    Sitting here, watching how-to-paint vids, eating lunch, and waiting for my 2nd coat to dry. I'll do one more on the walls, up in the corners. I watched a couple of your vids, all nice. I'm painting a panel door tomorrow and hopefully, finishing the walls in my kitchen. Thanks for posting.

      I’m a fan of a headlamp or a light clipped to my hat. That works quite well!

    Do you have a video of what a professional painting company should and should not provide for a painting project???

    • @SuperVassarBrothers

      I have not made a video on that particular issue. I guess it all depends on the scope of the job and what you included in the quote 🤷‍♂️

    Have been painting the bedrooms in our house with SW Agreeable Gray using Emerald Flat. Has been going great.
    Today I painted our upstairs hallway with SW Gauntlet Gray again in Emerald Flat.
    The darker paints definitely take more skill. It came out nice but unfortunately at an angle on one of the walls... roller lines.
    Pretty sure its a classic case of not using enough paint and that also effected the "wet edge". Its not horrible but bad enough im gonna fix it.
    Do you think if I roll over it with a 3rd coat and be sure to be more generous with loading the roller up it will do the trick? I am assuming I dont need to sand the wall first to cover those lap marks.

      We almost always use a 1/2" nap Wooster Pro-Doo-Z FTP in either the 9" or 14" variety. Emerald flat is what we use in a lot of foyers, so that's a solid choice. Without seeing your issue in person, I'd say to make sure the paint is well mixed, and when you do a 3rd coat, make sure you're not spreading the product too thin. You may also want to try using a headlamp or a flashlight clipped to a hat so that you can see whether or not your getting heavier build-up anywhere. That'll help avoid seeing those lap marks.

      @@SuperVassarBrothers Thanks. I'll be using a Pro-Doo-Z FTP cover for this as well. Will make sure it goes on wet and dries as one cohesive coat this time.

    I’m painting over satin with a matte. Do I have to sand first ?

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  Před 4 měsíci

      Nope. You’re good to go although you may want to sand the walls if you want to smooth out any rough spots or nap from the previous paint job.

    Is it possible to paint crown molding without sanding it?

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes indeed. If it’s been previously painted with a latex based trim paint then most trim paints whether they be hybrids or acrylics will stick to it with out an issue.

    What if your painting the room the same color can you get away with one coat

    • @SuperVassarBrothers
      @SuperVassarBrothers  Před 4 měsíci

      You probably can. Particularly if it’s the same sheen that was used previously.
