Wow. I have crazy respect both for Geoffrey and whoever transcribed this.
Thanks! It was Max Gamiz. Amazing transcriber!
Best solo piano of this tune I have ever heard.
Still coming back to this moment of utter genius from Geoff. I tapped 3 beats to the bar for the entirety of it and can’t work out how you managed to keep it in 3/4. Much admiration.
That bass line is just crazy
Masterful in every aspect and a true joy to watch and listen to and I could tell Geoffrey was enjoying it himself which is of paramount importance.
It is so satisfying to watch/play along with transcriptions like this. Geoffrey Keezer nailed it here!
Amazing hand independence and phrasing!
Wow! What a left hand. And everything else! ;)
Being able to play like this just became one of my life goals! This reminded me of some Keith Jarrett Solo Concert feels... so great! One day, I'll play like this!
Fantástico sublime arreglo Dios te bendiga tu talento
That left hand line is mesmerising. Love the arrangement too.
I truly loved this piece from beginning to end. Every now and then you'll hear a piece of music that makes you reflect on a part of your life that may be long past. That what this did for me, anyway.
Best piano teacher. Full of musicality. Knows all the fundaments e How to pass it.
That was a virtuoso performance. Outstanding!
That left hand - !!
Thank you! This a fantastic performance and an equally fantastic transcription. I suspect I'll be studying the left hand part for the rest of my life
One of the best solo piano i've ever listen.
So much to love about Geoffrey Keezer's unique take on this standard (usually done as a ballad). The 3/4 nearly Latin/Funk groove, the way he fills out the keys (especially with his amazing LH), using the piano as an orchestral instrument, plus the delicious chord changes he adds to reharmonize "The Nearness of You" in such a refreshing way!
Absolument éblouissant ! Avec une inventivité remarquable et une maîtrise instrumentale hors du commun. Un grand moment de piano solo et de belle musicalité. Merci de nous offrir cette performance, grande classe monsieur!
Wonderful playing. Geoffrey has some chops.
So many nice stuff in there Especially left hand rhythmic things and voicing. Thank you so much Geoffrey!
Excellent performance Geoffrey-killer rendition of 'nearness' along with an amazing left hand bass counterpoint double time feel-impressive!
Out of this world!
Wow, this was amazing and genius.
Crazy
Master class, thank you.
Amazing!
Incredible.
Bravo! Just incredible. Art Tatum would've loved this. Thx Geoffrey
So perfect in everything in order to be an improvisation...
amazing!!
I would not be too surprised that he could probably sightread that cold as well. Geoff is a freak. You can always count on him to come up with intriguing transitions. Right off the top of his head too. Absolutely lovely. And the tone! The only problem I have with it is that it ended.
Impressive, thank you.
King!!!!!
Geof - Just listened to your performance on Peterson's "Wheel within a wheel" - superb.
Geoff, you are a monster musician. This embodies so much of the Phineas Newborn spirt, but of course in the context of your voice. Really enjoyed hearing this!
I heard Geoff playing a Ray Brown turne and, OMG, I heard Ray Brown playing, then he played a Monk tune and Monk is right there. it's amazing. It's all him and it's all the musicians he loves, too.
Guess I should have listened when told to practice and learn your scales ! Amazing playing !
Another fabulous player, David Hazeltine, would likely play this in the same way, based on the way he radically can change the rhythm or tempo songs that more often than not are played as slow ballads, along with the use of cluster chords, constant structure to certain chords, etc.
Genius.
Nice!
This is God-tier stuff!
A monster !
Yeah!!!
👏👏👏👏👏
killin

Amazing arrangement and performance, would love to purchase the entire version, please let me know where to buy. Thanks.

Hello friend really super what 'u do, amazin' solo piano and 'ur left hand was great whaou 'u must do come in my country in the Ocean Indien Island Réunion to give à concert Piano Solo 'right allé keep along the piano and good fit to 'u
You definitely seem to have a left hand like Art Tatum with all those runs!
No idea who he is but glad i now know :)
What software program did you use, to transcribe this?...
Remember me something of Mr. Mulgrew Miller soloing ... yeahh
Absolutely, some of the altered runs are there.
I've liked Keezer since he had the Messengers gig, and then he reminded me of Oscar when playing in the Ray Brown Trio. I'm glad he's playing an acoustic grand. Pianos, piano sales, piano tuners are all becoming rare in a field that keeps getting more and more crowded with guitars and adolescent voices. Moreover, someone with real chops is throwing them away by playing only electric keyboards, which tend to homogenize players' touches/voices. Both Bill Evans and Keith came to the same conclusion. Having said that, this is not the most satisfying version of Hoagy Carmichael's standard. I have the impression it was chosen because the melody's whole and half notes allow the left hand to keep going with that ambitious riff in the bass. Would it work with "My One and Only Love"?
The Free PDF only give 5 page the next portion of his Hot Improv is missing.
Beautiful. Nothing to add. Thank you for sharing this moment Geoffrey. I adore.
Давно слежу за карьерой Джефа .Не пытайтесь его догнать или даже повторить.Это недогоняемо.Поберегите себя.То,что дано некоторым сверху надо просто принять за константу
Question: How is it your transcribe cursor, is actually where you're playing? There are a lot of folks posting stuff and for me, because I have a musical background and trying at 60 plus to brush up on my sight reading, it's very frustrating. What software do you use or what's your setup? Asking for myself. BTW I'm a bass player. Thanks in advance.

3:38-3:48 Reminds me of Kapustin.
Go Kapustin!
I wonder what the two who gave this a thumbs down were looking for? 😂
.. he threw in "daydream" on the bridge...
Good ears! :)
Master GK KIS.
What charlie browns intro shoulda been
I don't really care for this arrangement with that busy left hand bass line. With that said, that's a helluva a left hand and killer solo.
I hope he gets paid by the note.........
Beautiful performance. Sad the piano is out of tune
Too bouncy.. But deserve to study
Boring as heck.
Nice!
