- You guys are unbelievable! We published a video "how to make trdelník at home" and - it was sort of a joke. And you immediately saw through it and completed the joke by making YOUR OWN HONEST TRDELNÍKS at home. You made us laugh so hard you have no idea. So we decided we will film this video as a tribute to you. We bow to you, you did an amazing job! Thank you so much for keeping us inspired, it's so much fun to make videos for you!
In case you haven't seen the video, watch it here:

So, you basically made as much people as possible taste it at home so when they come to Prague they wouldn't want to buy one. I see what you've done there. 😂😂😂
That was his goal.
4:21 My trdelník is famous hahaha 😄🧡
Thank you so much for this recipe!
Hugs from Brazil! We didn't have trdelnik in Prague, but we enjoyed a lot goulash!!
7:43 - možná Tomio a maminka z Moravy 🤔😂
To mě vůbec nenapadlo 😁
Unpopular opinion: I actually really like trdelník :D but just the basic one without toppings
:)
In an episode many years ago, Janek insisted that his Grandmother makes better potato salad than Lokal. Please can we have a cooking demonstration of that or perhaps kulajda (my favourite) and maybe if you boys don't know how, it's time to bring in the mothers or grandmothers or fathers or whomever in your family know how! Honest Guide family!
Brilliant! Loved it! More!
Yeees mine is the one from belgium. Czech living in belgium.
4:40 "People all around the world are making trdelníks and we're responsible for that" I guess Janek has mixed feelings about that :P
Can't believe this channel has uploaded a new video!
Can you guys introduce some good Czech movies or even TV series? I love European movies but ive never watched a Czech one...This would be a good video for the channel as well in quarantine time...Love from Iran!

My all time favorite Czech movie is The Cremator. Old school (from late 60's) but so good and actually chilling. It's a meta horror story of a man who slowly descents to madness and kills his family in his nazi delussion.
awesome content my guy ,u deserve more views :))
I have those Star Wars salt and pepper shakers....
After the crisis, the best trdelník baker will be made from this channel.
Why is the video with the recipe made private? :(
Didn’t thought you guys would come to this extent😂
My luxembourgish trdelník has become famous!
Also, can we point out what a cool apartment you have!
Lol , all the German ones are look perfect, got to love ❤️ that German engineering 😁
8:21 at least I made you laugh :)
Kde je to video s receptem? Tenkrát jsem ho pekla a dnes jsem chtěla znovu ale nemůžu najít 😩
Hey, I cannot remember trdelnik being a traditional Czech food when I was a child 🤔 Well, in Belarus they say it's a Belarusian tradition, Russian Wikipedia says it's Czech and Czech Wikipedia says it comes from Romania 😁 Anyway, people make a lot of money on this trdelnik 😁
Would have made trdelnik at home but the people who brought all the toilet paper also brought all the flour
Upload more here this would be cool :D
We will for sure! We’ll try to entertain you as much as possible now :)
@@HONESTVLOG Thx guys, I really appreciate your work a lot!
Hey what about how to make those potato fries that look like a spiral slinkie? Fake?
Last time I was in Prague - about 15 years ago - there were no Trdelniks or whatever you spell that.. there was no Prague ham either...
I was so excited to try this, but I was just out of yeast. Did you know that yeast is impossible to buy during a pandemic? I was surprised too!
Little minimarket stores :)
@@janekrubes I wish we had potraviny like in the Czech Republic! Sadly 7-Elevens and Circle Ks have nothing like that here in Canada. :(
Stay healthy and keep 'em coming!
Of course it comes from Skalica!
You’re telling me you have a second channel with more of Janek x Honza??
i love pizzas with pineapple
Janku je to super, ale kdybych mohla tak byTi ráda editovala hlavně tu kuchařskou angličtinu a výslovnost tourist mě bolí. Jsem těžce poznamenaná Britskou angličtinou, the queen an' all, jojo. Kdykoliv a pro lásku k bližnímu for free.
In the first video i thought you would be using a recipe by Láďa Hruška, the best czech chef there Is.
you should make a video with pppeter...
Trdelník is from Slovakia - Skalica
🇸🇰🇸🇰🇸🇰
Does the word trdelník actually mean anything or is it just a name?
"The word trdelník is of Czech-Slovak origin; the root of this word, trdlo, is the name of the wooden tool the cake ingredients are wrapped around during cooking (which gives it its traditional hollow shape), and can also mean "simpleton" in English (see trdlo)."
(Wikipedia)
My guess is (and wiktionary backs me up) that it's from the word "trdlo". Originally it means "a pestle" (but it's not really used in this meaning anymore) but it also means "a goof" when you use it for a person. For example: "I didn't use enough flour, I'm such a trdlo!" ;-)
P.S. Trouba (which means an oven) can also mean "a goof" and that's what Janek's referring to in the end of the baking video when he says "trdlo is also trouba" :D
@@stepancharvat9310 Thank you!
I am angry really because I was made Trdelnik I was tagged you in instagram and in Facebook also I sent to you , unfortunately you didn’t saw it , I decided to unfollow you, because when you decide to do this challenge you should work and see everyone not by your mood .
Darko, really sorry for this. We try to be as organized as possible but apparently failed. Sorry again! Let's not fight over Trdelniks :)
Sorry ale je to uz trapne s tym trdelnikom
