any point when you were there?
full of beautiful and shady trees,
nice campus environment on the hill, comfortable, quiet, conducive for study,
relatively simple campus buildings among the university of California but still nice.
But you have to watch out for mountain lions!
Fantastic aerial footage!! Graceful and consistant flow in movement and editing...one of your best for sure! It shows!🎥🎦 UCSC is like a campus tucked into nature. Three of my friends graduated from there...they loved it!
Thank you so much! 🙏 Glad you liked it. What did your friends study there?
@@CampusMania Two of the friends
B.A. - Theatre Arts. The other, B.S. - Biology
@@rickshearer Good for them. I think UCSC has some good programs for both majors.
Wow..this looks more like a city then a university. It’s huge. Don’t take classes at opposite ends of this school, you need a vehicle of some kind to get around. You may not have gotten the whole thing, but you still showed a lot of it.
Another great video.
Thank you Donnie! 🙏 Yes, it's really huge! And I've never seen a campus in a forest like this before. They have signs everywhere warning about wild animals like mountain lions. I don't think I can study at a place like this. The only good thing is the ocean view and you can't see it at almost any place on campus because the whole campus is super covered by the trees. Sadly, this is not one of my favorite campuses at all.
@@CampusMania nothing like have a Cougar strolling through the campus. Yikes
@@donnie2832 Exactly!
great video!
Thank you Leonardo! 🙏 Glad you liked the video. Make sure to leave a thumbs up to support the channel 👍
These are great, captures the feeling perfectly well. Could you do one for the USC health science campus!
Thank you! 🙏
I'll try to do it in the future.
Beautiful 😍

Thanks for sharing it! My daughter was accepted by UCSC and UCR. Her GPA is 3.96. But she was rejected by UCD, UCI, and UCsD. She wants to study biology. Do you think which one is better? Please advise me. I really appreciate it!
Both are good options. The locations are different though. It depends on where she wants to live. UCR is within Los Angeles metro, but UCSC is in the middle of nowhere.
Thank you so much for your information!
@@PatSun-bn1um You're welcome. And good luck to your daughter!
@@CampusMania ,we are going to choose UCR. Thanks!
So this is what UCSC campus looks like it kinda looks like you live in the forest?
Also I'm interested going to UC or USC?
It definitely feels like a forest there. But when you say UC, which UC do you mean? Is it UCSC or something else?
@@CampusMania UCSC is part of UC schools right?
@@Kingofthepeople Yes, it is. But there are multiple Universities in the UC system, so when you say just UC then that's a very generic term. Also, the default University that comes to mind when you say UC is UC Berkeley. So if you mean UCSC, then say UCSC.
@@CampusMania Yes I said UC but I didn't say UC Berkeley I said I'm interested to UC as in the UC Campuses that mean the UC schools but it has to be one of course not just UC Berkeley well I mean I'm interested going to that school or if not then I'll take the other UC campuses for example?
UCB, UCSC, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCM, or UCI.
@@Kingofthepeople They are all very competitive schools and you can't go wrong with any of them.
Stevenson haterade continues… 😂
Imagine you're walking at night and you bump into a massive and starving mountain lion. Those warning signs are a huge red flag. Like, why would you study in a place that has wildlife wandering around the campus?? Pass!!
My point exactly! I'd never study there. Even if they give me money, I'll never do it!
